  1. Favorite Theme Parks: -Cedar Point, Dollywood, Six Flags Great America, and Kings Island. Favorite Water Parks: -I don't really pay that much attention to water parks as I'm usually on the coasters, but KI's Soak City is great. I also enjoyed the Beach when it was open.
  2. Although a Legends of the Hidden Temple re-theme would be awesome, I like AE the way it is. It took me a while to get used to the color change, but I sort-of like Invertigo's blue paint. IMO, it looks great up-close but looks out-of-place from far away (as I'm still used to seeing red and yellow)
  3. My favorite wooden coasters are The Beast (KI), The Racer (KI) and Viper at Six Flags Great America.
  4. Thank you very much for posting these. I especially like the maps from the 1990's and early 2000's.
  5. When I rode in Seat 50, it felt like I was facing the ground a lot more of the time than normal, like it was circling the ground.
  6. Backlot is cool; the launch feels faster than Flight of Fear's launch (even though FOF goes a bit faster). I do find the helix do be a bit dizzying, though. I once rode it when it was raining and I was singing "Set fire to the rain" (Adele) as the train came to the fire/explosians part
  7. I like Delirium... I was very nervous the first time I went on becasue I thought it would be one of those "spin-and-puke rides"; it wasn't and I ended up loving it Sitting in Seat 50 is a very intresting experince because of how the ride rotates.
  8. I saw this on Yahoo! this morning. I think it's pretty cool that The Beast made the list.
  9. True, I do remember riding it back then and it was a little much for me...
  10. What is Kings Island to me? A lot of things; my first ride on Son of Beast (as it was my first looping coaster), putting my hands up on The Racer, riding other classic coasters like Flight of Fear, Vortex, and The Beast, great thrill rides like Drop Tower and Xtreme Skyflyer, the smell of hot pavement and grease on The Racer's track, and lots of fun! EDIT: Oh yeah, can't forget the 3-day awesomeness that is Sprit Song, had so many great times seeing such great bands like Skillet, Family Force 5 and Newsboys rocking out!
  11. First off, I really like this thread . I've actually thought of some ride-change ideas in the past. Here are some of them: -Flight of Fear should be pitch-black (except for maybe the "stars" in the tunnel following the launch). -Son of Beast's rosebowl should be taken out and replaced with hills and drops and turns. The new track would reconnect to the old track at the mid-course brake run. Also, the loop should be re-installed. -Flight Deck should have fog again -each side of The Racer should have one forwards train and one backwards train. -KI should regain rights to the name Drop Zone. -When the Crypt was still around, I thought of a ride program in which the ride would be scored to a song from Slumdog Millionare ("O Saya") and called "Shiva's Revenge". It would have 9 flips.
  12. FunPerks says I've visited 4 times and I'm still on level one. Although I have not yet advanced to the next level, I did see that some hot dog/Skyline perks (Special Offers that are valid this Saturday and Sunday only) were added.

    Soak City Review

I walked around Soak City today and was very, very impressed by the changes. I liked that the location of Action River's entrance was moved as I felt the old lazy river entrance area seemed sort of congested. I also liked that Thunder Falls' exit area and Zoom Flume's entrance areas are now connected via a path near Action River's zero-depth entrance (you used to have to walk all the way down past Paradise Plunge and Thunder Falls to get to Zoom Flume's entrance). I will say that the new wave pool is a bit smaller than I expected, but everything else is awesome. Although I did not go on any of the waterpark attractions today, I will definitely be back to spend some time in the waterpark this summer.

  15. I think this would be a great idea
  16. Whoops, I should have clarified. I meant to say the center tables in Coney Mall closest to Zephyr/X-Base.
  17. Personally, I don't mind the music. The only time I thought that the music was super loud was when I was eating at the tables near Coney Skyline the other day. Actually, I really like it when they play songs from the 90's and early 2000's.
  18. I said summer because KI is open daily and summer is my favorite season. Also, I'm not a huge fan of Haunt (I don't really enjoy getting scared)
  19. When I was at the park yesterday, I noticed there were some mechanics checking the shocks (I think?) on Flight Deck before dispatching one of the trains. I thought it was intresting that they only checked one of the trains and not the other. Also, as others have said, Diamondback was running yesterday.
  20. When I rode Xtreme Skyflyer about a month ago, I noticed the crew ran things a bit differently. They asked me if I was planning on purchasing my video at the end of my flight. I said no and they sent me to the far side (closest to Congo/Drop Tower). Oh, and as a side note, the I love the 80's store is really cool
  21. I was at Six Flags (near Chicago) a few summers ago and Iron Wolf had broken down while I was in line. The ride-op started asking trivia questions and I got one right. Also, I remember a Beast ride-op that dispatched a train in a Charlie the Unicorn voice.
  22. Probably Congo Falls as it's the one I've been on the most. However, I did ride White Water Canyon recently and had a blast (the water was very cold though).
  23. Agreed- I got a night ride the first time I rode Millennium Force. It was so dark that I couldn't tell tunnel from track.
  24. TombRaiderTy, this is impressive; thanks for putting this together. I always enjoy a little Kings Island history and especially enjoyed reading about the 2000 attractions as I haven't been able to find much information from FearFest's first year. Again, thank you.
