  1. Well if we follow the philosophy of some 17 year old, we could get something pretty nice. Kid 1: What to now? Kid 2: Lets do a kiddie ride. Kid 1: Well lets go do Firehawk, thats a Kiddie ride. They may have mistaken. But if Firehawk is Kiddie Ride. Imagine all of the possibilities...
  2. I could be wrong, but doesn't Maverick have some thing like that. And it might not be a diagonal support at all.
  3. I'd like to think of those as your personal issues rather than problems with ride. Yes the lines are long, but other than that there are no "problems" with the ride.
  4. ^ I toke that they meant different Wing Coaster.
  5. So the Gatekeeper project was a Kinzel or Ouimet or both thing? But if we think Mr. O is going to bring in a little Disney style, shouldn't we have seen a little on the Gatekeeper project? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see some time in the theming on attractions, but Mr. Ouimet knows where he is working, Cedar Fair, he knows this isn't Disney. I do see that he is taking a different approach then Mr. Kinzel, I just hope he takes it all the way.
  6. Yes, but i believe he is quite heavily involved. And on a sort of related note, is anyone heading up to the park tomorrow I feel we are lacking some recent photos of the constuction project. Heavily involved with the media? Yes! Did I hear from him that S.O.B was coming down before you did? No. I hate to live in the past but its already been written who told me and yes I think I was called a Troll at the time? Doesn't really matter now, but he might have an opinion with the big shots but they make all the decisions my friend! Lets move forward now. I will be happy with any new ride but a stand up. King Cobra was my favorite and now that I'm older I prefer to sit! Mantis ruined any stand up for me! I meant he is right along side the deception, weighing in, but not necessarily making it. Don, feel free to weigh in here.

  8. Yay? Oh god, please spare your self the torture they will put you through. Read the terms of service.
  9. Yeah, that was kind of what I was getting at. Cause if they were electromagnets they would that would take away the whole "Drop Tower is safe even if the power goes out" aspect about it. I kind of always assumed you guys would have pointed it out earlier, but my father seems to believe only electromagnets can display that level of force.
  10. I have been wondering do they make certain seats more accessible on purpose, or does it just happen?
  11. No it's not, Insane Speed at Janfusun Fancyworld doesn't have a zero-g roll either. Here's a picture of the roller coaster. I'll be honest here- that ride looks very fun. Makes me kind of want a floorless to be what pops up on the old SOB site...but then I remember what such a coaster would mean for Vortex's fate...they would only exist together for a few years, probably... I see what you're getting at, you might be right, but other rides have have stayed. I'm going to point your attention to the corkscrew (best thing I can think of at this time of the night), it is an arrow, I believe, and I know Mantis isn't a floorless, but that is from what I see, one of Cedar Point premier invention rides, along with raptor and (not really) Mavrick. But who nows(some one). And if it is, it probably to lessen the blow when Vortex is leaving us for a better place, because the addition might not be the murder, but the uncle that helps you get through it.
  12. Those have to be pretty strong magnets.
  13. So I have a question. The series of magnets running down the bottom of the tower are just magnets, they aren't electro magnets. I find it hard to believe that they are just magnets slowing down a very fast traveling, very heavy gondola.
  14. I'd just wait until you arrive at the park and once in evaluate the crowd situation, see how big the it is when you get in make your desion after seeing what it looks like, but remember the crowds grow as the day goes on. But I think you might want to splurge a little if this is kind of a rare occasion and if your going with your friends make memorable for everyone. If you really want to get your money worth, pass or no pass, arrive when, or even before the park opens would probably best. And most importantly ride Firehawk. Oh yeah and the other thing about having fun, but ride Firehawk. Hope you have fun.
  15. Heading to Cedar Point today!!!

  16. Not in my eyes. Ride Sally Ride-> Horse reference,-> Horses are scared of snakes. Seems to relate to me. But did we guess "Diamondback"? They are great at misleading you. I don't know, but I would hope they would take the time to really set this up. Not just use a name that was just happening to be laying around, and spent the extra few bucks to make it perfect. Purchasing the copyrights for a name wouldn't be a major issue. Still assuming it is a roller coaster, I mean I am. But most likely this project, what ever it is, it'll have a substantial price tag.
  17. We all seemed pretty confident on the "mustang" title for the B&M looming over river town. They really fooled us all, I don't think it'll be so easily to guess the name.
  18. ^Awesome!!! I hope they continue to add more and more teasers, just like these.
  19. This is a little late, but now that school is out, I'm going to have some more time to do this kind of stuff, and go to Kings Island!!!! After a long boring bus ride, we arrived at Kings Island, and no matter how many times you come to this place if never gets old, seeing the all of the rides on the horizon just awaiting for the park goers to climb in to the seats and just… have… fun. We entered the park around 9:30, but I had to wait with all of the other students, but i enjoyed watching them take in the majesty of just the beginning of this fresh (to them) environment around them. But after like 20 minutes they played the national anthem, which one of friends believed to be the russian national anthem(remember this). They opened the gates and we all streamed in we ran all the way to Diamondback, which apparently isn't going anywhere. We speedily rushed through the queue, and up into the station. We stepped into the gates for the second to last row, along with my friend logan (who's this was his first roller coaster). We began our assent up the hill, I look at my anxious friend as he nervously whipped his sweaty hand on his pants. As we began to crest the hill, he held on for dear life, we began to plumet. As we came out of first drop, with my hand high in the air and looked over, logan was smiling, the largest grin I'd ever seen on his face before. He screamed RUSSIA !!! (jack said "i can see russia from here" on the way up) and we all scream russia in unison throughout the entire ride. After Diamondback two more times (still chanting "Russia" every time) we rode The Beast two times. they all seem to like it. After that they all wanted to ride The Vortex, but no way we hit up backlot real quick, not bad, but it wasn't there favorite. We then rode Vortex, I made specific that we were sit in the infamous 5-1 and we began out accent, with logan tell mouthing (or it was to me) "this is LOAD", and I nodded in agreement, as we hit the top of the hill, I screamed "here we GO!!!", and logan began to scream, i then laughed at him as we hit the pre drop. He then screamed for real. We got off, rubbing our necks, trying to keep out heads attached. We then set off for X-base... We journeyed to subsection of coney mall in witch I adore. Though Jack and Kieran didn't want to ride Firehawk, cause apparently it causes pancreatic cancer, but I managed to get them to agree that logan needs to try it ( Cause that is reason *roles eyes ). After waiting in the longest line all day (like 12 minutes), and Logan saying this is a long line, we then beat him up. After riding Firehawk, we all seemed to like it (me loving it!), Logan loving it for the first time, Jack and Kieran admitting it was ALOT better then they remember it. We then rode Flight of Fear they really like the whole theme aspect of the ride, and they LOVED it, the launch, the flips, the turns. They just loved it. We then rode The Racer they liked it. After the always wonderful ride on The Racer we rode Flightdeck, but on the way i peaked through the fence. and friends apparently thought that was insane(I don't know). They really like flight deck, and as always with new flight deck goers I scare them as the other train pulls in the station, and the our train slows down, but it didn't have the same affect with Jack chanting " role back" "role back" the entire ride. After another ride not getting out of the cars, we decided to ride Invertigo then eat lunch, but instead we rode Drop Tower twice (again not having to get out of the seats). We eat lunch by Invertigo, then we rode (not logan) Invertigo twice( not having to get out of the seats ). We then ran to Delirium and waited outside the entrance because it apparently was down, but it opened up fast and we hopped on for a relaxing ride of Delirium. For the next hour and a half we rode Diamondback 11 more times. And it really doesn't get old, but we had to begin to leave at four, but we, at least sneaked one more ride on The Beast and set off back to International Street. And as we left I wasn't sad about leaving, but was just happy to have spent a (school) day here in the most wounded place on earth with my closest friends.
  20. When, and if the tracks and supports begin to arrive where would the be stored, for constuction?
  21. Very much so agreed.
  22. I now present with the much anticipated trip report that nobody knew about until now. Day One: The Arrival After a month of anticipation, the day finally arrived. At 1:30 I was called to the office. I left the school and proceeded to the Port Columbus International Airport, and board our flight. After a one hour and forty minute plane ride we finally met the ground again. We picked up our baggage and rented this car. Well not that car but the same color and model. We drove to Marriott World Center. This Hotel: After droping off our bags, we headed to some pizza place. The Pizza was extremely good (the pizza place was called pizza Xtreme), though next door there was a zumba gym and it was loud, and I mean loud you could feel it through the wall. But afterwards I played tag with a couple of friends because we all went together. We finally went to the hotel and jumped in the pool, it was around 10:30, though little did we know the pool closed one and a half hours ago ( at 9 o’clock ) we were shooed out of the pool and I headed to bed. As I slowly drifted asleep I could feel the anticipation for the inevitable fun that was to come.
