September 26, 200718 yr Just looked on Carowinds Connection and they have talked about it and a guy on there said there might be something wrong with a footer and they ended up taking a support down to dig that footer up. Here are some photos the guy took while at the park the other day http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showpo...;postcount=3452
September 30, 200718 yr Ha! CF is going to become known as the coaster sinking company of the world That's cool,as long as they don't build one floating on the water!!!! They could call it Titanic!!!!
October 1, 200718 yr ...but only if they license the name from. . . Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom, former owner of Paramount's Kings Island.
October 1, 200718 yr I will be at Carowinds in a week. I will report if the ride is open and if not I will take some pictures.
October 1, 200718 yr Yes just got my tickets the other day for Scarowinds and then I am off to Dollywood.
October 1, 200718 yr ...but only if they license the name from. . . Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom, former owner of Paramount's Kings Island. Oh, the irony of that statement.
October 1, 200718 yr Oh MY GOD.....Topgun at Carrowinds is sinking!!!!!!! Yep. We have Poluted the Earth so mutch it wants revenge. First our coasters, (Cedar Fair Exlusive ) then our houses, than the World!
October 2, 200718 yr I can very easily imagine a Titanic Ride. They'll have people stand in a recreation of the Titanic and have the boat tilt while they flood the area with water. And you try to see how long you can stay on before you chicken out. Tat would be awesome.
October 2, 200718 yr ...but only if they license the name from. . . Paramount Pictures, a unit of Viacom, former owner of Paramount's Kings Island. Since when has Titanic been known only as a movie?!? Sure they could not distribute the movie or a knockoff of the movie but they certainly could use the name, especially when the trademark as a movie title/intelectual property wears off. Thats the thing that gets me about Top Gun. Top Gun is actually an elite flight school for the best of the best. Top Gun I believe could stay Top Gun as the trademark is no longer valid, whether based off the movie or not, All Paramount now owns is rights to market and distribute the movie. It seems to reason that as long as the flight school doesnt have a problem with it the name could stay.
October 2, 200718 yr I believe that may hold true, about the logo. I think it would be construed as the logo to the movie distribution and cataloguing rights. But that would depend on if the logo stays with the production company as a part of distribution rights, or is in itself a trademark that wasnt renewed.
October 3, 200718 yr The reality is the mere threat of litigation is enough to keep most prudent companies from using what can easily be claimed to be a licensed property. Twisted SisterS was not even the name of the band that ended up preventing SFKK from using that name.
October 13, 200718 yr A quick up date from my hotel. Top Gun at Carowinds is up and running. I took some pictures and will try to update later on. I will be at Sarowinds at 7pm. So look for my udate late on Sunday.
