  1. I just meant that KI's theming, which is getting better, is usually simple and if they do go big with the end of the world theme, I am down. But at the same time, I don't think there's anything wrong with a simple, maintainable theme. AE's theming was incredible, but most of the effects no longer work and the entire context of its grand finale is completely lost without that lava effect. So for me it is hopes versus reality. I'd love for them to continue delivering great theming, but I also want them to deliver theming they will keep up with.
  2. Or an alien invasion. Although, the more I think about it, the more ambitious an end of the world theme seems. It just seems a little grand for KI's theming. I guess one idea could be that you are evacuating and thus attempting to escape whatever the threat may be. But I think a simple space theme could go a long way.
  3. That's what they can do, turn TRTR into a movie theater!
  4. The billboards, signs, license plates, and the new Kill Mart facade are just references to classic rides, both current and former, including Monster, Racer, Wild Animal Habitat, and of course, Zodiac.
  5. Even better, what if it did a barrel roll?
  6. My guess is any hidden element would be more along the lines of what they did with Mystic Timbers.
  7. For whatever reason, when I was really young, I was intimidated by King Cobra and wouldn't ride it. As I got older, there was a huge chunk of my life where I hardly went to the park and during that time, they removed it.
  8. Maybe it's to finally build those bathrooms in X-Base?
  9. "Captain, we've encountered a strange anomaly. It appears to be made of concrete and is in the shape of what people in the 21st Century would call 'a hashtag.'"
  10. For some reason, whenever I click the link, I get the change page for a hot second and then it goes to white. I have to literally stop the loading to stay on the page.
  11. That would be a good follow up to the horror elements of Mystic Timbers and a great compliment to Flight of Fear, assuming it is an end of the world theme. Imagine if the queue had a "broadcast" similar to the infamous Orson Welles broadcast. Coincidentally, they used to play "The Darkest Day" from David Arnold's Independence Day score on The Beast's lift hill and the final cue for The X-Files' pilot episode used to played fairly prominently throughout Haunt. I am not sure if it still does.
  12. I am not sure about as a rollercoaster, but I know the trademark exists for a certain Disney-owned blockbuster. Now I am not sure if that would get in the way, because it has been out for 21 years and diving into copyright quandaries can be like jumping headfirst into a black hole. My favorite copyright story involves Ghostbusters. Over a decade before it came out, there was a Larry Stork show called The Ghost Busters. They initially weren't sure they could call it that, so they tried other titles, such as Ghostsmashers. Somehow they were able to use the title, but when it came time for the animated series, for some reason Filmation was doing their own version of that Larry Stork show, and thus gave birth to The Real Ghostbusters. But anyway, if there isn't another ride by that title, then I believe the roadblocks would come from anyone owning the trademarks that affect merchandise. I doubt Disney is still selling shirts for Armageddon, but they have at one point. I am not sure how long those trademarks last, but if they or anyone else still has them, Cedar Fair would either have to change the title in some way (like throwing a number at the end of it) or find a new title. Although, granted, like I said, copyright stuff is kind of confusing, and I could be wrong about this stuff. EDIT: Also, if the coaster has an end of the world theme as the teaser suggested, then I don't think Cedar Fair would want to use name Armageddon, as the similarities to the famous disaster movie of the same name could draw some unwanted attention from Disney.
  13. D'uh, you're right. For some reason, I was still on the mindset that the letters were out of order and had to be put in sequence. D'oh!
  14. I'd be on the lookout for more tape-overs. I also wonder what the chances are of another decoder message starting on Monday.
  15. I've ridden Blue more than Red this year, but I feel like my experience on that side has been way rougher than the other.
  16. Could it perhaps be themed to an asteroid, alien invasion, giant monster, or some other form of 1950s era B-movie/sci-fi goodness?
  17. So back if the teaser phrase for this giga is "It's the End of the World As We Know It," could Son of Beast have been "Everybody Hurts?"
  18. Just because a ride is old doesn't mean the park should get rid of it.
  19. But have they taped over their contract?
  20. Yeah, I was never quite behind the "peeling off" scenario because they'd have to figure, as evidenced in your photo, some bozo out there would try to peel it off themselves and voila, there goes that epic reveal. I think these changes mean something. I am definitely convinced that if the sequence number "changes," it means that the poster's letter is used more than once. But what I can't figure out is what the changes to the statistical data means. The best theory is that the larger numbers are hiding stats to the rides, but why change those numbers? Are we supposed to subtract the original stats from the updated stats? Whoever thought this up is either completely insane or utterly brilliant.
  21. I am assuming that when the sequence number is changed, it means that the letter appears multiple times in the word/phrase. For example, O would be at both Sequence V and VII.
  22. "This means something. This is important."
  23. I've never understood VR on rollercoasters. You'd think riding one would be spectacle enough.
