upstop
What is the Torture Chamber at Halloween Haunt? I read the website, but I'm not sure if it is an illusion show or self mutilation show. Illusions....OK. Self mutilation? I'm not so sure that's appropriate for anyone! UncleHenry
I'm looking forward to it! Why does it have to be called "mutilation"? That denotes it was done against their consent. What they would be doing is performance art.
upstop
The way I read it, it mentions someone putting hooks into their eyelids and lifting weights. There are a minority of people who enjoy pain (masochism) and that's too freaky for me, but if it's only illusion that they are lifting weights with their eyelids I'm ok with that. UncleHenry
Just because you don't like it doesn't make it wrong. I like eating fire. I know many people who would never want to do it. While my family still is unsure about it, I have explained to them that it's perfectly safe. I'm sure the guys they are bringing in are trained professionals. upstop
Not saying that it's wrong. I'm sure it's safe, just watching someone do that sort of thing is not what I want to see. Just thinking about some guy putting a cigar out on his tongue......OWWWWWWW. I might just skip that show if it's not illusions.
PKIVortex
Halloween Haunt isn't just for anyone. Some of the things will be disturbing. But isn't that what we wanted?
UncleHenry
This year is going to be INTENSE. If you don't want to see the show, don't go to it. LOTS of people will want to see the show. I sure am excited for it. I loooooove the creepy stuff. People love being scared, and love seeing people do disgusting things. Why do you think Fear Factor was popular?
upstop
You're absolutely correct. I did see a Fear Factor show at Universal. And when they ground up the worms and other stuff....had to leave. I'll probably give the show a chance, after all, if these guys have been doing this for a while, I'm sure I might be able to handle it...I'll bring a barf bag. LOL
Dane
Lets look at the description... See the Bed of Nails! The grinding Broken Glass Walk, Jump and Glass Face! Watch as a man eats a meal consisting of fire, ash and brimstone! Cringe as you watch a human hammer a nail into his nose! Lifting weights with his eyelids! Animal traps are pitted against human flesh and bone. Who will win that bout? Flaming balls of fire, lit matchbooks and cigars are eaten and put out with the touch of the tongue! And so from that we can interpret this guy doing... Walk on broken glass. "Eat" fire Hammer a nail through his nose Life stuff with his eyelids. Animal traps on his skin. And blow some fireballs. If that doesn't sound like your cup of tea, than don't go.
PKIVortex
That's true, if you can't handle the show, don't go. But remember Halloween Haunt is going to be much different this year, then in years past. So if in doubt don't go.
UncleHenry
Let's see... bed of nails and eating fire is nothing too special. I've done both myself. The rest sounds awesome as hell though.
PKIVortex
I plan on watching both shows, I may go to this one Friday Evening, we shall see.

RingMaster
I can't wait for the parents that bring their kids to the Haunt start complaining about the event being too intense or the Torture Chamber being too freaky and disturbing for their little ones. deb
My 5 year old would prob get a kick out of it... but nonetheless, he won't be attending... What can I say? Like mother like son! And this stuff is barely more than the carnival "freak shows" of yesteryear... And human curiosity. Like everyone has said, can't make everyone happy, that's why there is a disclaimer, and if it's too weird for ya, don't watch! deb

kjkjkj
yeah, I have to agree that it's pretty dumb, it should be parent's responibility, not the parks to know how old a kid has to be when you go to an event like this, I went when I was twelve, and I was perfectly fine.
