IJST is rated at 1,000 riders per an hour. KI needs a good long steel coaster but it also needs one that can handle large amounts of people. That sounds pretty awesome, I would be up for something like that! It astounds me even that people are so up on Behemoth. I have heard so many complaints recently about how Magnum is just a big uncomfortable out and back with nothing but hops, and then a bigger one just gets built at CW and everyone is "ooohh, I want that, I want Behemoth!" Please, I will take elements over speed any day, now air-time is great, but only when not uncomfortable. Hopefully Behemoth is more comfortable than Magnum then maybe Ill jump on the bandwagon. Just goes to show though that the public will go for anything new. As for this Fahrenheit ride, seems to incorporate everything great that Maverick has, air time and elements...now that is what KI needs! I distinctly remember talkling to someone on that crew the first season. The last hour the Park was open, they made every dispatch interval. I think they cranked out 60 trains in an hour.....that equates to about 720 people an hour. KI doesn't seem to be concerned about capacity, so why bother now? I think this ride looks super fun, however it is extremely similiar to 2004's Storm Runner found in the same park.....just substitute a vertical lift in place of the launch. None the less, I'd GLADLY take this ride at Kings Island! As an avid Maverick fan, anything of that sort would be a welcome addition for me! - Todd, hopefully headed to Hershey Park at the end of October! KIBeast Posted September 28, 2007 Share Posted September 28, 2007 There is absolutley very little in common between Farenheit and Maverick. It's an Intamin, of course it's going to look similar. Fahrenheit does not use LIMS, it's a vertical chain lift. The only thing even close to being similar is the Cobra Roll element. None of the other elements were used on Maverick. So yes, the track looks the same and so will the trains but that's about where it stops. Again, it's an Intamin and no, it's not a Maverick "spin-off". The parallels being drawn between the two rides has to do with the idea that both are of the new era in coaster design. The fact of the matter is that both rides will feature this new idea of compact high thrill layout, with more than vertical descent and extraordinary air time mixed with first of their kind design elements, and periods of above average velocity. Not to mention the braking technology, ride manufacturing, operation procedure, and track style will be very much the same. On a more micro-intamate ride-to-ride comparison there are many more differences past first glance, as you mention, however on a Macro genre-to-genre level both coasters will be quite similar! Browntggrr Posted September 29, 2007 Share Posted September 29, 2007 ^^ The similarities are that both coasters are low to the ground, have numerous and very quick transitions, have inversions, and use smaller than traditional trains.
