Was Drop Tower working yesterday, the 9th?

You wouldn't have happened to have made your complaint and pointed them out in The Racer line to security did you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk No, it was The Beast line. And the line was so long. At first, I used my cell phone to make a PM complaint. Then, I wondered how often they read their PMs. I then called the main desk. I was told to let the staff know when we got to the front of the line. When I did so, I was told their policy. I honestly didn't want the young people removed from the park. I just wanted them to be warned about their behavior.

Love the weather forecast. Hoping the videos change from time to time. I don't want to see the same ones all summer. Like the fact that there are trivia challenges. Like the fact that there are different types of music.

Although very crowded yesterday (the 3rd of May), the lines weren't quite as long. The food service vendors we visited had plenty of staff. The Racer still has the coolest music in the park.

I really get upset by line jumpers. Usually, they are a bunch of teens who want to ride with their friends and just push their way through. I know, I know. I should just relax. At any rate, yesterday a group of several youth cut about 50 places in front of me. Due to his clothing, one of them really stood out. When I complained to the staff, I was told that this was a shame, BUT more than one group of people had to complain for them to even talk to the kid and his gang.

That's what we do. Usually, since I'm MOM, I take everyone's stuff.

I think there is A LOT of confusion among the employees. The season long plan says "no drinks." I bought the season-long plan, and drinks were not included when I and my family ate at The Festhaus for lunch and Hank's Burrito Shack for supper. When I ate at the Festhaus, the cashier exclaimed, "Man, I have no idea how to ring this up with your pass!" A supervisor came over and helped him. I know that some people have gotten drinks. I just think it's because the employees are learning the process.

Happy birthday, Kings Island!

When waiting in line for the Banshee, I heard an announcement that no fanny packs were permitted.

Dalefan, I realize that discrepancies will happen, and I'm generally pretty cool with others using Fast Lane passes. What I really hated was the single rider line abuse on Diamondback. People would show up in matching tee shirts, get into the single rider line, and would sometimes get on together. I had a huge argument with a worker on one particularly hot summer weekend day. She was sending 6-10 single riders at a time! It wasn't a good thing.

We have had passes since al least 1986. We have never had a problem until this year. I'm so glad we saved the receipt! As for being stuck on rides, so far that has only happened to me once. Although I love to ride the rides, I have a tremendous fear of heights! Each time before I get on Drop Tower, I pray, "Oh, God, please save me from my stupidity and don't let this get stuck at the top. You know I'll die of a heart attack!"

Charley, thanks for the copy. When I asked, I was told that they weren't permitted to give out this information because it wasn't "set in stone."

We rode 9 rides yesterday during our 11 hour stay. The first two rides were during that half-hour for gold pass holders. Regarding Fast Lane passes, in principle, I don't have a problem with them. BUT I think KI should have a standard ratio set across the board as to the number of Fast Lane: Regular Riders. The Beast was pretty good. It seemed like 1 Fast Lane Pass to every 4 Regular Riders. Diamondback was 1:1. Firehawk was "always let FLP go first." Each ride and operator is sooooo different.

Has anyone had any trouble with glitches of any type so far? Our biggest problem was opening day. Our entire family went to the park. We'd all renewed our passes last fall...even having them double-checked. They even let all of us in to Halloween Haunt several times. What happened? We start through the gate and one of my daughter's passes was expired! We didn't have the receipt with us so they let us through on the condition that we would get the problem resolved by guest services before we left the park. Guest Services went round and round in circles. We even called my house so that my husband could pull the receipt and give them the transaction number. They couldn't find the transaction number in their records. An hour later, the supervisor assured us that he would have the problem resolved that evening. We returned to the park (with receipt in hand) early yesterday morning. Sure enough, her card was still expired. The supervisor in charge yesterday told us that the other supervisor had issued my daughter a new card. Uh, no. We gave them the receipt and waited about 15 minutes while a new card was actually issued. Then, we added our meal plans to each card. Thankfully, everyone's card now works.

I rode Diamondback with seatbelts. I didn't notice a change in airtime. I did notice that it seemed to take the crew a little longer, but that could just be "getting back into the groove of things." The line did take a long time, but there were a lot of Fast Lane pass people going through when I was in line. It was one train for regular people and one train for Fast Lane people.

We purchased our meal plans yesterday. It seems to be a very good deal. While at guest services, they let me look at the list of the foods available from each participating vendor. When I asked them to make a copy for me (so that, being the parents of 4 teens, I could plan ahead), they said they couldn't give me a copy...even if I paid for it. For lunch, we went to the Festhaus. Basically, since they have dinners with sides, you're set. You can, however, exchange the fries for one of the items in the cooler. For supper, we went to the Burrito place. We ordered HUGE taco salads and received chips/salsa on the side. None of us was able to finish the meal.

Small things that need changed at Kings Island.

Get boxes to put our things in on both Firehawk and Banshee -
Short and sweet. Didn't really like the 4+ hour wait. lol! Loved the ride!!!! Hated the fact that, once again, we are getting ripped off by having to rent a locker or leave a person out of our party. We cheated a bit there. We all waited in line and just traded off bags. But it really sucks if you're a lone rider that day.

What part of Banshee did you enjoy most?

I selected "Other." I like the fact that it is so fast and yet so smooth while it is doing all of these things. -
I called Kings Island this afternoon and spoke with a lady there. She said that, in order to find out which restaurants are included, one needs to go to the website www.visitkingsisland.com. Then hover over Things To Do and click on Dining. Any restaurant with the ALL DAY DINING PLUS logo is included. Sadly, Auntie Anne's is not one of those. Of course, we can hope that she is wrong.
