  1. Just wondering how they gave you an extra wristband? Don't they attach the wristband for you? I know at Cedar Point they do!
  2. ^^ If that is an issue, which i don't see why it would be, then have it at one flat rate....no mulit-person discount. I see nothing wrong with getting a group together last minute in the park to save a few bucks.
  3. Thanks for the advice but the wife and I always have stayed at CP or KI ( not last year do to pregnancy) during the Fourth of July and always have a blast and never any issues with crowds, then again it's our weekend away from screaming kids, so even if it gets crowded, it's nothing a Fastlane Plus, hotel room, and a cold beverage can't offset. You got to have at least one weekend away from the screaming kids! No need to say anymore!
  4. Now if this is around the Cedars buildings, this could get interesting!
  5. Maverick is Fast Lane Plus this year! Should be interesting to see how that helps the line out! With regular Fast Lane the past two years, that line was ridiculous!
  6. From my experience with Gatekeeper, your butt needs to squeeze into the seat (its a big seat), then it all comes down to where the lap restraint hits your thighs! On Gatekeeper media day i was 6'4" about 270lbs 38" waist, i have a big frame and carry it well , i could sit wherever with a little slack in the belt!
  7. With Gatekeeper, its how well your butt fits in the seat and how far the lap restraint comes down on your thighs for the belt to buckle. The vest is very comfy after they released the locking/tightening mechanism. Im 6'4" with broad shoulders and never had issues on Gatekeeper, however, Raptor can be very snug at times because of my shoulders.
  8. I had my wife sew in zippers on the pockets of my mesh shorts. Works great.....phone, line candy, and wallet fit perfect! I have cargo jean shorts, but walking around in the heat and humidity all day, those tend to get heavy and cause me to do that weird/funny walk that all guys know about.
  9. Never been to Kings Island, do the FL lines go directly to the station and what's their ratio of FL vs regular line?
  10. Banshee shouldn't be on FL+ for the same reason why Gatekeeper was removed from FL+. It will be a people eater! Save the plus for low capacity rides!
  11. Not sure if you have seen this or not, but here is some station platform video from Gatekeeper.
  12. This could be the equivalent of your parents finding out that you discovered what all they bought you for Christmas back in the day....snooping around where you shouldn't be! And they end up taking all of them back and you get coal instead! So if we see them starting to remove footers and then announce that Mean Streak is being relocated to Kings Island next year for the "new ride" .....we all know why!
  13. If you don't buy Fast Lane or Fast Lane Plus, wait to ride Gatekeeper until later in the day! On friday July 5th, at 6pm i waited 20 minutes for a front seat ride! The line for Raptor is shorter later in the day as well!
  14. I don't think we will ever see MF lifthill style supports on any of Intamins coasters, that was "old technology" as it was their first Giga. I believe they said with that support structure they could reach a height over 700ft, not sure where i read/heard that, but i remember it. It does look nice all lit up at night though! I305's looks "intimidating" with its lack of support! I still have to get down there and ride that one!
  15. Fast Lane (Plus) ? Thats probably the only tip i could offer someone that has only been there one time, especially visiting on a July Saturday!
  16. Last year Cedar Point sold a limited amount of entry tickets for $25. Anyone needing tickets might want to keep an eye on their twitter/facebook pages for info being released tomorrow about their Christmas in July "present"!
  17. As soon as Cedar Point announces that they are removing Mantis....Kings Island will announce their new ride...lmao! I know, won't happen, but a lot of the footer patterns, maybe updated a bit, somewhat resemble the layout of Mantis! Boy would all of you be upset!
  18. Hopefully this isnt the same type of hype that Shoot The Rapids had at CP! Everyone had an idea of what it was going to be, but the false clues lead to getting your hopes up for something that isnt even close to what it is, but would rather of had than what was actually being built. I don't think this is the case with this ride, but i would rather have no clues versus false clues! Not saying any have been given, just stating my dislike of the way that PR handled Shoot The Rapids! It was fun for them, but can have a negative affect if taken too far! I miss the days of showing up at a park and being surprised that a new ride was installed. Those days are loooonnnng gone!
  19. ^^ Those darn things always seem to find me as well! I usually just end up looking like a Ninja! I can't even imagine what you went through being allergic, and pretty much a sitting duck.
  20. If it is an invert, i'd rather hit some LSM's mid-way through the ride and thrown into some crazy, out of control elements! The "modern second lift", . A first for B&M of course.
  21. The piece in the back....isn't that too tight of a twist for a Wing Coaster train?
  22. Speaking of the seats....the "big boy seats" (row 4 on Gatekeeper), i can sit anywhere on the train at my size, but there is maybe an extra inch of belt...thats it! I thought the seat or restraint would be a little bigger than the regular seats, but the belt is the only difference. Great ride!...not for the forces, but for the experience! Extremely different than anything else the park offers! Don't expect airtime or extreme forces....although i did grey out a little at the bottom of the first drop.....just ride it for what it is and you will enjoy it! A very graceful, smooth, different coaster experience!
  23. You mean they finally designed a restraint that's more comfortable for larger riders versus the "skinnier" rider?!?! I'm 6'4" and about 260, I thought Gatekeepers restraints were the most comfortable OTSR's I have ever experienced!
  24. I think the reason behind starting early is.....wait for it......because they can! The Ground is cleared, the area has no impact on daily operations, and the weather is nice! I dont think it has anything to do with the size of whatever is coming for 2014. If every park could build new attractions during this time of the year, im sure they would all take advantage of it! Or maybe its an intamin and just needs as much time as possible to work out some of the bugs their rides always have!
