The Interpreter Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 While reading the forii at Geauga Lake Today, I found this page of this thread. Some VERY interesting pictures of a fire in Dominator's station, which apparently occurred Sunday last: Scroll about half way down the page: http://www.freepowerboards.com/geaugalaket...-0-asc-315.html Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 3 possibilities: Fire was set by the park or fire department. (unlikely since deconstruction isn't finished) Fire was a result of a construction mishap. (most likely) Fire was set by a crazy enthusiast. (you're all suspects!!!) Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 All I can say is some one had a big "OPPS". Quote
Beast1979 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 ^ ^ HAA! ! Is it possible for steel to burn? I hope nothing happens to KD's next coaster. Man, I swear. Wow. I noticed that one of the members on the forums site were named, Cedarfairsucks. HA! I reconized some of the members from KIC, Quote

The Interpreter Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 ...but only after an immediate arson investigation, checking out thoroughly the literal host of people with motives and perhaps even a modus operandi. Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 Translated into English: If that thing ever burned, there would be a huge investigation, due to the large amount of insurance, the number of people who would profit from it being gone, and the number of people who would know how to make it go bye-bye. That better? (Modus operandi is Latin for "way to do it.") Quote
Cody Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 I wouldnt mind seeing SOB go now, Its lost its style and loop; So props to the person or people who decide to burn it to the ground Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 This is a place to point out that no ride should be burned, that setting things on fire for profit is called arson and is illegal, and that fires cause air pollution, can endanger fire fighters and the lives and property of others, including the lives of those on the highway as the fire fighters race to protect lives and property. Seriously. . . (and yes, I understand your point, but that still needs to be said...) Particularly during this, October, which is National Fire PREVENTION Month.... Have you had your fire drill yet? Do you know your escape route? Quote
The Interpreter Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 ^^ i like SOB You and quite a few other people. And that's just fine. There are plenty of rides I adore that others love to despise. Some day come sit for a spell and I will tell you the story of Rolling Thunder at Six Flags Great Adventure, and the time I rode it 86 times in one day. Most others love that ride nearly as much as many of the posters here do Son of Beast (which is to say, not at all). I also love the Georgia Cyclone, which many, many others believe to be a bone shaking monstrosity. Then again, some here, even, like Ninja in that park. I'd rather ride a Kroger cart down a rocky mountainside! So, yes, that's fine... Quote
Cory Butcher Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 count me in as one who liked Ninja quite a bit and got shaken rider syndrome on GC! I have told you though interpreter, I will get back on it in another place in the train, before I completely judge it! Quote

(unlikely since deconstruction isn't finished) Fire was a result of a construction mishap. (most likely) Fire was set by a crazy enthusiast. (you're all suspects!!!) Just to verify: I did not do it, that is burn it down. I was not near Dominator at 0 hour. I could not do it for you see, I am a roller coaster freak that is plane to me. I could not do it no matter if the ride was good or bad, because burning a roller coaster would be so sad. So the next time you are on a roller coaster and you think it stinks, don't burn it down because it might be my favorite ride in that town. Quote
FOFirehawkFAN Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 It was caused by a hot bolt that landed on the roof durring removal of the track directly above. Quote
Beast1979 Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 So, someone oopsed while taking it to KD? Quote
