  1. I LOVE the restraint. I fell in love with it at Busch Gardens many years ago. Can't remember what coaster it was but it is a great restraint. I love it when you crest the top of the hills and can catch some serious air.
  2. It doesn't physically hurt me as much as it messes with my head. At the top of the hill right after the second loop, I always "white out" a bit. It disorients me but as soon as it makes the turn to hit the helix, all is good again. If I ride it numerous times in a row, it can start to take its toll but it's easily shaken off.
  3. I rode it for the first time during haunt of 2010 and held on to the seat te entire time. Ever since, it's been hands in the air! The first drop with your hands up makes it seem like you are falling straight down. Rode it for the first time in the dark last Saturday and can't wait to do it again on Thursday. It's given The Beast a run for its money for a "must ride in the dark" coaster for me.
  4. I have ridden with him before. He is a very nice guy and the ride ops help his journey by letting him jump back on in empty seats. (Thats how I ended up with him). Most of us could only dream of riding that many Coaster rides.
  5. If you look at the Pop machines in the park, there are two towers. One is WindSeeker, the other is NOT Drop Tower. Wrong shape. (ET is on there too) I think there was something else I noticed wrong on it too but I can't remember.
  6. We ate there last Thursday. It's typical buffet fare. Some stuff is good, others, not so much. I am still trying to figure out why they have a server get your drinks when the fountains are right next to the buffet. We ended up getting ours too. We ate there mainly because it was a sit down, air conditioned place to eat and the kids could have their choice. For the price, we will do it again. Has anyone tried the backyard BBQ? How does it compare?
  7. It's funny you mention a Rat Shack meter as I had one until someone stole it. So are you telling me my Goldline meter is wrong? Would you like to stop by my arena and take a measurement for yourself? I have miranda Lambert in a weak who shouldn't be that loud but will still be well above 95dB. I wish I had taken a reading at LMFAO a few weeks ago as they were darn near shaking lighting fixtures out of our offfice spaces. You are correct with saying if its too loud, it's uncomfortable. I don't know how many concerts have been through where I will step out into the arena and run for shelter because its too loud and I like it loud myself. Again, everyone is different and I highly doubt they acctually pick every song that is played. I am sure it is a subscription service and they just pick the channel. How many times do radio stations play the same song over and over daily especially top 40.
  8. Not sure what type of concerts you are attending but try in the range of 105-110 dB(A) with some reaching 115dB(A). Granted these are concerts in appropraitely designed venue and not ones you would find in a neighborhood or street fair. The systems installed in the park are 70V systems which have a limited frequency range regardless. Could they run everything at a lower level? Sure but you are going to have dead spots between coverage zones. This isn't elevator music in a restraunt, it's a theme park. You are correct in that everyone hears things differently. What one person may think is an appropriate level, others may think is too loud hence the entire reason this thread was started! For example, I think the anti rollbacks on Firehawk are extremely loud and are near painful at times. Do other people think the same? Doubt it. I personaly enjoy the music. They can't please eveyone.
  9. My wife and I found it humerous that they had the "bag check" area set up but it was open on either side of the area. We walked right by the bag check and entered the park WITH a backpack. Guess bag checks are optional?
  10. I recently discovered that i have a Gluten alergy the day before my last visit to the park. I ended up eating french fries from Rivertown and nothing else all day. Was planning on some of the GF pizza but never made it. A list of other GF foods would be GREAT!
  11. I ignore them everytime I walk by so I don't notice the game barkers much anyway. Some areas of the park are louder than others but I do audio for a living and live by the "if it's too loud, your too old" philosophy. Loud music builds energy and excitement. (in the right circumstances) Maybe that is what they are thinking.
  12. I am with Klfan. I think after the last breakdown, it was "bandaided" and is now getting the proper repairs. Hopefully it is opened sooner than expected rather than longer.
  13. You can use your free drink wristband with your souvenier cup. That's what I did with my family when we went on Thursday.
  14. Are these only available in the Krogers around the Park? I have tried 3 different ones in my area (columbus) and can't find them. Thanks guys!
