  1. The Crypt/TRTR building is not on the map. Was it on the 2014 map? (It is on the map on the 2014 phone app.) What if anything could it mean? Later, Mark
  2. I was talking to a guy at work the other day (another season pass holder with kids) about the petting zoo. I as a 42 year old big kid enjoyed it in Oct. for Haunt (as well as the trick or treating) But here is my concern---How bad will it smell in the summer with 90 degree heat and most of the park downwind of it? Thoughts? Later, Mark
  3. When I am kind of wishing there was no mandatory work next week so I could go to my sisters house in Alabama and make a side trip to Atlanta to go to SFOG because I haven't been on a coaster in 4 months.(just looked it up and SFOG doesn't open for 2 more weeks) Later, Mark
  4. I don't know if this will sway you one way or the other but---I talked to some Indy car guys (crew member and a car chief) last Sat.and I was told the aero kits don't make much of a difference even after months in the wind tunnel. There is little difference in the oval kits but more in the road course kits.(You know the crews will go crazy and start stripping pieces off of them on Pole Day no matter what as always) I for one will be at IMS that weekend as well as the weekend before and after. Later, Mark
  5. I may be in the minority here but the OTSR on OLFOF were a lot better than the ones on Vortex. if I recall correctly the FOF ones were thick soft padding where the ones on Vortex are much "less soft". Was there also a lap bar on OLFOF as well as the OTSR's?---That I can't remember. Later, Mark
  6. If I recall correctly the guy that gave us the lights on tours of the 3 haunts on KIC day stated that the arcade/Killmart building was given to the entertainment group for a new haunt. So I think that means the arcade is to be no more. With that said---- A non disguised haunt building will be kind of strange most of the time. Later, Mark
  7. Where is this (or are these)located? Next weekend is going to be long and cold so I might check them out. Later, Mark
  8. I'm guessing you went on Friday or Saturday because you didn't mention all the Colts fans rumbling around.(Lucas Oil Stadium is attached to the convention center) Glad you had a good time as Indy is my "home big city". You might want to keep in mind that Indy hosts a GenCon event in the summer.(That is a sight to be seen as it has been held on the same weekend as the MotoGP race in the past.) later, Mark
  9. Sorry for the late update but I worked nights this last week so... Update---Me and mom went on Mon. we got in for ERT and dang near got run over multiple times on the walk back towards Banshee and The Bat (I love people run to get to a ride that wasn't running yet---Banshee hadn't done its "test runs" since we got into the parking lots) so I sat her down at the new waiting area near Banshee and rode The Bat twice(last one in the rain)then waited out the rain and went to the arcade---she played while I went to FOF---then I joined in on the fun and we ended up with 2000+ tickets. Then on to DA---Mom really enjoyed it even though we got drenched again on the way out of the valley. (there were a few little ones around the age of her great grandson) Thank goodness for the multiple benches along the path they helped a lot as we needed to stop frequently. We did everything we wanted except for the ET (was closed when we went by) We left around 7P.M. Best day ever---Not quite but pretty close. Later, Mark
  10. Thanks for all the Info--- I saw the forecast for Sun. (off and .on ugly all day) and Mon. (mostly good with some ugly in the afternoon) ( We will probably do 1 lap of the park and then bail out somewhere in the 2-4 pm range, just going to go with the flow) so we went to the casino Sun. and we will be leaving for KI shortly. Later, Mark
  11. So I am planning on going to KI tomorrow (Sun.8-31) or Monday and am planning on bringing my 75 year old mother with me as she has taken me to KI many times through the years. So--- 1. One of her KI mainstays was SkeeBall as she played it while I and whoever else went with us rode rides. We always played at the Coney Mall arcade (that is now being remodeled) so where are the SkeeBall machines currently in operation currently? 2.As a Platinum pass holder how do I make use of the $20 bring a friend deal--- Do I just go to the ticket window, show them my pass and 'presto" a $20 ticket or is it more complicated than that? 3. She is pretty mobile (she uses a cane for added stability) on flat surfaces with some quick rest breaks every few minutes.( we go to the Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 every year and does really well and you should see he go when we hit a casino )Now on hills is where she really gets winded and needs a lot more breaks. We might try DA and going down will be Ok but coming back up will be a challenge. So does KI have something to assist in this situation. IDK one of the workers on a "golf cart" or something? I am just concerned a 20 minute walk will turn into 60 minutes in 85 degree heat. She wants to possibly do that as her great grandson is 2 and loves dinosaurs and may be up here in the future and she wants to experience it. Thanks in advance for the responses, Mark
  12. Maybe they will rename Wicked Twister after L.J. as it goes back and forth as well.
  13. I would like to see a Maverick type of ride at KI,.(other than The Beast after dark Maverick is my favorite ride) Later, Mark
  14. I had a thought pop in my head--- I wonder if these performers have a fear of some of the rides in the park? Later, Mark
  15. I watched then 5 P.M. yesterday (6/7/14) and was really impressed. I tried to stay away from "spoilers" so I would go in there with no expectations. If there was a change to the performance due to injury or whatever I couldn't tell it as the performance appeared smooth and seamless. I highly recommend seeing this to anyone. I plan on seeing this again (if not numerous time) this season. Later, Mark
  16. Thanks for the replies. I will use this info in my decision making. Later, Mark
  17. In early July I will be going on vacation (plant shutdown for 1 week) and my plan is --- Day 1 KI for ERT and a few more hours in the park then leave and head to CP for a little evening riding. Day 2 CP ERT till close (may get FL+ depending on crowds) Day 3 CP ERT for a few more rides on Maverick then leave around noon. Now this is where I need info---Michigan's Adventure is roughly 4 hours from CP (about the same as it would be to get home and from MA to home is about the same) and hit it that night and the next day for a while. Is MA worth the trip? Will I regret not going to MA if I chose not go there? Are there any "must do's" ? I am a platinum pass holder so admission cost is not an issue all I am out is another tank of gas, food and a cheap hotel for another night. I am not a water park guy so please factor that into your views. Thanks for your input, Mark
  18. I won't be making this one. I will be at IMS for the Inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis .Maybe on in the future.
  19. In my opinion putting boxes/bins in the Firehawk and Banshee stations would greatly slow down the capacity of the rides. Firehawk is slow enough to load and Banshee on it's opening season would really not be good. By the way--- I heard a few people complaining about having to get a locker for their stuff while riding Banshee. Basically it was "why weren't we told about this earlier" after being informed by a KI police/security officer about 100 feet from the que entrance. Later, Mark
  20. I know I saw the train running/testing early last week or the weekend before on the Diamondback cam. Why it wasn't running on opening weekend? I don't know. Maybe maintenance had their hands full with all the pre season/opening day/opening weekend gremlins and just didn't get everything 100% perfect. Heck even ET had a elevator stuck on Fri.. Later, Mark
  21. I like clear safety glasses because you can keep your eyes wide open and not squint because of the air hitting you in the face ay 50+ MPH (just like a lot of people wear sun glasses on rides) but at night you don't need tinted lenses.
  22. You take a Sat. off from work so you can prepare for the coaster season. My (partial)checklist: 1. Burner flip phone that fits easily in my front pocket---For park emergency use only.---Keep the "good" phone in the car. 2. Book 2 nights at a nearby hotel. 3. Oil change in the car. 4. Clear safety glasses with a strap to keep them from flying off during a ride. 5. Pack for varying weather conditions. (it is mid April in the Midwest) 6. $.97 rain poncho's (fit nicely in back pocket) 7. A couple Ziplock baggies for your stuff that you don't want to get wet if weather hits or for water rides later in the season. 8. Clean out all the junk from wallet. Later, Mark
  23. Question/thought---I'm guessing that a big majority of opening day attendees are season pass holders way more than on an average day so with that said---Will ERT be of little to no advantage on opening day? The reason I am posing this question is---I won't be getting home from work until 2 AM Fri. and will have to be up at 9 AM to make my 1 1/2 hour drive to the park to be there for ERT. I am debating sleeping in a bit and thinking the Banshee line will thin out around 2-3 PM. Later, Mark P.S. What am I thinking---I won't be able to sleep. It will be like a kid trying to sleep on Christmas Eve.
  24. I know I'm a little late to this but here is an idea for Banshee's name ---Dottie (just look up the movie Armageddon on IMDB and look through the quotes). Later, Mark
  25. How about lights on FoF during haunt? I think that could be kinda scary for some to actually see what is in there with full lighting. Later, Mark
