I was at one of the very last nights of Winterfest, and not all of the decorations were taken down right away. Some remained in the Festhause for several years.

Heh...here's an interesting tidbit of information about that. The plane in the movie is refered to as a MiG-28. In reality, there is no such plane. All Soviet planes end with an odd number, such as the MiG-29 or the Su-27. The planes are actually American, Northrop F-5 Tigers. Just thought you might like to know! One more for ya...(this one is for you Ryan!) On the giant Gilette Mach 3 billboard, it shows a plane flying past the aircraft carrier. It's actually a McDonnell Douglas F-15 Strike Eagle, not a Grummen F-14 Tomcat. The F-15 is only used by the Air Force, and does not fly on or off of a carrier....man, am I a dork or what?

I can't exaclt tell you what she did...but trust me...she is now worthy of hero status... So Tiffany, if you're reading this...thank you again from the two dedicated FoF riders...told ya we'd do it!

The first tunnel, at the bottom of the first lift hill, has always been there. The other two, after the second lift hill weren't always fully enclosed. They didn't become actual tunnels until later. The underground tunnel is the first one, after the drop hill...so you see...it is entirely possible...
-
It did get the name from a beast chasing you idea. When The Beast first opened, the only tunnel it had was the first one. The second two didn't become enclosed until a few years later.

I remember on the very first Grad night, I went up with BoddaH, and a friend of ours. We rode The Racer, and as it started going up the lift hill, it started to rain. We were the only ones in the car, and rain at that speed hurts! BoddaH didn't seem to mind...me and our friend were blocking all the rain for him...we paid him back though. Me and or friend found these hot girls, and stuck BoddaH with the ugly one, and left him.

I was there with BoddaH that day, and that old guy was truly one of the funniest things I've seen...what would have made it even funnier, when the guy was up there, he came so close to falling out of the canopy head first. I think I would have peed all over myself laughing.

I never said fans wouldn't welcome a huge, new coaster. I, probably more than anyone, would love to have the tallest, fastest, longest, most inversions, most intense coaster on the planet right here at PKI. I was just stating that I don't think it's going to happen within the next couple of years, because that's not exactly what PKI is going for right now. Who knows though...PKI has surprised us before.

I remember when I was a little little kid, my family and I were on the train (the pre-Water Works train, back when it still had all the working theming.) and I got in the train first. As I was looking over in the woods, I saw something on one of the trees moving. It was a snake about 2 feet long, reaching out towards the train. Unfortunately, the train took off before I could grab it

lol..I said the same thing to Ryan last night about the pic...it would make for an interesting ride though...
-
tell him the truth Boddah...tell him how YOU broke PKIC!!!!

I don't think they meant it wouldn't fit, as in there wasn't enough room in the park, more than it wouldn't fit the overall theme of the park. We all know that there is plenty of room for a coaster...200+ acres. The park isn't really supposed to be a coaster park like CP...it's geared twords a family oreinted theme park. They want more rides that the entire family can enjoy, and thus a very large coaster just wouldn't fit in the park too well right now. I'm sorry if this post is worded very badly...it was a long night last night...

Most of the rides for WF were closed. A few exceptions I remember being open were the train, and the carousel. I think for a couple of years they had carriage rides.

Well, I do always get a half chub when I think about FoF.... I'd just like to start by thanking Ryan, Dane, Dan, and everyone else who decided to add me to the mix. I hope I can use my knowledge of the park, and my other "talents" to help PKIC in any way I can. I suppose I should introduce myself. Well, as Ryan said, I'm Nathan, aka Dirty Steve. Right now I'm in the USAF, where I was studying to be a cryptologic linguist. Don't ask me what that means, because I'm not quite so sure myself. As far as my PKI history goes, I've been going to the park for around 19 years. In that time I've collected quite a bit of knowledge, old pictures, and videos from the park. As you can tell by now, I'm not good at this sort of thing at all...lol Well, I should be coming home from the AF on Thursday morning, and I look forward to chatting with all of you, and seeing you at the park! Yes they were. You had to pay to be a gunner, a driver, or someone around the outside shooting at the tanks. The gunner was most expensive, followed by the driver, followed by the gunner outside...I think..lol.

My family and I attended Winterfest every year for about 9 years. I can still remember quite a bit about it. It was a lot like the Cincinnati Zoo's Festival of Lights. The park was decorated for christmas, with the usual lights. The coolest being the Eifle Tower. It had a huge star on top of it, with strings of lights coming all the way to the ground. I have pictures of it somewhere. There weren't many rides open at all. I remember the carousel was open. Maybe the Antique Cars. The Festhaus was decorated as well...in fact...the decorations stayed up in there for a few years after Winterfest ended. Well, most of them. They had a special ice skating show in there. All in all, it was a lot like the Festival of Lights. I'll find my pictures of it and send them in soon.

They were a dark blue color...and I suppose they were more PT boats than anything...they kinda floated half in, half out of the water. There really was no main objective other than to hit targets on the boats. There were also targets around the perimeter, that would cause water "explosions". Hope this helps a little.
