retsamemag111
I just went to KI for the first time and there were no souviners for my favorite ride, FOF. Why is this?
The Interpreter
Most likely because Paramount Parks aka CBS had intended to remove the ride before now....it was supposedly going to Canada's Wonderland or Carowinds...I forget which. Kings Dominion's Flight of Fear was going to whichever one Kings Island's wasn't. KD's had already closed by the time Cedar Fair bought the park last season. Cedar Fair, to their credit, reversed these inane decisions, fixed whatever was wrong with KD's FOF, and both still operate happily in their original locations. tubaman
I'm tellin' ya... The man, he just doesn't want you to know about the alien abductions in the area... That's what happend to the souviners...
jondrewfoo
lol yeah, paramount in its stupidity decided to move the FOF rides for some idiotic reason. because of this, they most likely discontinued all merchandise once the decision was made. add that on to the fact that Cedar Fair doesnt like paramont logo merchandise, anything that was left is now most likely gone due to clearancing of it. Id imagine they will have some new merchandise to go along with the new videos they will be selling shortly, i saw them on my last visit on thursday. they are installed, and they were working on the booth. should be done very soon. BoddaH1994
Oh -- there are a million possibilities.. There of course is the ride moving theory, as mentioned above. However Flight of Fear at Kings Island always operated normally, so the theory about it being moved is still officially unconfirmed. I'm glad it's not, though. Ever taken this into consideration: Why isn't there any merch for The Racer, Adventure Express, Reptar yet there is merch for The Beast, Sonny, Vortex, Italian Job, etc? Simply put -- they'll stock the merch that sells. Rides that are "legendary" or still carry a novelty sell much better than other rides. WooferBearATL
Right in the Hospital Gift Shop?
CoastersRZ
Well, if that is at Kings Island, it is clearly an OLD shirt prior to the purchase of Kings Island by Cedar Fair. Because if you notice, there is a certain P word in front of Kings Island on that shirt.
jondrewfoo
that new sob logo is realyl ugly, im sorry. i even like the loopless logo better than that one.

CoastersRZ
And like I said, that shirt design is at least a year old, if not more. Who knows, those shirts could be leftovers from several years ago!
Dalefan
To my knowing the park never had any FOF stuff since 2005 when i started fully going into the shops. The Beast has hardly any shirts. I been wanting one but they either are out or never in my size which is a large shirt. Hopefully Cedar Fair changes that. I know at Cedar Point they have just about all the coasters on a shirt or somekind of gift. They need to have all the coasters or rides on a shirt. I know the shop closer to StarBucks has 60% off Paramount stuff.
TOPGUN1993
Kinda Cool when TOPGUN has more merch. than Beast does

CoastersRZ
Really? I seem to recall there being an entire section dedicated to The Beast in the emporium earlier this year. And no, they don`t "own" Paramount. They have a license to use the Paramount name. But I don`t believe that Cedar Fair has ordered any new merchandise since they took over that has the Paramount name on it. In fact, several of the shops were offering sales of up to 60% off all merchandise with the Paramount name on them, because they likely want to move that merchandise out of their inventory as quickly as possible. The Interpreter
And, as has been said previously, the park has stated its intention to no longer use the Paramount name by the beginning of next season (except on certain rides, whose licensing is different). I suspect this means that both the marquee sign and The Paramount Theater will soon be altered...
WooferBearATL
You failed to mention Interp (and that surprised me) that no one owns the Paramount name but Paramount.
The Interpreter
Well, it wasn't CBS's to convey. Paramount Communications, a division of Viacom, still owns the Paramount mark. Oddly enough, Viacom is licensing it for theme parks overseas! And I didn't need to mention that, as CoastersRZ had already done so!
Ki Man
I sure love not being blinded after the launch!
TransAm78
When i was last at the park the 60% off sale(s) were in full effect and you could find alot of beast, SOB, TG,IJ:ST, Firehawk, and paramount stuff. My question is that the fearsome four at Kings Island (according to a cup i got for $1.50) are The Beast, Son of Beast, Vortex and Top Gun? I understand the first 3 (the coaster that put KI on the map, the defiant son, and the mega looper) but i dont understand TG. Dont get me wrong i LOVE topgun, and the cup looks sweet with The Beast's paws reaching for you with the son looking at you, The Vortex in the background, and a F-14 in the foregrounds shootin missles off. Interperter, can you explain? Wouldn't FOF be the 4th in the fearsome 4?
BoddaH1994
Well, if Interp is right, then FoF would not longer be at KI by now so they wouldn't put the logo on the merch if it was to be gone.
