Delirium33
That would be an awesome and FUN job, scaring people for money. But I would probably blow most of my salary on gas getting to the park! (~27 miles up 71) Hopefully this is a sign that a Fear Fest '07 Announcement is near. I can't wait to see what's in store for FF this year! hauntguy
I'm going to go on the 27th for the returnees... but if I get hired, I don't know; most likely NOT!!! But it's worth a shot! If not, I'm sure FF is going to be AWESOME this year and you'll all find me "haunting it out" at the USS Nightmare in Newport! To all that go to the auditions... GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!! -Hauntguy PS: Don't make the same mistake I did and let family get involved... you WILL get fired!
RingMaster
I'm going on the 27th as well for rehires, even though I haven't worked FF since '04 in Curse of the Crypt. I hope they'll let me back in as a Rehire, though; if not, then I'll be there on the 28th for regular Hires. I SO want to be a street monster this year. UncleHenry
I'm in, should be going the 28th.
Dane
I did it last year as some of you may know, it was a absolute blast. When doing your auditions, go absolutely nuts. Why? A: You will never see the people who judged you ever again. B: If you are really good, you can get placed in some rather nice spots, like the greeter to Cowboy Carnage, or The Undertakers chainsaw wielding minion. hauntguy
Great advice Dane... GO TOTALY NUTS!!! You might just end up in the Asylum with the REAL mad med of FF!!! HAHAH.... Dane, you probably had the coolest job at FF; Except for that mysterious white "gunk" they put in your hair... HAHAHA!!! Good Times. -Hauntguy

neo8820
I really liked the slider last year. Not sure if that is his real name or not but he got me everytime he slid down the sidewalk with sparks flying from his legs.
upstop
PS: Don't make the same mistake I did and let family get involved... you WILL get fired! Hey Hauntguy, that was under Paramount, wasn't it?? Maybe Cedar Fair will be different. Also, not to pry, but how did getting family involved with Fearfest cause a problem? If you mean having to be with family when scheduled to work, family ALWAYS comes first in my view.
The Interpreter
Cedar Fair took over Paramount Parks and its management June 30, 2006. That being said, many that were at Kings Island then no longer are. . .
hauntguy
Upstop, I believe CF was in charge of FF last year... but maybe this company believes in second chances? As for my situation... it's in the past, I hold absolutely NO grudges against the park or the ENT. dept.... they did the right thing from a business stand point, I can't be upset with them. I love everyone in ENT., they are such wonderful people to both be around and too work with. BUT, I am the same... family ALWAYS comes first with me and ALWAYS will. I love my family more than anything in the world and would do ANYTHING for them. I will be there on the 27th as well... again, hopefully the park believes in 2nd chances and I might be hired again. If not, no biggy... I'd still be at FF everynight enjoying the houses and watching people get scared! So to everyone whose going... HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK! -Hauntguy
RingMaster
Speaking of which, take a look at this, courtesy of Screamscape.... Park News - (7/24/07) We’ve heard a few rumors about this year’s FearFest at Kings Island. There will be changes this year to the event, though many of the haunts will return to the same locations, only with new names and themes. We’ve also heard that a Circus themed attraction will be kid friendly in the daytime, but upgrade into a full haunt at night. We’ve also heard that a new haunt attraction will be coming this year to “a part of the park that has been begging for a FearFest attraction.” It sounds almost too obvious that he's been checking the KICentral forums for these FearFest rumors. But still, this batch of rumors sounds neat. First off, sounds like the Circus of Horrors is coming back and is staying inside the old Enchanted Theater, but is pulling a Two-Face with a kid-friendly circus romp in the daytime (Sat. mornings & possibly all day Sunday), and transforming into the Circus of Horrors at night. The only question is if CF will completely redo the layout and scenery of Horrors to match this possible setup, or if they'll just leave the layout as it's been since 2001? From what I've heard (just rumors again), both PsychoPath and Headless Hollow may not be coming back this year. It makes almost perfect sense that PP is not returning because of Firehawk this year, and the fact that it would be total chaos come October when the lines for Flight of Fear, Firehawk, PP, and The Asylum happen to run into each other. It just seems a little bit awkward for HH to disappear this year, even though there were insane lines for both the train AND the maze; the idea that you had to get off the train and walk back to the main park was pretty cool. Finally, on that "new haunt attraction," I've got no clue as to what it's supposed to be, but I can only guess that either Action Zone or Nick Universe will house this attraction. In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, Nick Universe would be perfect with that Nick Theater as a possible location. Perhaps a scary storybook-themed maze? Hopefully I can get all the details on what's going down on Friday at the Rehire Auditions, but that doesn't mean I'll spoil the entire event for you guys. hauntguy
I do know a "little" of whats happening... a really good friend of mine in the haunt industry told me when I visited his haunt to do some painting work. I'll just say this... everyone will love it! I just hope I'm lucky enough to work in it! -Hauntguy

marlfox_21
My return to the state of Ohio is less than one month away now! And my return to Kings Island is confirmed. My 1st scheduled day should be my reintroduction to FearFest. As well as managing over merchandise maint. First scheduled day will probably be from 8a.m. until about 1a.m. I am greatly looking forward to my return, esp. to Merch. It should be an interesting impact....on me. I have not pulled an a.m. to a.m. in over 3 years. Not even at Disney's Animal Kingdom. But with my soon to be juggling between the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden and Kings Island, I should be a busy boy. SEE YOU VERY SOON. ...marlfox_21......GLR
Dvo
What exactly do you do to audition for Fear Fest? I always wondered about that... Do you just try to scare the judges or something?
DropZone99
Maybe the new haunted attraction will be in AZ and they will tear down DOT and make a huge haunted house themed as an abanded amusement park. They could have King Cobra's cars and alot of old ride piece's. Then once Fearfest is over they start construction on a new ride in DOT'S place. =]
Dvo
That's pretty elaborate... and there's no way that's going to happen... but I wish it would

Dvo
Can someone answer my question about what goes on during auditions? Do you just perform on a stage as to how you would scare someone?
Dane
You go in and fill out paperwork, than you go into a room with judges sitting at a table, "American idol" style. You have 2 other people in the room in which you have at your disposal. The judges put you in situations, you act it out. You thank leave the room into the waiting room, if you were good enough, you go into a measurement room where they take your picture. After that you go into another room to discuss the hire process and ask any questions about employment at Kings Island.
Dvo
Thanks a lot! It sounds kind of nerve-wracking, but I bet it would be a lot of fun nonetheless! It seems somewhat difficult to scare people in an open area like that, but I bet that's why they do it. I'd like to be a judge and see what people come up with. Do you talk to the people? Or do you just scream and yell at them? Sorry about all the questions... this just seems really intriguing to me.
