New for 2016 at Kings Dominion: Delirium
rhyano replied to Delirium13's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I saw that too but via Screamscape... hmmm, I smell an RMC transformation maybe... Hurler is getting "Extra maintenance" apparently -
They took the trim off in mid 2014, after it was unnecessary and replaced it with a sensor so they can have 3 trains running at once
-
Also based on the Banshee Cam, there seems to be a crane at the end of Banshee's zero g roll, hopefully the trim isn't returning

Matt Ouimet Talks About Cedar Fair

Theme parks that are still here and not a failure -
It seems like Kings Island is really focused on games this year

Security, IIRC. However, that is a four-way crossing, with park guests crossing both ways on foot on a public path while park vehicles cross on backstage roads. This creates a slightly more complicated procedure where, after the trains have passed, park guests will continue to be held while waiting vehicles are waved through, and only then are the gates for the guests lifted. The crossing on the WWC entrance won't involve roadways, just a mostly one-way foot crossing (mostly because you will occasionally have guests chicken out, or a breakdown/weather shutdown causing people to leave the line), so it will be much easier to manage, and so I would guess that it will be handled by rides associates, most likely part of the KI&MVRR crew given the proximity to the Rivertown station (and the likelihood of incorporating the gate closure into normal dispatch procedures). As for StormReady, this is the first I've heard of KI getting that certification, so I do believe it is the first year for it. It would not surprise me if some of the materials (signage, gates, etc.) from STR's crossing were sent down here and reused on WWC. I've seen them get the "StormReady" stuff, but I don't think I've seen it posted on social media for a few years

What Kentucky Kingdom needs to do, I am skeptical that there will be a 2017 season

Matt Ouimet Talks About Cedar Fair
rhyano replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Could be talking about regional -
Just thought of something, what if Cedar Fair is relocating the railroad crossings at Shoot The Rapids to KI? Just a thought

Tim has posted: The Lightning Rod ERT will be replaced with Thunderhead ERT, and everyone will receive a free one day admission to go back to Dollywood when Lightning Rod is open

How long does it take for testing for each ride would you guys say? Diamondback still has one train (I think) on the track right now

Ouimet has from day 1 been in control. In Kinzel's book he said the 2013 coaster for CP was supposed to be another giga. Obviously there is nothing but his word, but I believe Kinzel would be crazy enough to do that. That being said some people think Fury 325 was supposed to be that coaster, but got moved to the "CP of the south" by Ouimet to fill a gap. I think Ouimet's approach to parks is to fill gaps before going outside the box. What really is going to show how Ouimet operates his parks is when it comes down to the next KI coaster and whether or not the next coaster for CP fills the flyer gap. Five year plans get extended like Terp said but that doesn't mean things can't be evolved to fit new funds. IMO atleast obviously I'm just some enthusiast. Each park to have every B&M coaster in B&M's lineup, before going outside the box track? Seems to be the trend. Also I agree CP would have been better off with a Fyler than a drop coaster, in my opinion.. Heck a decent woodie would also be a nice addition at the point. I am hoping a woodie goes in place of Shoot The Rapids at this point, but lets get back on topic

I hope the park won't look like an eyesore in a few years....

Former SFNO May Be Sold
rhyano replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sold for $2.50! (joking) but that is a lot of land that someone could do something great with, I am hoping the Jazzland project is still around and maybe they can turn it around again, but have my serious doubts -
It is just the land the park takes up right now

Probably digging up green Intamin track they've been hiding from us.Ha I wish!
