If this is a small gci I feel for the public relations team for the park. Hyping a coaster since the Waterpark announcement last year and it turn out to be a small run of the mill wood coaster. A small GCI would have been nice if it had been twisty. But this layout is anything but twisty. P.s. Please capitalize GCI.

Oops... might help if I actually include the silly picture . . . Meanwhile, it would be kinda neat to have that part of the park open up some more. I love the new look of the Grove, but for it to become something of a midway, with a new coaster entry adjacent to it would improve the feeling of "no man's land" between the wet and dry parks, imho. Really with the green Intamin track? Lol

Great layout, I still think there will be an inversion after the turn around heading back to the station. If no inversion(s) to add into this simplistic layout, I'd be worried about Racer or Woodstock Express leaving the park.

Beast is a stud. Its line was shorter with Son of Beast in the park, but it still sees long lines and plenty of riders in 2016.

Vortex is a stud.

That would create such a bottleneck! Too much traffic on too narrow of a path.

Here's an overhead view of X-Base: Really I don't see how they expand X-Base without removing the red maintenance sheds or Racer. Now my understanding is it's not very cost effective in construction to have to do the same thing twice. If those mainteinence sheds are not due to be replaced, then Kings Island would be shooting themselves in the foot to tear them out to rebuild them somewhere else. Now if they are not in good condition and new ones can be used, that changes things. I used to be on team complain about the box in Rivertown that is used sparsely, but now realizing it is a legitimate structure that was not cheap to construct I completely understand it staying around if it can serve a pourpuse.

As is, X-Base doesn't have the means of egress or utilities currently in place for that much more foot traffic to be introduced into that section of the park in my opinion. I already feel like I'm brushing shoulders with people when walking under Racer. Also note before SoB didn't affect Top Gun when they both were at the park..

Team giga have your eyes on Action Zone the next few years instead. That's seriously the only rational place for a giga to go without Racer leaving the park. I doubt a giga would replace Vortex, that puts it too close to the seclusion of The Beast. Seriously SoB station and queue is fully intact, and the direction the station points would so work with a giga.

I believe what at least 1 other member on this board said. Because seeing this layout, it's got to have a heartline roll for the layout to make sense.

I rode Mean Streak for the first time these last two years, and I don't understand the complaints of it being rough. I thought it was a great wooden coaster, and look forward to riding it every time I visit.

I was hoping this would be a wooden coaster, a Maverick-type ride, or a log flume. Glad to see a wooden coaster, but have to admit with the layout I'm seeing, I'm really hoping for an inversion(s) or multiple airtime hills. After this coaster I will now be hoping for a giga using SoB's station to open 2019/2020. Edit: unless I'm seeing this wrong, and project 2017 is actually a log flume.

I wouldn't be so generous to call it food.

Construction is going slower on this project than other coasters in the past. Because of this, I think this is going to be a small giga rather than a big one.

They take better care of their wooden roller coasters.
