  1. While many would agree with you, they do not realize the problems that would be created by having to open up 2 areas of the park early.
  2. I don't think any CEO's or employees would take a pay cut so that one of their buildings (or structures) could get re-painted.
  3. Actually seasonal employees are not paid overtime and she would have been paid for those extra minutes that she worked. They are limited on the number of hours they can work in a given week and in a year, but given the fact that park was only open Saturday and Sunday that week, it's very unlikely she was about to surpass that limit. A crew leader is under a tremendous amount of pressure throughout the day and shift changes just add one more degree of difficulty and problems. As far as a replacement, perhaps there was a replacement but they were running late that day or didn't show up for work leaving the crew leader in a tough situation and a "man down" temporarily.
  4. ^If the success of DA falls short of their projections, I don't see them flat out removing such a large investment after a year. I think it's safe to say that this will be around for at least a few years. I would think that they would research different pricing models to see if they can increase the interest in their investment.
  5. Yep, and we have had the pleasure of doing such a thing before.
  6. Please explain the difference when they add something like Diamondback and don't make it an upcharge attraction to make up for the undeniable "higher cost to the buisness". I am totally serious...explain to me how the two are different. Both cost money...Diamondback even more...both are NOT low capacity rides...why upcharge for one and not the other. How do we know that the park didn't pass the cost on to the guests when Diamondback was built... Operating expenses could have decreased, yet gate prices (as an example) may have remained the same or increased by a few dollars. Food prices in the park could have remained the same or increased by a few "nickles" while the cost from the food supplier may have decreased (whether by negotiation of a contract or even buying a lower quality product to substitute).
  7. I believe the Flight Deck music is from Transformers...ironically a movie distributed by Paramount
  8. Not even about the park...you know too much about the parking lot
  9. They did... and we'll leave it at that.
  10. "Lighten up Francis" You will learn with time (if you haven't already) that you can't beat around the bush when posting on this site. If you have a point to make, then make it. You will be more respected on this site if you stick with the facts that are 100% accurate, don't spread gossip that you hear from the "Dippin' Dots guy," or try to glorify a fact by adding incorrect information at the tail end of a true statement. Some of us on this site know more about the inner workings of KI and amusement parks in general than you might realize and we will correct you if you say something that we know is incorrect...but don't take it personally when we do so.
  11. I see, so, is it safe to assume you have facts to back up your claim that much of the information provided in this thread is in fact false? I guess it's about that time to make this comment again... I can assure you that AZ Kinda Guy does know what he is talking about on these forums. Those who know him also know what his qualifications are to be able to make such a comment. As for the specifics that you want from him...I direct you to a famous line used often by The Interpreter... Those who know don't talk. Those who talk don't know.
  12. I'd be interested to hear which control panels you think are removed in the off season.
  13. I wouldn't say "not appropriate." What would be inappropriate would be if one arrived to an interview in a t-shirt and ripped jeans. When it comes to an interview, there's no such thing as being over dressed. The nicer you dress, the more you will be taken seriously during your interview. It shows a passion for the job you are applying for.
  14. Coming from someone who has done hundreds, perhaps even thousands of interviews for KI... First impressions are crucial, firm handshake, eye contact, and smile. Don't forget to dress to impress!
  15. Yes, there are cameras everywhere within the park, and you can't necessarily pick all of them out. It would be very near impossible to make your way through the park and not be caught on one of the cameras. Uh...actually it will if you call from a park telephone. Just to reiterate what Tom said, the security vehicles do have light bars on them.
  16. It will be interesting to see what the investigation turns up and if this was a deliberate act as mentioned in the article. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the families effected by this incident.
  17. I am 15 I get dropped off, and leaving it at home my mom would mad if she couldn't get a hold of me she's afriad I will fall out of a coaster or get kidnapped (like anybody wouldn't notice any of those two)! If you fall out of a coaster I don't think she would be able to get a hold of you anyway.
  18. Indeed you are correct. It should be noted that Vortex is one of the most efficient rides in the park based on capacity per hour.
  19. Actually you have it backwards. Families are the target market and main source of income for the park. Season pass holders are where the park breaks even or loses money.
  20. I've always been a supporter of either rennovating TW or building a new venue in it's place to host a nightly entertainment show (similar Disney's Fantasmic show at Hollywood Studios). They could even find someway to incorporate the fireworks into the show (although they would have to move their launch site for the fireworks).
  21. I'm thinking that the child was holding the cheese cup to his mouth like a cup in order to drink the cheese like a beverage.

  23. ^Very true which will be very unpopular amongst disabled guests
  24. Every ride has safety guidelines which include medical conditions not recommended to ride a particular ride. I’d be interested to know if this man’s condition falls under any of those categories and thus the man would have been riding at his own risk. Could this incident have been handled better…absolutely. Someone should have stayed with or near the two left on the ride to make sure everything was ok until they were ready to try to start up the ride again. When you add water to any attraction it creates a whole new set of problems when it comes to evacuating a ride. None of us know the reasoning behind the decisions made that day, but I’m sure the safety for the guests and the employees was at the top of the priority list. Whenever a ride vehicle stops somewhere other than the station, the safest place for a guest to be is in the ride vehicle (except in extenuating circumstances). If the “cast members” could have gotten this gentleman out safely, I have no doubt they would have, but they made the best decision they could given the situation. I Keep in mind that this building was probably built well before the ADA compliance guidelines went into effect. As others have mentioned, a building constructed before this time would not be subject to update their building to abide by the code unless a renovation or re-building was done. I fear the final outcome of this incident could impact the future design of all amusement park rides. Not only would catwalks need to be built wide enough for a wheel chair but if a cat walk were above ground level, there would need to be some sort of elevator or lift to get down.
