I've been wanting to visit Dinosaurs Alive and I'm sure I will before the end of the season. I don't see it as a long term portion of the park though. If/when there is another major park addition (2018+) I envision it being on that land.

My cousin swore he heard SOB crash trains from his house all the time, including once when a train derailed completely during testing.

Those who can decode BM stickers say that the supports spotted at CSF are inverted. It could be coming here.
-
If they're coming to KI, soon. Days, less than a week?
-
What parks have construction that would be nearly ready for supports outside of KI?Edit: Beat me to it.
-
That may be true. I may never get a chance to find out.

This is a direct copy from the temporary thread that for some reason I couldn't resist posting in with some of my thoughts. I hate saying it but the size and layout of the footers resembles Silver Bullet at Knott's, especially now that more have been poured and they've gotten kind of crowded. I can't explain the triangular footers though. It could be a new element or a refined support method. http://rcdb.com/2536.htm?p=0 It's really still too early to make a final guess though. I wouldn't hate an invert and Montu is one of my favorite rides, but I'm being kind of selfish and hoping for a twisty floorless with lots of inversions because I've never ridden one.

Thursday around 12:00 there was a 30 minute wait. I've never been so happy to wait in line because FD was actually getting some love for a change.

You're not alone on Vortex beating the tar out of you nowadays. Wonderful report.

Inverts aren't "bad" rides I'm my opinion. Each ride is a different experience. I absolutely love Montu but Raptor is rougher to me . It could be the way my body reacts to the pacing and placement of elements on the ride. It could also be factors such as age, elements (weather), climate, or preventative maintenance of each ride over time. There are other factors at play when it comes to what people think or want KI to build. Are inverts out of date? It's debatable but I feel like so few have been built recently because larger parks already have one (or more). Kings Island could fit one in for sure but I think X Base would be more fitting since it's (somewhat) themed to flight and extra terrestrial experiences. Add in the fact that Action Zone already has Invertigo and Flight Deck with cars below the track and suddenly that type of ride seems less unique and wouldn't stand out as much.

How tall are you and what kinds of rides do you enjoy

I'm not grave digging just to grave dig here... I was wondering about Tapatalk and did a search of the forums before posting a new topic and I found this. I've searched the Tapatalk forum database and did not find KIC under any criteria I tried. I'm assuming that means it's not enabled. Would it be possible to do so for those of us who access the forums primarily from mobile devices?

Sundays in October usually are not that busy.

Move One Ride from Anywhere in the Country to KI
JTW replied to MarketingExpress's topic in Coming Attractions
The message was that it will literally spend most of its time in the down position while loading and unloading. It had nothing to do with mechanical integrity or lack there of. -
Drop Tower SHOULD be my favorite ride by leaps and bounds as it is the only thing that raises my heart rate significantly every time I get on.

He uses it to his advantage because he doesn't want to ride big rides. I have to talk him into almost everything that will be a new experience and once he tries rides he can't get enough of that particular ride. He literally tried to climb over me when we were next in line for Viking Fury but afterwards he loved it.

Wood: The Beast. No exceptions. Steel: Diamondback.

7-25 Last night at work when I was turned down for voluntary over time I decided that I would be getting up early to take advantage of ERT for the first time this year. After rolling out of bed around 8:30 and leaving the house a little after 9:00 I got to the park around 9:40 and made my way in. This morning was somewhat chilly by July standards so a near walk on for the front of The Beast finished waking me up and got me ready for the day. As I sometimes do I paired up with a solo rider to fill a row and it seems that every time I do this I'm more and more comfortable talking to strangers. If you've never gone to the park alone or ridden alone try sparking conversation with someone sometime. The ride itself was standard Beast. The brake shed didn't seem to jerk the car today and it was very smooth by wood standards. Every ride I've taken on The Beast this year has felt that way. Next I strolled past BLSC and thought I'd give it a shot since I haven't ridden it in a couple years but it was down. I kept walking to Vortex and got in line. This has always been a front seat ride for me and today was no exception. I've come to expect this ride to be rougher than newer steel coasters and it was as I thought it would be. What I didn't expect and have never experienced on Vortex was a slight grey out during the second loop. I suppose I'm not as young as I used to be. After Vortex the park seemed very empty still so I thought I could capitalize on that and hit X Base. I chose Firehawk first because it's line was short and normally it's a capacity nightmare and I skip it. Today I did not. Everything was going fine until the ride went down. I stuck around for a few minutes and it came back up quickly. What I did notice was that one park guest waited while the ride was down then left the line once the operators sent an empty train. I thought she must not know how repairs work because when you test equipment you're usually verifying the repair is complete and you're almost ready to roll. The ride was enjoyable and made me wish it were more effecient because I really do like it, I just won't wait awfully long or buy FL Plus as a local. I guess while I was in line and riding Firehawk the rest of Ohio woke up and came to the park because it suddenly seemed busy. Next was Racer. Only Red was running but the wait still wasn't too long. I really enjoyed the 70s rock music in the station since that's the era this ride was from and my parents, aunts, and uncles talked about Racer fondly from when they were young. The ride was fantastic. I didn't remember Racer having so much air time. I think my butt only touched the seat for five seconds the entire ride. It was much smoother than I remember and I'll have a hard time passing it in the future. I almost always ride Adventure Express. Today was normal, I just usually do it earlier in my route since I consider it a warm up ride. It was a standard AE ride. The only thing that was out of the ordinary is that I noticed how close the 2014 construction really is. There are footers poured right against AE's layout. By now the park was very busy and I considered going home. I didn't though. I strolled by the construction area and started the long walk back to Flight Deck. I'm happy to report that I had a thirty minute wait. I love that this short but sweet Arrow is getting some attention from the public. This was another front seat ride for me. I feel like the view is great and it's pretty secluded in the corner of the park. I do want to note that the 2014 construction is also right up on FD also. There was no concrete but there was a flagged hole. You can see it for a split second at the turn around right before the approch to the brakes. After this ride I made my way home at about 12:45. I feel like I got a lot done at the park and I enjoyed a day to myself. The weather was absolutely perfect. If only every day could start like today did, I would have no stress in my life.

There was a time when I never would have gone alone but nowadays I appreciate the alone time.
-
I agree with that, but I grew up on the original so it's slightly ahead in my mind. I did love SOB in it's day though for sure.
-
I have not ridden all of the choices listed but out of the ones there my favorite is The Beast.

Miss a few hours, miss a lot.

I guess I'm twisted but I really think it's kind of funny how worked up everybody got. It's not hilarious, but definitely humorous. I did indeed drive by last night but it's literally less than five minutes out of the way. Had it been any more there is no way I would have driven over there based off of unconfirmed rumors.

If anything was going on, it was over and it was too dark and foggy to see. I guess whoever goes tomorrow can confirm or deny any activity.
