  1. I thought they referred to them as Mega Coasters, hence the MC tags on the track codes.
  2. When we get a giga, I'd wager it won't be a small giga. It'll almost certainly be the tallest giga anywhere when built. If you are already going to spend $25-$30 million on a ride, why not spend a few more million to have the built in marketing and draw that would bring?
  3. I wouldn't expect any kind of big announcement this weekend. They may hint around at things or throw more diversions out there, but actually saying what they are building won't happen. They haven't even opened their 2016 attraction yet, and there is a lot of Summer to go. They won't want to do anything that would diminish what they are doing this year, or worse, make people put off trips to the park till next year.
  4. So not talking makes you more intune to information that is not public that is not told to outsiders who have no connection to the project? Guess you can learn the darndest things by reading this site! I am not questioning Terps knowledge but he has said it many times that he has no connections to the park. All the cryptic "clues" are nothing more than "It could be or could not be this or have something to so with this." All of the newbies to thw site who haven't seen his statement about this automatically think he has insider knowledge or ties to the park. Nothing wrong with it. Just confuses those who think he does. Some if the thread bumps are nice since we never would have seen them otherwise. You ever hear people in the media saying they can't reveal their sources? They know. They have someone on the inside who told them. If they did reveal their sources and everything they know, their sources would not tell them anything again and possibly lose their jobs. That's the case here. He has insider knowledge. Whether he should be dropping hints at all is another issue, but I'm guessing his source knows and they've discussed the ground rules about what can and can't be said.
  5. The reason he knows, is cause he doesn't tell.
  6. I'd put the odds of them getting a coaster this year, and another next year or the year after very low on the list of possibilities. Somewhere behind KI getting a Cowboy Coaster with Intamin credits.
  7. The only reasons to put things off are if they have to. You just cost yourself more money to wait till later and rush construction. Oh and a reason that they won't be keeping the trees all up close to a coaster path: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/roller-coaster-hits-tree-strands-riders-20-feet-in-air-for-hours/
  8. Have you ever ridden El Toro? Blueprints are used for a lot of things. Including new paths for existing rides, new funnel cake stands, new game buildings, etc. No, the park clearly posted pictures of The Racer when talking about their 2016 announcement. People made assumptions based off of that and others fueled the fire. But the park pr team was clearly part of the trolling. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/633720491895877632 They also posted another pic of The Racer on Instagram. The PR team has been known to post stuff in response to stuff that goes on on this board. Call it trolling or call it good PR, or whatever. It happens. Edit: https://www.instagram.com/p/6igkolOOKX/
  9. This is the same PR team that trolled us into thinking something was happening with Racer at the end of last year. I wonder if they can use those Intamin credits to squeeze an El Toro clone in there?
  10. So they do teasers for non coasters? Interesting.
  11. They really can't force you to pay. Ask for a manger. The guy running the gate may not be able to do anything, but his supervisors can. If that gets no where, request they call the police to make a path for you to exit.
  12. They just did one of the major key snaps of Firehawk. Should pretty much squash the thought that the Diamondback snaps had anything to do with the new ride.
  13. Theme it to a lumberjack and saws instead of planes.
  14. These are the same people who posted all kinds of pictures of Racer when touting their 2016 announcement. I wouldn't put too much stock in any of the hints.
  15. They are replacing the pumps now. Or at least recently. While we certainly can't rule out that they are doing footer work for a new ride back there, I wouldn't think they would wait to install the pumps till now as an elaborate cover. Too much can go wrong with new equipment to intentionally delay it. The rehab excuse to cover up something else works whether or not that are actually rehabbing or not.
  16. The new WWC path is over to the right, and already built in that area. Could be fixing the landscaping from the construction of the path. Concrete trucks and other equipment tend to rut up dirt areas.
  17. I didn't say that the contract was being renewed. I didn't say that the person who said it was renewed was credible. I said that moving DA to Rivertown based on what we are seeing now so a giga could be built on the DA site was plausible. It is plausible. It is believable. It is a reasonable idea. Ie - has an appearance of reason. It's just as plausible as a giga in Rivertown at this point.
  18. The original person who posted about the DA contract has not confirmed that it was signed, therefore, it is speculation, not credible. You might want to look up the definition of plausible. And nothing has been confirmed on any of this including there being a ride built at all, so its all speculation, and therefore not credible to you.
  19. I was trying to come up with a cornfield themed coaster myself. lol
  20. And scrapping DA is still a possibility. We really don't know what kind of business it does. Personally I felt it was a waste of time and space from day one, but I'm not the target audience. If it's still profitable, they may see the value in moving it, refurbing it, or just keeping it like it is.
  21. But if the land that DA currently sits is more suitable for building a coaster than the Rivertown lot, and they want to keep it, it could make sense to move it. Think of it this way, if it costs $1 million to move DA and do the site prep for a new ride at the current DA site, but costs $2 million to prep the rivertown site for a ride, it makes more sense to just move DA. And those are just hypothetical numbers before anyone tries to get technical. The DA site appears to be an easier place to put a giga though.
  22. Yeah, if DA opened in 2011, and was indeed a 5 year contract that wasn't being extended, they would be gone already.
  23. Well, unless you have confirmation that the contract isn't going to be renewed, its plausible.
