  1. This is so sad. I hate to hear about things like this. These parks are suppose to be about fun not tragedy.
  2. Looks like I need to bust butt and get my med passes finished so I can go to the break room and watch! I can't wait!
  3. Sitting on the 2nd to last seat on the train and talking to the employee about the new coaster. She said "they said it's suppose to be kind of like SOB but shorter" then gave the zipping her lips sign. Who knows though lol. Just bummed I have to go back to work tomorrow night and will miss the announcement.
  4. To an extent. We live 45 min from KI and 3.5 hr from CP. As a kid I would only dream to be able go to these parks yearly. My kids on the other hand are spoiled. They expect to be able to go. They dont seem to have the same spark as the season goes on like they do when it just opens for the year. My 4 year old has the routine down even with the addition of the metal detectors. He sticks his arms out to the sides and spins around. He also knows to get his hand stamped since we are usually in and out. Especially at CP.
  5. I think what is worse is the spitting. We had to yell at 2 boys in the car in front of us on Shake Rattle n Roll because they kept spitting and it almost hit us.... ewww!
  6. We had this problem on Friday. A group of teen girls kept pushing on the turn style in the line an hitting my husband in the back. We just asked that they please stop and they got quite the attitude about it.
  7. I normally don't mind young kids catching up but these were mostly teens. In my opinion if you are old enough to wander an amusement park on your own then you are old enough to read and respect park rules.
  8. I will have to say that the line jumping was pretty bad today. In the Firehawk line it happened right in front of the worker and he didn't say a word. I usually ignore it but after the 5th time it was pretty old.
  9. My husband despises line jumpers. He makes sure to loudly tell the person that there is no line cutting and to get back to the end of the line like the rest of us did.
  10. I think Banshee needs speakers on both sides of the lift hill. I like the music on the way up and what it adds to the overall experience. I just think it would be that much better if they could have them on both sides.
  11. We went today and Drop Tower still sat with the lift carriage at the top. WindSeeker was down most the afternoon but they said it was due to the winds. It did open in the evening.
  12. Were about 30 minutes back from the ride. I just wish we could get this baby going again.
  13. You should be fine. I'm 5'8" and 240. I can ride everything. The only ride I need a push on is Drop Tower and it seems my chest is the main issue. I do agree though it more about shape than the numbers.
  14. I'm am so thankful to have been in attendance today. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. Thank you Kings Island!
  15. After 9 rides today I can say that Banshee is amazing! I love the theme especially in the dark. I think my favorite part is the roll at the end. I also think the left outer seat is my favorite. We had a wonderful experience today and can't wait to return in the morning.
  16. Can't wait to get some! We love hot sauce in this house.
  17. I love that Invertigo's station music is from Prodigy!
  18. Great trip report! Holy moly was it crowded last night. I dont think I have ever been when it wad that packed. We only rode Delirium, DB, and beast. We also made it through Carnevil, holiday horror, and walked through backwoods bayou. Not much was accomplished but we still had fun.
  19. Hi all. I had mentioned that I would be posting this a few days ago. Sorry for the delay...it's been a crazy week with school. Anyways, I would like to introduce myself since I am fairly new to this site. I have been a long time KI fan and for some crazy reason never knew this site existed...how sad. While we were there this summer we saw some of you with your KIC shirts on and I just had to come see what it was all about and I must say I am now hooked! I look forward to hopefully meeting with some of you in the future. Anyways, my name is Alicia and I am a mom to 4. I have 3 boys ages 15, 6, and 19 months and 1 girl who will be 13 at the end of this month. We spend most of our summers at the park and will be renewing our passes. In fact I think I will be upgrading mine to platinum since I have never been to CP. So enough about me. Here's how our day went. We arrived at the park around noon after my sons soccer game. We decided to start over at the Howl-O-Palooza for the youngins. So we hopped on the train which is a favorite of my youngest boys and rode on over. The first thing my 6 yo saw was the firetruck. He's a huge fan! Next we took them through the Twisted Tales Maze. They got a little bag and were given little trinkets like spider rings and bracelets from each of the characters inside. They all really liked this. Next stop was the Happy Trails Hay Bail Maze. They didn't much care for this and said it was boring and not really a maze since the path only led in one direction, to the exit. Next the 2 little ones wanted to check out Frankie's Waves. This is a little area set up with 2 blowers spewing out bubbles...only one of them was working. My baby loved it anyways. From here we hopped on the tractors at Tractor Town. This was a big hit. I ended up just pushing the tractor for the baby while he rode. Last stop here was the Petting Zoo. This was great! We spent quite some time over here. The goats had a thing for my little guy. While we were in here the skies opened up and it poured. I do think we were in the right place at the right time though. The tent kept up dry and the kids were having fun with the animals. After the rain let up we headed back over to the main park. We did the parent swap and took turns on Diamondback. I usually ride in seat 1 or 2 but after reading some things on here decided to see how the back was. I rode 3 seat to the last and it was definitely a different experience. I love how there is always something new to discover. Here's a few pics I took of my hubby and daughter on it. After this the kids took a quick ride on Linus' Launcher and then on to Flying Ace Aerial Chase. I was pretty impressed with the lines. They got on after only one cycle. Next we headed out to the car for a picnic dinner. When we came back in it was about 5:30. We had discussed as a family about staying for the Haunt on the basis that no one would be scared. They all really wanted to stay, so thats what we did. We decided to start with Delta Delta Die since the line for it seems to build up fast. We hopped in line about 5:40 and waited. 6:00 rolls around and everyone is getting excited for their first Haunt attraction. 6:10...still waiting. 6:15...everyone in line is beginning to get impatient. Finally an employee walks around and lets us know there was a power problem. We decided to wait it out which ended up being only a few more minutes. We were the second group in. I stayed toward the back with the little ones. One on my hip and one on my side. Well that didn't last long. I ended up with a huge group of teenage girls from behind us clinging on to me as well as all 4 of my kids lol. I had to have my hubby help. The baby was indifferent to it all. I think he actually liked the lights and such. The scare actors didn't try to scare them and actually were waving and saying how cute he was. This is why I stayed at the end so I didn't ruin it for anyone else. we were about 2/3rds of the way through when security came running in. They were yelling for everyone to break costume and get everyone out NOW. Then they tell us to breathe through our nose and not our mouth. Something started burning my throat. We got out quickly but never did find out what happened. Well at this point, the 6 yo was in tears for a quick minute and then wanted to know what was next. Silly kid. My 13 yo on the other hand didn't recover as quickly. She decided to sit out the next one. We headed over to Urgent Scare. We met up with a couple of friends and they sat out with my 3 youngest. I was kind of bummed they didn't do the elevator scene that time. Again I had some strange kids hanging on me. I must have the momma look down! Next we went to Madame Fatale's. I enjoyed it but have a hard time getting scared. I wish they would try and pick on me sometimes . The 3 youngest sat out of this one as well since the baby fell asleep. We then stopped for a refill on our drink and were heading over to Carnevil. It started raining pretty good. We were playing around with my daughter and were having the scare actors that were walking around mess with her. Well she didn't think it was as funny as we did. After one guy kept following her calling her name over and over she broke. She started bawling. At this point we were getting very wet, she was inconsolable, and it was starting to get cold. We decided it was time to make our way out. The rain never let up and just kept coming down the whole way out to the car. I was kinds bummed there weren't the wall of characters at the exit gate either. Overall we had a good time as usual. We have decided the 3 youngest won't be going back to Haunt again this season. My 6 yo is pretty bummed about it though. We do plan on bringing them back on a Sunday for rides and Trick-or-treat with the Dino's. One last pic of how our night ended.
  20. Honestly a kids sees just as much gore on the nightly news. I feel TV these days doesn't leave much to the imagination. I'm not even talking about cable. I am very real with my children and make sure they know what is real and what isn't as well ad what is right and wrong. My kids are very well behaved and wanted to go in. I made sure of what they were doing before hand and dont see much of a difference when we go trick or treating. You see costumed and homes decorated up around here to a similar extent. I will be posting my trip report from Saturday here in a bit complete with pics.
  21. I have to disagree on the age restriction. Call me a bad parent if you want. We went Saturday with my 4 kids ages 15, 13, 6, and 1. We went on the basis of staying until someone wanted to go home. My 6 year old was loving it and the 1 year old was indifferent. My hubby and I have been a few times this season alone and have been through it all so we knew what to expect. We started with DDD. The only one who got scared was my 13 yo. My 6 yo did get scared but wanted to go through more. There are a few thing I would not take them into such as hot blooded and ed alonzo. They were a little too provacative. I think every parent should know what their child is comfortable with. Parents should not be judged as a whole.
