Jasper
Does anyone else find it weird that they used thew dominator name? I for one cannot wait to see this massive vertical loop.
The Interpreter
DOMINator is a great name for a ride at Kings DOMINion.... Besides, virtually no one in Kings Dominion's marketing area except the most rabid of coaster enthusiasts has ever heard of Dominator. It is a good choice. The Interpreter
When you yak as much as I do, you are apt to get lots of things right and a few of them not right. Tis the way it is!
CoastersRZ
Well, they kept the Thunderhawk name at Michigan`s Adventure. So it is not surprising they are keeping the Dominator name at Kings Dominion. With that announcement, it now means that Kings Island in 2008 will be the only one of the former Paramount Parks that will not have a B&M creation! The Interpreter
I've said it once, I will say it again: Send in the cranes. There ought to be cranes. Well, maybe next year.
Aves
^ NEXT YEAR. For some reason it reminds me of a local football teams motto! ANYWAY, Yea, KI has Lack of B&M Sickness.
KDCOASTERFAN
^ NEXT YEAR. For some reason it reminds me of a local football teams motto! ANYWAY, Yea, KI has Lack of B&M Sickness. Well maybe next season will be their year & obviously it is going in the parking lot ughh but the congo area has too many coasters now as it is.I just hope they paint over the power city logo on the sign if they plan to use it. Now I just looked on their homepage & can't find any info on what the paint scheme will be.Does anyone think they'll keep the yellow/blue colors or paint it in a different color scheme? Of course I did hear that the green/black color combo had been mentioned but that was when there was talk of placing it over by FOF.

jzarley
After the announcement, Cedar Fair stock surged ahead.... Literally. Of course, everyone is up today. The good earnings news from Apple, Yahoo, and others has really helped move the market up in the last few days... And, unfortunately (from a unit holder's perspective anyway) FUN still isn't hitting $25 yet
The Interpreter
Everyone? Nope. SIX was doing well today, until Cedar Fair announced its coaster for Kings Dominion. SIX then fell, and closed down three cents.
CoastersRZ
Yeah. Cedar Fair`s unit price has been bogged down of late. Ever since they announced their attendance and revenues through Labor day, the unit price has been less then favorable for those who hold units (including myself). But as long as they continue to pay out their cash distribution, I will be happy.
PKIVortex
Doesn't that first paragraph sound familiar to anyone. Kings Dominion will soar to new heights in 2008 with the introduction of its 14th roller coaster, Dominator. Debuting in late spring, this innovative 4,210-foot steel coaster will be the longest floorless coaster in the world and have the tallest roller coaster loop. Kings Island will soar to new heights in 2007 with the introduction if it's 14th roller coaster, Firehawk. Debuting in late spring, this innovate flying coaster........................... The Interpreter
Fill in the blank press release writing. Even down to quoting the GM about the park's heritage and how the new coaster fits... http://www.rcdb.com/document232.htm Each GM even said virtually the exact same words: ...reflects our commitment to combining one-of-a-kind attractions [oops, at Kings Island it was thrills] with fantastic family entertainment. We're looking for some real thrill seekers... It's eerie, I tell you.
KDCOASTERFAN
Maybe we are getting a B&M next year..?¿?¿ I was thinking more along the lines of 2009 as being KI's year.I shoulda made that more clear in my original post.
Jasper
whoaaaa signs, signs, everywhere a sign blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind do this, don't do that. can't you read the signs? Wow i was thinking of the same exact song. Except my version was. Sign said must be 54 inches tall to ride. So i put toilet paper in my shoes and went to ask the ride op why. He said you look like your tall enought to ride hop on. I took off m shoes and i said imagine huh me riding with you.
CoastersNSich
Yes! They're keeping the Dominator name. Hopefully there'll be a little surge in season pass sales at KD. In somewhat related news, the park formerly known as Paramount's Great America is becoming California's Great America. http://themeparkvillage.com/gallery/displa...&fullsize=1 It hasn't been officially announced, but it's quietly emerging on park signs. A good way to differentiate from its Six Flags "twin" in Illinois.
