new ride idea

Featured Replies

Since so many people talk about taking out Top Gun I have a new idea for a fighter jet roller coaster. The theming would start with an aircraft carrier like TG used to be but it would have a runway where the ride would load and unload. it would still be suspended but instead of a lift hill LIM would be used to feel like a launch from a carrier. the atleast two more lims to accelerate the train to give the effect of afterburners kicking in. the launch would start out straight the up and bank hard right or left. I wouldn't use loops but tight and fast corkscrews. this would keep the tradition of TG but add length and elements to a fighter jet themed ride that TG is missing. Are there any suspended LIM coasters? What do you all think?

so it can be done....just wouldn't want intamin to make this ride.

Are there any suspended LIM coasters?

wicked twister at Cedar Point and i think it would be great but would they be able to use the top gun theme or i guess they could just keep a fighter jet theme and drop the top gun name

this actually sounds like a great idea to replace top gun i mean its not like top gun is the reason people are coming to the park and a new ride would do the park good because it wouldn't be everyone coming from a park the ride was moved from to begain with like with Firehawk.

sorry if this doesn't make since :)

Iv'e always thought it would be awesome if there was a LIM flying coaster. I doubt KI would get one because we have a flying coaster and a LIM, 2 if you count IJST.

I only come to ride TOPGUN

And of the crowds that Firehawk drew at opening, I doubt if even 0.0001 percent were primarily patrons of Geauga Lake, who had come to visit an old friend.

Did they even have that many patrons?

;)

well everyone in line around me was from Geauga Lake because they were complaining about how long the line was compared to when it was at Geauga Lake and wouldn't you think people that went to other parks would be used to standing in long lines

Not if it was Geauga Lake. If Geauga Lake had frequently had long lines, Firehawk would still be X Flight and still be there.

UM YES, the main reason I rode it was because it was my favorite coaster at Geauga Lake and I was excited that I didn't have to go to Geauga Lake anymore to ride it!
