BoddaH1994
I have to admit. It peaked my interest. You may see me at Camden next year to check it out.
KIBeast
It is definitely worth it, Ryan. That is a fun haunted house. Not scary, but fun. I didn't read the article, but isn't it one of the only gravity driven haunted houses left? I think that's what I remember. That, and the fact that it was nearly considered a coaster due to the chain lift or something of that nature.
The Interpreter
...and the other is at Conneaut Lake Park. The futures at both parks are iffy. Get there if they are open and you at all can...
Oldiesmann
I at least managed to make it to Camden a number of years ago. May have to see if I can take a day trip out there again this year.
The Interpreter
As the season looms... Will Camden Park open? Conneaut likely will, but either park is touch and go. They NEED your support. Sadly, don't expect much these days.
Oldiesmann
Camden Park's Facebook page claims they'll be opening on the 30th.
freaks76
Just gettin ready to say the same thing about their Facebook page. Then I got busy. I seen in December where they got hit with 65,000 dollars from OSHA for quite a few "serious violations", but if they fixed them they wouldn't have to pay the fines. I'm assuming this has everything to do opening/ not opening scenario. Anything you can shed some light on, Terp? It would be a terrible shame for Camden to fall by the wayside.
moore271
I saw a few drone shots of the park on Facebook from a profile called Jrc's Drones. Here's one of the shots: Link: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1607729406216122&set=a.1422598998062498.1073741828.100009372352827&type=3&theater
KIBeast
I heard that they received private donations to deal with the OSHA issues and will be opening for 2016. I will go at least twice as my son loves it. I really need to get a Pronto Pup.
The Interpreter
I hope and trust they used the donations to fix the issues, not to pay the fines.
thedaveyboyshow
I am about 20 minutes from Camden Park. I am going to head over there at least once this year. To my err, I have not been since I graduated high school - too many years (decades). I will try to take plenty of photos and share a trip report.
KIBeast
I think Interpreter, if they fix the issues, OSHA will either drop the fines or reduce them considerably. In that pic above, it appears the ride next to Paratrooper is no longer there. Wonder what that is about?
moore271
It looks like the Bullseye (that was between the Paratrooper and the Rattler) has been removed from the park's website. They replied to someone on the opening weekend event on Facebook that the ride had been retired and that something new was being built there.
KIBeast
Oh wow, that is really cool. It will be interesting to see what Camden is going to add in that area. I rode that ride years ago when it was the Rainbow. I couldn't talk my son into riding it last summer.
