PKIVortex Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Sorry I was trying to say, I should remember the year that they painted it, since I worked on that ride that year. So that fact that I watched them paint it. We would come in after having the week off and see how much more they got done. Quote
TH13TEEN Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 oo cool yeah in 2005 it looked awfull Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 I don't think Vortex looks bad. Yeah the track that leads into the train storage shed doesn't look very good, but that is original paint from Arrow's Factory from when they built Vortex. The paint has wore off on the running rails, but that's going to happen. Compare the paint on that part of the track to the main track and you can tell a major difference, at least the whole ride doesn't look like that. If any coaster needs paint it's Top Gun. Quote
Neon Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 The Vortex should be painted with different colors. The dark blue and orange makes The Vortex look like the Denver Broncos. It should be painted black and neon green. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Black and Neon Green would look swwet on The Vortex. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 And then we can call it Revenge of X Flight... Terpy, running for the door Quote

Browntggrr Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Black and Neon Green would look swwet on The Vortex. The neon would fade too quickly and look like terrible. And when I think of that kind of green, I keep thinking of what CF did to WildCat at CP. A shade of green and purple. It reminds me of Vince McMahon's defunct XFL. But why change it at all? The dark blue/ orange looks rather decent offset with the woods behind it. Quote
KIBeast Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Calll me crazy, but I like the Wildcat's new paint job. Vortex may need new paint, but I wouldn't mess with changing the colors. What would be the point now? Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Actually they were considering painting the supports on Vortex Black. They actually tested some black paint on the bottom of the lift supports when they did repaint it in 2001. Quote

coaster_junky Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 while we are talking about paint jobs why is the track on italian job black when in the animation for it the track was yellow? Quote
CoastersRZ Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 According to Siebert on one of the construction tours for IJ back in the spring of 2005, they decided that the gray color of the track would look more like a road, and would not stand out as much as the yellow track. Quote
DiSab Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Yeah, I think the rides in most need of a new paint job would be Top Gun and Delirium. Quote

Too bad. Some truly awesome coasters have yellow track. See, for example: http://www.rcdb.com/ig110.htm?picture=4 Quote
Beast1979 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 ^ LOL! I wouldn't mind having LNM at KI, in Rivertown! That would fit Right In! Beast1979 Quote
