I was looking around on coasterbuzz.com and there is a big discussion about Dominator going to Kings Dominion. Does anyone know if this is true??? I could believe this since Kings Dominion only got their Waterpark expanded this year, and I have a feeling this was the last year for the Hypersonic. All of the advertising, t-shirts, etc.. have disappeared from the park.

This would be great for Kings Dominion, especially since down the road 50 miles another park got a floorless dive coaster. I would hate to see the Hypersonic go, best take off of any launch coaster I have ever experienced, would love to see Kings Island get that one, but I know the upkeep is way too much

And, the other rumor is that Thunderhawk is being moved to Michigan's Adventure.

This would be a good move to take Dominator from GL and move it to KD. I don't see any other coasters being moved to KI since we already have Firehawk.

Hypersonic is just not a well designed ride, it uses regular tires instead of wheels, which you have to maintain pressure on, the air launch has issues and I hear it's uncomfortable.

Hypersonic is for sale on Intalintl.com has someone bought it yet? Will it be removed after this season? Will it be put in storage to make room for Dominator? I hate to see the ride go I hope it goes to another CF park. I love this coaster.

Where did this rumor start from? Why get rid of Dominator from GL. I mean I think GL is doomed just like everyone else but has anyone actually heard anything from a even somewhat reliable source?

At conference call after conference call, Mr. Kinzel has pointed out again and again that the footprint is too large at Geauga Lake for the attendance the park achieves. Whether or not you consider Mr. Kinzel a reliable source is up to you.

Dominator isn't a dive coaster. It's just a regular floorless coaster.

Do you think it will eventually just become a waterpark? And the dryside and parking lot be sold to real estate developers?

Maybe.. i think there will still be a small amusement park though. Probably just keep the classics. It could be the next Splashn' Safari or Shliterbauhm. I think thats how you spell it..

Now ive heard they are actually removing more than Dominator. They may also remove Head-Spin, thunderhawk, and texas twister all to be re-located, and the observation tower will be scrapped. So my guess is summer 08 will have a small dry ride side and by '09 they will relocated maybe the classics to the other side of the lake and sell off the old dry side and parking lot.

^ Yea I think you hit the nail right on the head. Now I have been to Sea World up there were abouts was that compared to GL?

Um sea world is gone, and is now the Wildwater Kingdom section of GL. Sea World and GL used to be on opposite sides of the same lake. So my guess is that what used to be GL will be all gone, and what used to be sea world will be just a CF water park.

Yea I know Sea World is gone but I was just wondering what section of the park it was now. Is GL water park any good I didn't visit that because I was disapointed in the dry side. Wouldn't it be easier to move the water park over to the dry side than move some really old wooden coasters over to the wet side of the park?

No it wouldn't, and theyd never do it and Ill tell you why. The current waterpark is i believe the 4th location for the water park in the parks history, they have had 3 different wavepools at 3 different locations, i think 1 or 2 pervious lazy rivers, and countless waterslides that have been moved around and torn down, if you look up satelite images you can even see the old discuting falling apart waterpark that used to be on the dry side.

Also to answer your question the waterpark is actually very nice, one of the best lazy rivers ive ever been in nice wave pool, and its always been fairly busy on the waterpark side when ive been there even if theres NO visitors on the dry side.
