  1. Was there for a few days back in July of 2013. Never felt I needed a q-bot. Seemed the longest wait was always for Tennessee Tornado. Don't miss the quirky stuff like Blazing Fury and Mountain Slidewinder. Had some real good wood fired pizza at a place near the Thunderhead and Mystery Mine. Dolly's museum is interesting. We did Dixie Stampede as well because my ex girlfriend wanted to.
  2. I've been in line at times at CP and the coaster will shut down "due to rain" and I haven't felt a drop. Another anecdotal comment by me.
  3. I love Waldameer as well. This is the first year I probably will not be going in some time. Aside from attempting to slash the amount of money I spend on amusement parks every year, it's kind of bitter-sweet when I go there. I had great times with my kids there when they were younger and my (ahem) ex-girl friend at the time. I will miss 2 of my fav rides, Ravine Flyer 2 and Wacky Shack, but I think I'm going to go to Camden Park and try to go to Carowinds for some new experiences. It will be mostly a CP and KI season with a trip to Indiana Beach in July. Wasn't planning on IB, but my buddy bought a season pass and has free bring a friend tickets. Didn't get to ride Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain anyway last time I was there, so hopefully it will be running!!
  4. A short drive away is Waldameer which is state-of-the-art in comparison.
  5. What do you guess are the chances of them opening for the season?
  6. Cedar Point was always my home park. We went there every year mid-late 70s, but I was always afraid of Corkscrew and Gemini. In the early 80s we went to KI and with that magical visit, my fear disappeared. I couldn't get enough of Racer, Screamin' Demon, Bat and Beast on that trip. Haven't had any fear since.
  7. Yes, it was delilightfully empty on that day last year. Will history repeat itself though? I'll be going on pass holder preview the night before opening day and maybe the day after, so I hope so!!
  8. I left at 12:40 because it was getting so crowded (plus feeling under the weather). Couldn't believe all the cars in the lot as I was driving out.
  9. Anecdotal, I know, but it seems that Boo Blasters still holds appeal. There are always plenty of young families in line for it when I'm there. Again, I admit anecdotal.
  10. I can't see how this place stays open. The only time I was there it looked like an abandoned amusement park with some rides that were still running.
  11. It was off both times I went last fall as well. I wonder if they just neglect to turn it on or there's something wrong with it? I'll be going next weekend. The day depending on the weather. Hope Sunday.
  12. This is very exciting. CP needs a dark ride bad. Nice if KI got another.
  13. It all makes sense now. I wondered why I didn't see the Hatbox Ghost when I visited DW the only time ever in '92. ^^Had that record as a kid, plus the better full length album with Ron Howard.
  14. Too bad CP doesn't offer the Gold to us home park members. I must say KI treats it's Gold members well. If KI was my home park, it would be really tempting to forgo the Platinum for the less expensive Gold. Not sure on that though.
