Tuskin Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Very interesting read. Big Dipper only 50,000.. Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Yeah, that's not exactly what I would call a steep price for a coaster. Quote
Tuskin Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Agreed .... at least on the Big Dippers Price ..... but on RWB thats a different story Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Big Dipper could be worth the investment for my backyard. Just think of all the people lining up paying $3 a ride to ride this historcal roller coaster. Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Big Dipper could be worth the investment for my backyard. Just think of all the people lining up paying $3 a ride to ride this historcal roller coaster. Well, considering how many people lined up to ride it last year, you may want to reconsider? LOL Quote
Cory Butcher Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 So um, this is deffinately going in my grandparents back field. I do happen to know a family member who has a 75,000 dollar limit of credit on their card...I'll have to look into exploiting them....I mean pleading with them, lol! Quote
Raptor66 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Na, my grandparents have a nice big field to put this in. On second thought, It would look nice in the wooded ravine behind my house. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 The $50,000 isn't bad, but where are you going to get the 2 million it'll take to deconstruct, transport, and construct it? Quote
PKIDelirium Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Those prices are incorrect. They just pulled the original construction costs from the RCDB pages, thinking it was the current price. Quote
The Interpreter Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 Not to mention, it's an auction. . . Quote
raptor Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Could make a nice addition to either coney island or strickers grove Quote
PKIDelirium Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I'd like to see Coney get Big Dipper. I think even that would be a little too big for Stricker's right now. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I don't know for sure that Sticker's owns enough land for the Big Dipper. On top of that, I don't know that they have a big enough maintenance department to take care of it. Coney would be a much better option. Quote
raptor Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Would be awesome to see it at coney, although I'm sure that won't happen Quote
Tuskin Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Highly doubtful, but would definatly bring some more people to coney =^) Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 I still like the in my backyard idea the best. I will drive up there and take it down my self Quote
Keysersoze Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 It's too bad, I still say the Dipper would do great at Kings Island. With Kings Island and there thing with wooden coasters I figure it would fit right in, as a peice of history that it is. Quote
adventure2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Yeah I think Coney would be a great place for it . Im not really a big fan of Coney myself but I do know alot of people that go there in the summer. This would be a great main attraction for them to draw in more people. I might even go to ride it a few times myself if it were there just for a change of pace. My back yard would always be nice also. Quote
art_star Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 pack it all into a Uhaul. Get a couple of buddies and a 24 pack and that thing will be in your backyard in no time. Quote
