  1. I was just down in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for my brother's wedding but didn't get to Dollywood. I haven't been there since the early 90's and can't wait to go again. I've heard mixed reviews about Mystery Mine, so I hope I like it when I finally get to ride.
  2. I've never had Krystal, but hate White Castle. When I was a kid, my dad used to threaten us that if we weren't good, we were having White Castle for dinner. If you want a REALLY good little burger, go downtown Miamisburg to the Hamburger Wagon. It's just a wagon on the sidewalk that sells these little burgers with onion, pickle, salt and pepper and they're amazing. You know you're in for something good because there is always a line for these suckers. Thankfully they just closed the White Castle here in Kettering.
  3. I lined up with all the others last year for Club Blood because it was new. I don't think I'll hit it this year. Like it was said before, it wasn't even remotely scary. I didn't even think it was all that "sexy" either. Just confusing. It went from like a club to a hospital with a pregnant vampire? I didn't get it, and neither did the folks we were with. I think it was hyped up too much.
  4. I'm interested in the 2009 pass +1 (didn't get a pass this year because I bought my first house), but it doesn't give the price or what it costs to upgrade to gold.
  5. ^Me too about the train. I refuse to call The Beastie by that other name.
  6. Both have a hill and not much airtime.
  7. But...but...The Voyage has strong laterals and even more ejector air than Raven. Why don't you care for it? You should care for it like you would little puppies that arrive at your doorstep.
  8. I can't vote because I was only 2 for my first time. That was 1981 and I have no recollection of it. I have a picture of me there, though and I'm holding a balloon. So I guess my best experience was holding that balloon. I really could hold balloons back then, boy. My worst experience was probably when the balloon floated away, ran out of helium, or was popped. I don't know the details of its end. But who knows....maybe that balloon is still out there...watching.........waiting...
  9. I was scared when the guy riding The Beast in front of me got his arms chopped off when going through the final helix with his hands up. OoooOOOoooOoOOoOoo!! The government covered it up!
  10. ^ Ah, thought you were referring to the first where mistake. Regardless, we can't be jumping on correcting all spelling and grammar mistakes on these boards or that's all the posts will be full of. Everyone makes mistakes. I would assume that as long as they get their point across, the people who are reading can live with it. Besides, without internet spelling mistakes, we would never have been blessed with the term "pwned"!
  11. Plus it's not were it's we're as in we are. For example: We're on our way. The other would be: We were on our way. To combine: We're on our way. Where were we going? We didn't know. By the way, great start to the trip report. Never been to Vegas myself....yet.
  12. Wow, Magic World. I went there when I was a kid too. I remember the magic carpet ride and the maze there. Cool that they have Fascination. I miss that at CP.
  13. I like HW's 3 woodies better than all of KI's coasters combined. But that said, I went to HW twice last year and both times the park was pretty dead so just about everything was a walk-on. Sounds like heaven, right? Well, I'll tell you, when you've ridden all of their flats a couple times, and all 3 coasters multiple times in the first 4 hours; there's really not a whole lot left to do there (this was when the water park was closed, mind you). After getting beat up (in a good way) by their coasters and riding everything else, I was wishing there was more variety. So I go with KI just because of the pure quantity of rides over HW. There is a lot more to do and see at KI to keep you involved all day. At HW it's like: ride Raven, Legend, Voyage, repeat...with some flats thrown in (their freaky glowy-eyed bumper cars destroy KI's for speed and power). They're growing at HW though, so the more they do, the more variety they'll get.
  14. Wow. After the last post I feel like I'm from some other planet. But seems like I'm on one that's well populated Raven is incredible. It's got speed, airtime, great turns. Only drawback is that it's too short. When people say it's too short that usually means they loved what they got and want more, which is totally the case. That's when the Legend is; More! It's got more airtime and more incredible turns. Compared to the double helix on SOB, yeah, Legend isn't a rosebowl, but it's a lot better. And it beats you up with thrills, not bad design. It doesn't seem like there's a straight piece of track on that thing except for the station and lift. Riding it at night is like nothing I've ever been on. Pitch black and totally unpredictable. Then the Voyage takes things to a new level. It starts off like a hyper coaster with a couple big hills, then goes into insane wooden coaster mode. It then seems to defy logic and get faster and faster nearing the end and that's without the need of a second lift. Holiday World's woodies were built by coaster designers who knew what people loved about woodies and turned it up a notch. There is nothing like their collection.
  15. Love that pic of the carousel with the fireworks behind it.
  16. Don't forget KI has The Beastie (or whatever it's called now.) And Adventure Express isn't a woodie. It's got wood supports but has a steel track. Just like Gemini at Cedar Point. Voyage, by contrast, isn't a steel coaster though it has steel supports. HW wins in the "Woodie War" hands down.
  17. I never got why they play that song for TD's (um, they're playing football, not going to work and they're not drummers?) but I like the song because it means they've just scored a TD, and that's a good thing!
  18. Yeah, the "show" will be the viewable sections of the new coaster as it flies by. But, yeah, that'd be great if they brought some of the "show" back to the train. CF does seem to be trying to recreate memories from KI's past, so who knows. Doubt they bring back the Smurfs though.
  19. Probably for the head banging. They should come standard with Vekomas.
  20. Yeah, seems like they've been saying they want to use it at Jungle Jims forever, but I thought that was one of those things that was never going to actually happen. Nice to see that they're close and even have Fall 2008 as a goal.
  21. I was all pumped for it like 2 months ago. Then I didn't do any running and now I'm a little relieved because I wouldn't have been able to jog the whole thing. I'll be ready for next year though! lol
  22. Wow, did you guys read all of those comments below the article? The people there went ultra biblical on this topic. Talking about how handicapped people are being punished by God for previous sins. Then they talk about stuff worst than that. Just....wow.
  23. Superdawg is a very good hot dog joint there as well. Here's their site http://www.superdawg.com/ Very old school and you even get cute little boxes that your dog and fries are delivered in. When I went last year we were trying out as many hot dog places as we could. I think we had 5 different hot dog meals and all were great and unique. Next time will need to be a pizza trip. Also, the Museum of Art is excellent. You can get lost in that place, but it's a beautiful place to get lost in.
  24. Welcome Titans. Yeah, I remember that water tank thing. I thought it was more in the Rivertown area though. I could be wrong. I got no info on the International Restaurant.
