Captain Nemo Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Hersheypark... http://www.hersheypa.com/attractions/hersheypark/index.php "Whats Better than a perfect 10?" Cedar Point... http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm Canadas Wonderland... http://www1.cedarfair.com/canadaswonderland/ "Wonderland's biggest annoucement ever, 18 months of planning and construction, Biggest investment in Wonderland's history, Canada's never seen anything like this, Premiers May 2008" Currently 87 feet high Quote
Cody Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 "whats better than a perfect 10" a perfect 10 is often referd to judgeing, tryin to be the best. I say that one is gona be a world record holder. Only thing better then a perfect 10 is being first. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 Hersheypark has 10 coasters. Whats better than 10 coasters? That is what I think they are getting across. Quote
Cody Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Hmm wow true, One more, one of the greatest? Quote
TH13TEEN Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I want a Flat ride for Kings Island but i don't think we will be getting anything. something like skyhawk at Cedar Point Quote
teenageninja Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Hopefully KI gets some teasers soon... Quote
Jasper Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Skyhawk at Cedar Point is one of the best flat rides i have ever been on. Kings Island needs to get one that swings up higher than skyhawk because Skyhawk gives you just enough where you want to go higher but not too much where you dont want to be up that high. When i was at CP i was on the train and i swear i saw some construction equipment and some dirt back in an area by Mantis and i was wondering what this stuff was. For some reson i would not be surprised if it is the tallest and fastest something. next year should be a good year for coasters. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Given Cedar Fair's current financial condition;, their experiences with Son of Beast, Top Thrill Dragster, Mean Streak and Hercules; relatively poor response to new thrill rides nationwide in recent years; and the general state of the economy; I'd be more than a little shocked if Cedar Point got the fastest and tallest anything...except maybe cash register! Quote
Jasper Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I would not consider the reaction to TTD bad and you cant forget the reaction that Milly is still getting along with Magnum XL 200. And might as well add Gemini in there because it was the tallest at one time. And also Raptor was the tallest and fastest inverted when it opened and is ranked as one of the best coasters in the world. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Top Thrill Dragster did not bring substantial new business to the park. Moreover, Mr. Kinzel has more than once called it the worst business decision he ever made. This doesn't even take into account the maintenance/uptime nightmare it has been. For all these reasons, I doubt seriously you see a record breaking tallest, fastest coaster at Cedar Point any time soon....and that doesn't even mention Cedar Fair's current debt load. Tallest and fastest means big time money has to be spent to purchase and install . . . Quote
Jasper Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 To save money then you can always add on to Top Thrill Dragster. LMAO Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 Yeah, they could add a hill to it after the drop. Oh, wait... http://www.rcdb.com/ig2832.htm?picture=36 Quote
Hank Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 As I've said before... I think it will be Richard Kinzel worship spaces, complete with statue (11 ft. tall). Canada has never seen anything like it. O, Canada! And Hershey will build a huge Hershey Bar slide - with and without almonds! What a sweet idea. Quote
tubaman Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 No, they couldn't do the slide with almonds. Some people might have deadly allergic reactions. Quote
WooferBearATL Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 No, they couldn't do the slide with almonds. Some people might have deadly allergic reactions. Yes, against the American's With Nut Allergy Act. Quote
upstop Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 The teaser on Canda's Wonderland shows more coaster today....sure looks like Dominator. Quote
TOPGUN1993 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 How could it be dominator? its open right now, and track has already arrived at CWL. Quote
hausty1983 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I doubt its that either its still operating and thats not the same track either guys wake up hello thats brand new track going in at CWL there. Quote
RWildman424 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 beside the count down on the CWL home page, there looks to be a height meter. If 87 ft is where it is, it looks to be a 200+ ft coaster. If its a height meter. Are there any dive coasters in Canada? It says that "Canada's never seen any thing like it." Just a couple things that I noticed. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 What a faux pas! ** Very, very odd. Must have been done in Sandusky, and will upset more than a few Canadians. You see, most Canadians like for Canadians to run their parks, etc. Most Canadians do NOT see themselves as citizens of the 51st state. And Canada does not use feet and inches. It uses meters... That reference REALLY should have been to about 26.5 meters at this point. Heck, they don't use gallons, they don't use miles, and they calculate fuel economy in number of liters used to travel 100 kilometers (which would be somewhat like calculating number of gallons used to travel 250 miles...) ** Faux pas defined (it fits PERFECTLY): http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/faux%20pas Quote
