  1. cardinals12 you really need to calm down...I'm only going to warn you once. Two people did die in the Oktoberfest pond on "black sunday." I know. I was there. I watched it happen. I also watched the lady fall from Flight Commander.
  2. The last year I went, there was so much fog around The Vortex, you couldn't see anything at all. Probably the best ride I've ever had on The Vortex
  3. I once got one on my 3rd quarter...it's all about timing, and luck...timing the arm, and the lighter has to be just in the right spot

  8. Here's some more SOB construction photos that I found. http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coast...sob_photos.html They also have a great construction photo of the The Beast covered in snow.
  9. If you guys wanna have a ****ing contest on here, than use PMs. Don't do it in the trip reports.
  10. I just heard on the news that a couple from Georgetown, KY said they were injured after riding Slingshot. They were complaining of back pains after the ride, and were taken to a local hospital. For now, Slingshot has been shut down.
  11. I heard that they were going to turn line jumping into a sport, and even hold bi-anual line jumping olympics!
  12. I just hop on 71 north, to exit 24. The on ramp is pretty much right by my house, so depending on traffic, I can get to the park in around 25-40 minutes.
  13. You're the girl who is working every single time me and BoddaH ride Delirium! Heh...back on topic...its about time they got the web cam back up...any one know how often it updates?
  14. Some time soon at a PKIC day we have some cool PKI prizes to give away...
  15. depending on how I drive....anywhere from 45 minutes to less than 20
  16. I'll be there if i dont have to work
  17. wonderful rumor
  18. Score...beat you to it!
  19. The reason they took it out is simple...it broke all the time. For every day it was open, it was closed 2. It was a suspended coaster, like Top Gun, but unlike Top Gun, the track wasn't banked. This caused a lot of stress on the trains, and it became too much of a hassle for the park, and they took it out at the end of the 83 season.
  20. If you guys are ever at the park, and want to try Chipotle, go south on 71, and take exit 19. Turn right off the exit, and Chipotle is just up the road on your right. It's in the same plaza type area as Bigg's. For a drink, and burrito, the price is right around $6...give or take. It may seem like a lot for a burrito, but keep in mind, each one weighs around a pound or so, and will keep you full all day. I'm not exactly a small guy, and sometimes I have trouble finishing a whole burrito, and I'm set for the day. Just thought you guys might like to know where the closest one is to the park.
  21. There were about 3 or 4 Japaneese people there...They spoke very good english. They even had some kind of japaneese vegetable, that had some kind of raw fish inside of it...the producer (an american who lived in Japan) said it had the consistency of jello. They were using it to show how turbulant The Beast can be. Also...I love how they fixed the cameras to the train...Japaneese duct tape!
  22. mmmm...fish at 7:30 in the morning.... *pukes*
  23. I got to the park at around 7:10am and checked in at the security gate, and parked in the VIP area. I met up with BoddaH, Dane, Fusion Dude, and a few other people. We all waited outside until about 7:30ish, when we were lead back to The Beast by Jeff Seibert. Once there we waited a few more minutes, while we were treated to free doughnuts, and drinks. We took the back way onto the loading platform, where we again waited for them to get the cameras situated. While we waited, we talked to the producer of the show, who told us a little bit about it. It was for the Japaneese TV network Nipon TV, which is kinda like out ABC, NBC, and CBS all rolled into one. The name of the show is "Scream Machines." Me and BoddaH rode in the second to last seat a total of three times, so they could shoot the train from all different angles. After filming, we took a small break, got more doughnuts and drinks, and watched as they loaded the other two trains onto the track. (they were only running one for the filming) The filming had wrapped up just after 10, and they let us all stay in line for the "first" ride of the day. After filming, we all walked around the park for a while, hitting most of the major rides. Me and BoddaH left around 2. Hey Dane...SHUT UP!
  24. I have to go with the Smurf's as well.
  25. We spoke with Jeff Seibert today at the filming for The Beast, and he told us a little bit about the sign. He said it was going to be about the same size as the old one (that's why it's taking so long..zoning laws) and he said it would look something like the entrance to the Paramount Studios. It won't be full color, only gold. He also said it would probablyh be up around mid-July. It's taking so long because of all the concrete they poured to make sure it doesn't fall over. Just a quick FYI...I've been to PGA, and their sign looks nothing like that...it looks just like our old sign
