  1. ^I think some at the park would already consider KIC members being KI’s most important fans. What are you going to do, give people a test before they can become members of this group? What exactly do you mean by past failed/successful attempts? I think your last paragraph pretty much sums up what KIC has done/could do… Knowledgeable about the park…check Organize rallies in support of the park…been there, done that Make donations of some talents…see “knowledgeable about the park” Other wise get a job at the park if you think you can assist them Get 1,000 first timers to KI this year…KIC can set this goal for themselves as a group. Start a topic and have members post how many people they have brought to the park that have never been there before. Having a major place in Kings Island’s heart – I believe we already are…see the first line of my reply. Just reiterating what StalkerChick pointed out in her post on 4/22…
  2. ^Agreed. While it’s nice that you want to do something to help out your “home park,” I think some might be over thinking it just a bit.
  3. ^Could be broken. Or it could have been forgotten to be shut after maintenance walked the track.
  4. ^lol Brian is a great guy and definitely knows what he is talking about. Oh and by the way he is the Area Manager of Ride Operations.
  5. It's actually sad what BLSC has been reduced to. This coaster had so much potential when it was first announced in 2004 and when it opened in 2005. Sadly some of the promised effects never made it to the finished product and a then a few weeks later it seemed as if other effects were just forgoen about. .
  6. doubtful, they do a pretty good job of cleaning up during the off season
  7. I’m wondering how many people on here who have said that they have seen a lot of people kicked out actually followed security/park police up to the front gate and watched them be escorted out of the park…or were just assuming because they left with a member of security that they would be kicked out of the park. I only ask because I am not reading about anyone posting that they followed these troubled individuals to the front gate.
  8. thanks for sharing
  9. They will probably start accepting applications after the first of the year if they continue to do it as they have in previous years.
  10. ^Actually I believe it is called park services now
  11. While I can see the irony of Winterfest closing due to snow, this was no light dusting. I believe the night you are talking about there was 5''+ of accumulation.
  12. I don't see them doing another WF anytime soon. It wasn't profitable before, how can you be when there are more employees in the park than guests. No coasters would be open due to it being too cold to operate, not to mention it would disrupt the winter maintenance schedule.
  13. I'd be ok if they brought back an Enchanted Voyage type ride themed with different scenes from the many different Peanuts specials that have been created. They could even play the Linus and Lucy theme by the Vince Guaraldi Trio that has been associated with the Peanuts gang for decades now.
  14. Chances are you would not get a refund since you could use your ticket on another night that HH is open. If you are worried about the park being open, I would call before you leave your house. You can also check this website, they are pretty good at getting the information out if the park is closed that evening.
  15. You can thank all of the easily offended people who complained before HH started when they saw a preview from a local TV station.
  16. Hate to break it to you Reclaimer, but KI can't notify every single person that is thinking about going to the park, although they do their best to try. In this case, you just happened to be one of the people who never got updated information. It sounds like not too many people showed up at the park after they announced the closing, so obviously they did something right in getting the word out.
  17. That did happen during construction in 1999. Well, partway. Actually it was only the helix that collapsed.... Actually, you're wrong. It was a portion of the lift hill that collapsed. I am 100% certain of this.
  18. In defense of the viking fury, it is not allowed to make the full 360 degeree rotation due to regulations set by the state of Ohio. The ride is dependable and low maintenance, I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.
  19. Did the Dippin' dots guy tell you that?
  20. I would imagine it would be a renewal, but I would contact the park and ask them what you should do.
  21. "Bring Glowsticks At night the carts come out of hiding with all sorts of flashing, blinking and glowing toys priced from $5.00 to $20.00. You’ve probably got a whirly-flashy thing at home that you could bring along which will pacify a sudden desire for nighttime bling. Stash flashing toys in a locker while you play during the day, or simply pick up some cheap glow sticks at the dollar store and keep them close at hand." I think this could have been left out of the article.
  22. You couldn't be more right on that one.
  23. I would hardly say the lifeguard used common sense in this situation. You as the parent would probably disagree because you only see the benefit of not having to deal with an upset child. If she questioned your daughters height after the second time, she should have had another lifeguard measure or made your daughter wear the life jacket (better safe than sorry). Glad that nothing did happen to your daughter while she rode, but if it had, I'm sure you and the lifeguard would have felt horrible. What this lifeguard did was totally inexcusable and against all training that they were given.
  24. Hate to tell you but ride supervisors really have no say on those types of ride issues. They can make recommendations to their managers, but it is not their decision to make or give to maintenance.
