This sounds fun! I want to check this out, but I have no plans to go to Worlds of Fun anytime soon. Side note: When I first saw this thread, I though the train at WoF had actually been robbed. Good thing this is not what I first thought it was!

^^For that matter, there was one time when I was riding Vortex last June when this boy about my age was sitting right behind me and saying the F word constantly from the time the train crested the lift to when it arrived on the brake run. I had to cover my ears the whole time! Worse, it was my last Vortex ride of that day. Not a good note to end on...

I'm a teen as well. I remember when bad language and carelessness wasn't so much of a problem because I never heard it or noticed it. Now, it happens way too much. (in my opinion)

My biggest pet peeve at KI is bad language. I've heard such words mainly from other teenagers on too many of my visits, especially this year and the last. If you know me, you know I absolutely detest bad language! I try very hard not to let it ruin the fun I have. And thankfully, I've succeeded.

I've been to Tattoo/Freedom's Call before! But I haven't gone for a long time. I found out this year's Freedom Call is tonight; hope I can go! As for the pedometer topic, I'm planning to buy one soon just so I can measure how many steps I take during a Kings Island visit.

Trust me us below 18 year olds get the same sick, painful feeling getting off Arrow-Loopers. If anything the headbanging is even worse on us! I've ridden Anaconda, Corkscrew, Loch Ness Monster, and Vortex and I got sick after riding all of them. Corkscrew is probably the least painful IMO. That's probably true for at least some, but not all. I'm 15, and I don't get a sick or painful feeling on any Arrow loopers (granted, I have a stomach of steel)! Since I have a habit of relaxing during the ride (which is quite helpful), the little headbanging I face is hardly a problem. The Arrow loopers I've been on are Vortex, Corkscrew, Viper (at Darien Lake), Anaconda, Loch Ness Monster and Tennessee Tornado and all of them are fun! But that's just me. Everyone's different.

Shouldn't it be Nahtanoj#? Actually, it should be nahtanoJ#. I'm actually a bit sad that #Jonathan will be gone soon, even though I only saw it in person 3 times in my life! (so far; I'll be going at least another time before the 13th)

^I was thinking the same thing!! To be exact, I thought "What's with Six Flags and their wooden coasters?!?" I understand they're older rides and all, but there's also nothing wrong with them staying a little longer...

I wonder how long it took him to get to 10,000 on Millennium Force! On the topic of counting, I like keeping track of all my rides. I've kept track of every single ride I've taken to the present day using a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. 61 rides on The Bat, 78 rides on Diamondback, 241 rides on Vortex and counting...

I do not know if I will make it on the Coaster Crew day, but I do know that I cannot be at the park anytime from July 12-19 because I will be in New Orleans.

I have now started to post the PTR from 6/02! I'm also working on the 5/23 one, but I have decided to post the 6/02 one first while the details are still fresh in my mind. As a "preview", I'll show a few pics of a couple of the things I did:

My school's last day was on Friday, May 30, so going to KI on June 2nd was one of the ways I "celebrated" that. Since a handful of schools are/were still in until June 5, I figured it wouldn't be too crowded. I was pretty much right. Although the waits for the rides weren't walk-ons, the most I had to wait was only 20 minutes for Diamondback. The least I had to wait was a cycle-length for a couple of the Planet Snoopy rides I rode. I had originally planned to be there for ERT, but we didn't get there until about 11:00. But whether what time it was or not, this was our first time visiting during the day after 3 evening visits. For once, I didn't have to worry about running out of time! The first place we went was Planet Snoopy. I was itching to ride a few of my previous favorites from 2007 and 2008! The first one I rode was the Fairly Odd Coaster/Woodstock Express. Since I had not been on this ride since 2009, I was far from used to hearing "Woodstock Express" instead of "Fairly Odd Coaster" in the station and on the lift hill. I still vividly remember the light purple track and supports, the pink train (Wanda) and green train (Cosmo) and hearing "Welcome to Cosmo and Wanda's Fairly Odd Coaster. Please remain seated..." halfway up the lift hill (I didn't really hear the rest of it because the train was already at the top by then). The wait was only a couple minutes. I rode in the back row on the yellow train. The ride was still so familiar to me even after not riding it for about 5 years. The only things that had changed were the name, the spiels, and the colors. The experience was exactly the same as I had remembered! Granted, I had never rode in the back seat on this ride before, since in 2007 I was very picky and only rode in the middle or the front. I had, and still have, NEVER ridden Avatar/Surf Dog. I was hoping I would get to ride it this time, but it was closed. It was testing at some times during the trip but it never opened. Next, I headed to Plankton's Plunge/Kite Eating Tree. The wait was only a cycle length. I was the first person in line for the next cycle. I rode on the end seat on the side facing the front of the park. Next to me was a little girl who was riding with her father. She was laughing for almost the whole ride, which made me laugh a little as well. The ride was already fun as I remembered, and this experience was making it better! Like on Fairly Odd Coaster/Woodstock Express, I had to get used to hearing "You're not gonna get this kite!" instead of "All hail Plankton, or you take the plunge!". Just because you're growing up doesn't mean you'll stop enjoying Planet Snoopy. Big kids can enjoy it too. Next I headed to Runaway Reptar/Flying ACE, my first full-circuit inverted coaster (and the park's only invert with a powered lift). The wait was a 5-train wait (about 10 minutes). I rode in the second row. Like the others, it was just as I had remembered, although it was a teeny bit shakier than I remembered. The next former favorite I visited was Phantom Flyers/Linus' Launcher. The wait was a cycle length. I had a nice mini-flight for the first time since I last rode it in 2008. I was getting a little hot by this time, so you all should know where I headed next-- --to Wild Thornberry's River Adventure/Race For Your Life Charlie Brown, Kings Island's oldest Arrow! I rode 2 times. The wait was about 5 minutes each time.On my first ride I rode in Boat 5; the second one was in Boat 19. It was a very good way to cool off! I joined the line for Diamondback. Although it was a bit lengthier than I hoped, I knew it would move fairly quickly. I had not been on Diamondback since October, so a ride on it was WAY overdue! I rode in Row 6 on the Green train. This was my first time riding Diamondback since when it got the seatbelts. Thankfully, they do not affect the exhilarating ride experience! It felt so good to fly down that drop again!!!

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw/heard them yesterday on the way out of the park. They sounded amazing! I'm so happy they are at Kings Island!

(I have explained another time that I use Handheld NightScene mode on my camera for pics like this. That is why Katie almost looks like a ghost. ) I gave hugs to all the other group members. The last words I said to them that night were “See you next Friday!” +Adventure Express: 1 YTD: 2 Total: 32 +Racer: 1 YTD: 2 Total: 14 +Vortex: 3 YTD: 6 Total: 233 +Backlot Stunt Coaster: 1 Total: 2 +The Beast: 1 Total: 12 Notes: -Met a KIC group for the first time since Media Day! -Met UnrealNightmare for the first time (nice meeting you, by the way ) -Didn’t get to ride WindSeeker -Short lines! -Chilly, and the slightest bit rainy. It didn’t rain very much, though. -WindSeeker was open all evening until it closed sometime during the last hour. -There was an ‘80s song playing in line for The Beast (think about it…a song from the 1980s on a coaster that opened in the 1970s. -Crew was really quick in checking lap bars on Adventure Express -the potato fries that ohiocolts had were REEAALLLYYY good! (P.S. ohiocolts, LoraX, Beastie1980: I’m also expecting trip reports from 5/16 and/or 5/23….that is, if you want to write them )

We decided to head to The Beast next. I wanted to go to Diamondback, but I decided to stay with the group. During the 10 minute wait, we listened to a Veggie Tales song played backwards on Katie's cell phone. According to ohiocolts, part of the song sounded like “Deeee-turtle! Sleeeee-po man!” I also took an audio recording on my iPod, and we watched some FunTV. And don’t forget, we all hugged ohiocolts not once, but TWICE! Or at least twice; I forgot to count. I sat next to LoraX on my second ever Beast night ride. I didn’t keep track of who exactly sat where; I do remember that ohiocolts sat in front of me (I know this because he was waving back at LoraX and I when we were going up the first lift hill ) It was great flying through those pitch-black tunnels again. It was a chilly ride through the fog and stillness of the woods! After that ride, we split. I wanted to get more rides on Vortex while the others rode something else. I told them that we could meet at the big noodle a.k.a. #Jonathan after closing. Since it was just after 9:50 by the time I got back to Vortex, I only had time for one ride. I rode in row 7-1, on Train #3 again. I decided to check if WindSeeker was open, but unfortunately it had gone down just minutes before and wouldn’t open again for the fireworks. Oh well, maybe next time I ran back to Vortex’s entrance right when the fireworks were starting, but the attendant who was moving the trash can to block the entrance would not let me through. Since this was the very first time I had this problem, I started to panic and was near tears, since 1. This was NOT what I planned, and 2. This had never happened with me before; I act very strangely to unfamiliar situations like this. But knowing that I had told the attendants in the station about wanting to know (and check) if WindSeeker would be open, I knew they knew what I was trying to accomplish. So I ran back to the exit in one last attempt to get to ride Vortex during the fireworks. The last train was still waiting and had not left yet, so it didn’t hurt to try. But, to my delight, they let me on! One of the attendants opened the exit gate and let me back onto Train #3 (which had been waiting since I left to check if WindSeeker was open) right as they were starting to check the restraints. There was no one in line, so I wasn’t cutting anyone. I was really happy and very thankful that they let me back on even though it was technically closing time. If they didn’t, I would’ve had to miss the last train, along with another shot at a fireworks ride, and that would’ve made me unhappy. I know there are many other opportunities during this season, but still… I ALMOST missed the last train and that fireworks ride, but I made it! It was undoubtedly one of the closest races against time that I ever faced. There were five other riders on board. I sat in 2-1 next to one of them, and we enjoyed the last ride of the night together! It was my 233rd Vortex ride and my fourth Vortex ride during the fireworks! After that experience, it was now time to say good night. I said good night to the attendants, and also to Vortex and WindSeeker and the rest of the park. Although the park was closed, we weren’t done yet. We still had to meet the rest of the KIC group at #Jonathan! So we headed there. After taking a group photo (or two) of us in front of #Jonathan we started heading towards the Front Gate, walking past all the brightly lit shops and the majestic Royal Fountains. Meanwhile, someone had the idea of walking like a dinosaur, so for half the journey we were all walking like dinosaurs! (well, all except the grownups ) Thanks for the tip, jcgoble3. It will be effective starting with the next trip report. Don't worry, I'll be still using this thread (to link to the full-length PTRs); I just won't be posting 100+ photos in here.

May 16: Making the Most of 90 Minutes! Although we only had an hour and a half to have fun at the park, I knew I would still have a lot of fun with…KIC members! After posting on KIC about possibly meeting at the Eiffel Tower at 8:20, TurkishDelightBGW (Mom) and I left at about 7:30. We got to the park just after 8:20. Once we got in, we headed straight to the Eiffel Tower only to find that no other members were there! TurkishDelightBGW then texted momofbeastie1980, who immediately replied that they were at Adventure Express! So we immediately headed over there. We saw ohiocolts and momofbeastie1980 by the entrance to the Express, and the others were riding. I went ahead into the queue to see if I could catch up with them, but it was no surprise that they were not part of the almost non-existent line in the station. Clearly, they had been swept away by a train before I showed up. I walked right onto Row 5-1 on Train #2. The attendants were really quick in checking the seat belts and lap bars, making it go even faster. A very nice ride on AE followed! After exiting, I met the rest of the group, which included UnrealNightmare, ohiocolts, LoraX, Princess Sparkles, and Beastie1980. After sharing a large number of ohiocolts’s potato fries, we proceeded to Racer. Both sides were open. Well, they were until it was time for us to board. ohiocolts and I had boarded the Red side. Most others in the group had lined up for the Blue side, but it just had to be the time that Blue went down with a technical delay. So they walked over to Red and ended up being one train behind us. After a fun ride on Racer, I found that there were still some potato fries left. I ended up eating them all. My apologies to those who had wanted some more. After the rest of the group had re-joined us, we decided to check out X-Base. We weren’t interested in waiting in Flight of Fear’s lengthy line, and Firehawk appeared to be having troubles. So we walked right back to the Coney Mall midway without riding anything. We then headed to Vortex, which had no line. And I mean NO LINE whatsoever! When I got there, the station was literally empty except for a couple attendants. Of course, a few others including the group had arrived by the time I was about to board. We were on Train #3. I rode with Katie in the front seat. It was a great 231st ride ever on the favorite ride. I really wanted to ride WindSeeker, but no one else wanted to. Except for ohiocolts. I followed the group to Backlot Stunt Coaster. Even that line was short, so we only had to wait a few minutes. We rode on the Blue train in the first 4 rows. I was in Row 2. It was my very first night ride on BLSC, and it was great! After that fun ride, I told the group that we should do a group picture in front of Vortex, since it was nearby. We took a few pictures, including the best one that had a train flying through the batwing behind us:

5/23: -Rode Banshee for the first time since Media Day -Saw Beastie1980, momofbeastie1980, LoraX, Katie.Greg, ohiocolts and UnrealNightmare again (and I waited in line for Banshee right behind Fire-Beast-OF FEAR!) -One of my rides on Banshee was a twilight ride (and my very first twilight ride!) -Line for Banshee moved very fast the second time I rode it -Lines for some rides (including Vortex) were really short; I was able to marathon/power-ride Vortex and get 3 rides in before the fireworks! -My very first fireworks ride on WindSeeker! It was incredible!
