  1. What exactly would one be complaining about...sounds like most rides had very short waits and the park made some easy money on their new system. Sounds like some employees need to watch what they say to guests about the new system. They may not agree with management decisions, but you don't complain to the customer about it, you talk to your managers about it.
  2. In my opinion...you "get it"
  3. I fail to see how this perk is much different from a perk offered to a season pass holder. Pass holders pay a high price for their pass and in return get ERT, discounts on merchandise, food, and games. Not to mention bring a friend for $9.99 days, free parking, and sometimes evenings open exclusively to season pass holders in the spring (or is used to be that way). http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/admission/passes/gold_pass_discounts.cfm Now KI is offering a $50 ticket to allow John Q Public (including season pass holders) to access the park’s more popular attractions through a Fast Lane and some are up in arms despite the fact that season pass holders have been given the royalty treatment for years yet no one is upset over the perks they receive. Why should season pass holders get a discount on a game or when buying a t-shirt at one of the shops and not everyone else? Am I not entitled to the same benefits; after all I paid $35-$50 to enter the park didn’t I? What makes them more of a valued customer than me? Could it be the fact that individual pass holders made the personal decision to spend additional money for a season pass which allows them to take advantage of such perks? How dare they. They must truly be an elitist if they can afford a season pass (sarcasm). How is that different from John Q Public having the ability to make his/her own decision if they want to partake in the Fast Lane or not? If they choose not to, then they really can’t complain about other people taking advantage of the opportunity as that same opportunity was available to them at the same price.
  4. I fail to see where the principle deserves a complaint... Every guest that walks through the gate has the opportunity to purchase this perk, it's not limited to a certain group (as was attempted by Paramount for gold pass members only). I would imagine that most season pass holders will pass on the opportunity since they can visit the park just about whenever they want. This program seems to be aimed at the 1-2 visit/yr guest that wants to maximize the number of rides they can ride in a single day for an upcharge.
  5. Quite a bold statement regarding the success of KI... Actually, parks makes the least off their season pass holders since they are free to come and go as they please throughout the season, sometimes without spending a dime in the park.
  6. AE has some of the largest seats in the park...and it is one of the highest capacity rides in the park.
  7. Technically parking isn't free, it's included in the price of a season pass during a promotional period which does have an expiration date. However, an annual parking pass is always available for purchase.
  8. The mist machines were removed due to causing rust on the track...it was replaced years later by a fog machines which was were also removed for reasons already mentioned.
  9. ^you think they would have learned from AE when the built IJST...but it didn't take long for them to remember
  10. You would be correct. The fog messed with the fire alarms in a few of the tunnels thus causing the decision to remove the effect.
  11. The music and sound effects are not new. They were there when the ride opened in 1991.
  12. Even if your statement was true, he can't get a good glimpse of the regular operation in January.

  14. To those talking about the train crew must be allowing them to ride in swim suits...keep in mind that the train is not the only means of getting to BB
  15. You would be surprised to hear how many people do not realize that the ship in FOF's queue is really only half of a ship
  16. When it comes to ERT management is counting on WS opening every morning when they come into work just like you when you arrive at the park. I would imagine that most of the closures are made at the last minute and thus sends those same managers into a frenzy trying too find a second ride to open for those showing up. I can tell you its difficult because at the time ERT is to start, employees are just arriving to work. The park is doing the best they can given the situation and despite what you might think, they want WS to be open more than anyone else.
  17. Why would an employee try to park in the gold pass lot? They have one of the best areas of the lot to park in already
  18. Keep in mind that it's not out of the ordinary for a ride to have significant downtime during its first year of operation...especially for a prototype.
  19. The fog was setting off the fire alarms in the tunnel and was therefore removed during the first year of operation
  20. Natural selection will one day catch up with this individual if he continues antics like the one mentioned.
  21. ^The park will never post a read out of the wind speed because the trolls will be gathered around it all day and the minute it dips below the max wind speed they will start complaining that the ride isn't open. This has never been a problem with Drop Tower/Zone in the past and no one seems to question the park's decision when they close it for high wind.
  22. Do you know of any conflicting information which would show the wind speed was 25 mph or less at an elevation of 300+ feet yesterday?
  23. I doubt you will see an attraction placed there. That area is not as big as you might think. Doing so would cut off maintenance access for several rides.
