Kleig lights? A light show? Did someone contact Marvel? Will Commissioner Gordan happen to be looking up? Stay tuned next week! Same time, same...

I worked on a large chicken egg farm, shoveling beneath the cages for ONE DAY. Believe me, it can be spine tingling.

What year did the trams go away? I hadn't thought about it before, but I don't think their lanes haven't been changed or removed, have they? Because I still feel odd walking that area, looking to make sure one isn't coming.

Is it okay if I take old bags to parks? I have, you know -- but, they weren't loose articles. ... -stinky, who's too much a gentleman to reply to those comments in public.

I have some great pinball on my iPad, but there's nothing like hitting real flipper buttons, and the smack of the ball against the glass. Captain Fantastic was my favorite!

stinky replied to MantisMan's topic in Kings Island
Same here, for different reasons. While we were dating, Tanna kept saying "I'll never get married." So I never asked her. So she proposed to me. She wanted to do it on the Carousel, but was afraid I would drop the ring down a crack. So she proposed on Days of Thunder, with it's concrete floor. Immediately after which, the seats started bouncing comically. (sorry, no matter how I word it, it sounds bad) But I DID HOLD ON TO THE RING. -
Did a search on the forum in case it was an old topic, but couldn't find anything. Abandoned WIzard of Oz Them Park Opens Once A Year: http://blog.roadtrippers.com/abandoned-wizard-of-oz-theme-park/#.Uvf7-bt4hgw.twitter

Oh, Yeah, They Look Great! Makes Me Want To Capitalize Everything!

Thank you! I have absolutely LOVED this tread. Growing up, I was the youngest of 7 kids, with parents who didn't make much money, so we were lucky to get to go once a year. It was a three hour drive to K.I.; we left home around 6am in the '63 Chevy Bel Air station wagon, and had to leave before the fireworks so my dad could wake up for work. This brings back so many great memories to those times!

Since I'm paranoid about losing things, it pretty much all gets secured. K.I. sold (not sure if they still do) wateproof plastic containers, about 3x4x1", big enough for my ids & cash. I also went to Dicks (which carries the same, sans logo) & other sizes. In the boating section, they have what look like SUPER-heavy duty ziplock bags, made for kayakers to put cell phones in (and the phone can still be used while in it). I got some small tethers & miniature carabiners, put them on each AND my keyring. Now I walk around K.I. looking weird with a bunch of short pieces of cord clipped to my belt, going into my pockets.

If not for a few naughty words, I'd say the Pogues' Celtic lullaby of things that go bump in the night, "Sit Down By The Fire," would be fitting. http://youtu.be/qgdxSvDfBBg Lyrics: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/p/pogues/sit+down+by+the+fire_20109736.html

I agree, I feel like there are certain rides they shouldn't remove with the Antique Cars being on of them, but then things like Thunder Alley made sense to remove. The Antique Cars were always a hoot; another way to relax and still be doing something. (closest replacement is Woodstock's Whirlybirds, except the nephew & nieces are too old to be an excuse to ride it now.) OOH! Must get Tanna to tell you the story of her cousin's work experience on the Antique Cars.

Party horns blowing! That photo shows the colors beautifully. It's two degrees out, and I can smell the ride grease, sun-heated paint & food booths already!

The queue music is going to be either David Bowie or "Any Way You Want It." Unless as a newcomer, I misguessed that this is another hint. Most likely. That, and I just read the "Theme" thread.

If by animal, you mean slug or turtle. I just kind of meander...

I remember you said he was in the clown band, but being 30 years older, I can't recognize him; is he the one behind Mike?
-
Kings Island made an attempt to bring back the clown band for the 2009 season. I auditioned and was set to play percussion, but they had trouble filling spots in the ensemble. Entertainment management actually asked me to inform students, where I taught private lessons at the time, to come in and audition. But it's quite a challenge to revamp something like this on short notice. Another attempt was made for Halloween Haunt in 2011. I pitched the concept of a creepy haunted clown band and they had already began working on a concept for a Louisiana cajun style funeral band. That too was a no go I do hope they one day bring back the clown band as I felt it was a staple for the park! A Dixieland Funeral for the Haunt! With a carried casket! That would have been sooooo boss.

I would love to see the public's reply to the "Batzel". That would be golden. " Golden Batzels.". Well, there IS a new chef for new food ideas, and the food hut signs have been taken down...
-
I hope they put it on display! I'm such a geek about watching mechanical music- carousels, street organs, hurdy gurdies...

Doesn't sound familiar to me. http://twitpic.com/do971a

Increasing the width of the loop could be a simple way of increasing the length of the track through the loop without increasing the radius, keeping it from scrubbing off energy (thus speed).
-
I love the actual coaster; especially since it has a pause & second launch; but the theme has always seemed lame. The idea of Antique Cars is absolutely cracking me up! Seeing some Model T shells flying around that curving track wouls be hilarious. (that flame DOES feel fantastic come cooler weather, however!)

They spoke backwards, then reversed the film. Also, fool me once... It IS The Bat!

From Twitter: Kings Island‏@KingsIslandPR On this date in 1980, Kings Island announced it was building the world's first suspended roller coaster, the "Bat." 9:58 AM - 29 Oct 13 Hence, yesterday's tease may not be a tease.
