KIBeast
What I am really interested in, since we already know what kind of coaster it is, is how heavy the theming will be. Should do them good that the Dark Knight movie is released this year.
The Interpreter
Yep, there are those who say the coaster ricochets along its track! (Dark Knight, sans the box and theming: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1478.htm?picture=7 ) (With apologies to Carowinds of Charlotte)

CoastersRZ
Notice that in that construction diary, they mentioned footings, the correct terminology. Although, they also said "drying concrete." Concrete doesn`t "dry" as there is a chemical reaction that takes place between the water and the cement, known as hydration. Instead, it cures. It takes 28 days for concrete to cure to 98% strength, and a full year to achieve its maximum strength. Which is partly the reason why you see footing poured and then left alone for several weeks. (Although it can accept loads after about a week of time, assuming they did not place admixtures in it to speed up the curing process). But that is more information about concrete then most cared to know about .
KIBeast
Footers, footings, who really cares (other than engineering students) as long as everyone knows what is being talked about?
The Interpreter
Odd, since CoastersRZ is NOT an engineering student. And if you knew how architects and engineers typically get along . . . --Terpy, who has seen this far too often!
KIBeast
I'm just saying that other coaster sites I go to, footers is an acceptable term. Why it has to be a huge issue here is WAY beyone me.
HTCO
I hope they put some kind of Heath Ledger memorial by the ride. It looks great so far!
Cory Butcher
And if you knew how architects and engineers typically get along . . . --Terpy, who has seen this far too often! I once had a drafting teacher of mine say that it seems to never fail that Architects over-design and Engineers over-complicate!

Beast1979
Looks like a fun ride, and I can't wait to see how a finished version looks.
The Interpreter
Word is expect shortly after mid-May at Great Adventure. And to think that Mr. Snyder and Mr. Shapiro made great fun of Mr. Story for rides never opening with the season at the old Six Flags. Then again, they also made fun of Mr. Story for always blaming the weather for lower attendance, which they have understandably and correctly done several times since. It's a lot easier to criticize from the outside than it is to run from the inside!
