Good one Sparky

depending on your rehire status will depend if you have to go through an interview to come back. Just be a good little associate and do you job you will be fine. However most supervisors have to go through a rehire interview just so their managers can find out how the previous season went.
-
thanks for adding that info. Like he said, the earlier you come the better. We have been known to have applicants waiting for hours and hours. If you can't make it to the Job Fair the HR office is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 11am-6pm, through the end of the month. Next months hours have not been announced yet. Once again I strongly reccommend that you fill out an internet application no later than 48 hrs in advance.

a good point

There is a Job Fair on February 18 and 20. All departments will be present to interview for open positions. Please keep in mind that as of last Saturday at 7:00pm the park was still not hiring 15 year olds, but putting them on a waiting list based on when they turn 16. Any interested applicants should fill out an online application at least 48 hours before attending the Job Fair. Feel free to leave any questions here that I can answer.

^I would be willing and I am sure most people would be willing to make a few sacrifices here and there if it would allow PKI to compete with the big dogs such as Disney. When that happens, the park will have access to the newest innovations in amusement park rides and attractions, which will then satisfy the die hard fans and ACERS out there who constantly yearn for more thrills. To go off what Klockster said: The park knows what it's doing and we should support their decision, in the end it will be worth your while.
-
I am going to have agree with Klockster. One thing that people seem to be overlooking is the fact that PKI is a business. They are in it to save and make money. Don't get me wrong without die hard fans and season pass holders, we wouldn't be much, but the decisions made are for the best possible outcome. There is no way that a company this size can please every single customer, anyone who works at the park knows what I am talking about. Lets take a look from the business side shall we..... Ok lets say theoretically it takes 1,000 associates to run the daily operation of the park for 1 hour. Let's also theorize that the average payrate is around $7 an hour. Ok so we decide to cut one hour from an operating day. We are saving close to $7,000 just in that one hour. And it's not like there is a huge crowd at these hours. Ask any employee, the first and last hour in the park, there are more employees than guests with the exception of a few nights (Saturdays). It's not like we are shutting down the park everyday at 1:00 so that associates can go to lunch. By cutting an hour here and there it is allowing the park to stay in business, yet still allow for Joe Citizen to afford coming to the park and expect everything that is expected. This also allows us to keep ticket prices down. Can you imagine paying $63 to get into PKI? How about $60? It costs one adult $63 to enter one Disney park in Orlando. While PKI can't really compete with Disney (for another discussion) they are a good measuring tool. I personally think that our ticket prices are not bad considering what you get, if you want them to stay affordable, while still experiencing everything that you have come to expect something has to be given up. Let's leave it up to this. Should the park: 1) cut a few hours of daily operation or 2) take out another popular ride because there is not enough money to cover the maintenance costs.

Also note that with the exception of the first weekend in October, the park opens at 11:00am on saturdays and sundays in the month of October.

The Italian Job Turbo Coaster
MarketingExpress replied to Skippy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
You wouldnt believe how many people came up to us and asked what a "Stunt Track" is or what it does. Our standard answer was "It's a roller coaster" I liked "Stunt Coaster" best. Who knows at this rate they might change it back to that. -
No coasters will be open for winterfest
-
yes the ride is much better at night. I would highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't ridden it at night.

Italian Job in the Enquirer Again
MarketingExpress replied to MarketingExpress's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
What most people do not realize is that the reservation system is meant to help guests more than hurt them. Lets try it this way, Lets say we open the line at IJST to everyone, we have a 3-4 hour line. You get to the very front of the line and something happens to the ride. You wait around hoping that the ride starts running again, lets say 15-25 mins. The operators then tell you that the ride might not open up for the rest of the day. Ok what just happened, you just wasted potentially 4.5 hours waiting in line for a ride that you will not get to ride. Think of how many other rides you could have gotten on in that 4.5 hours. Had the "ride reservation" system been in place the line would have been controlled, no more than 30 mins long. You would have been able to ride whatever you wanted while waiting for your reservation time to come up, and then only waited in line for 30 mins or so had the same thing happened. -- Don't get me wrong, I think that if someone wants to wait 4 hours to ride and have to possibility of not riding at all then that is their call, but they shouldn't get mad at the ride ops because it was their decision to wait for the 4 hours. But you just have to look at it from the flip side that all the park is doing is trying to make the day as enjoyable as possible for all of the guests. -

Thanks for the comment, Its nice to know that someone notices how hard we are working. -
What time did you try to go because the ride was up most of the day?
-
Here is an article that was on the front page of the Tempo section of the Cincinnati Enquirer this morning. It describes the "Ride Reservation" system in place on the ride. And instructions on how to get a ticket. Enjoy Cincinnati Enquirer Article-Italian Job

We don't know that for certain. Don't read too much into this, but I can see Paramount offering free admission to Winterfest with a 2006 season pass. That would make sense and go along with everything else they include in the gold pass deal. But should they do this, the price of gold passes might go up slightly.
-
I agree, Let's wait and see what happens. We will know in a few short months whether this rumor is true or not.

EBay

Not worth making a special trip to ride when I could go to Sandusky and ride almost the exact same ride. The only differences are its slightly taller, slightly faster, and it has a bunny hill. Still has the same conclusion, the only reason it weas built was to break a record. It's not really a coaster in my opinion, just a high thrill ride on steel track.

There is no way they would take out The Racer.
-
Chef, Did you happen to get a ride on IJST? If so, what did you think?

Construction on Flight Commander Site

I agree that the old Eurobungee area would have been perfect to move the Eagles to, but we have to remember that they are gone now and they won't becoming back.
