Guest kwindshawne Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Well Im at cross roads on this one returning to the park to work.... I really didnt like this year really, Just alot of drama, fussing and CP kinda didnt help much. I dont want names, I just wanna know whos going back? whos not! and why =D P.s: hope everyone had a great christmas As long as my situation remains the same as it is now, I am going back. This was a piece of cake compared to my regular job and besides, my sups are some of the best people I have ever worked with. Quote
Guest kwindshawne Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I forgot to add as long as gas prices dont go too high..if they do, I will have to find something closer to home. Quote
bparrott03 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I feel you on that one. I live in Dayton and I drive a SUV so gas is a big issue for me, but its worth it because I love my job and I'm returning next year. I loved everyone I worked with. I started late in the season, but all my co-workers and supervisors were really nice and got the job done. Can't wait to go back! Happy Holidays. Quote
Snake Attack! Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I will be back! I love working at Kings Island so much it is about this time of year that I start really missing the park. Quote
Guest kwindshawne Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I will be back! I love working at Kings Island so much it is about this time of year that I start really missing the park. Me too. But gas is gonna to play in my decision a lot this year. If not working, I may not make it there much this season. Quote
The Interpreter Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I actually thought he was responding to the voice at the end of Phantom Theater! --You'll be back!!!!! Cackle! Quote
KIBeast Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 Well Im at cross roads on this one returning to the park to work.... I really didnt like this year really, Just alot of drama, fussing and CP kinda didnt help much. I dont want names, I just wanna know whos going back? whos not! and why =D P.s: hope everyone had a great christmas Did you mean CF? I couldn't see how CP had anything to do with KI. Just figured it was a typo. I've heard a lot of good and bad that has come from CF. Quote
Cody Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 aww your right my bad I didn't really look over. Next time I will refer it as the new ownership! lol but did anyone get their packets in the mail yet? Quote
Cory Butcher Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 no, I havent got mine. I have a feeling they will be out fairly soon. The new hire info and online aplication stuff is online now, and has been for the last week, this monday I believe! We are getting closer, I can smell the funnel cakes and jolly rancher smoothies already! Quote
Cory Butcher Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 well, everyone I know has gotten their packet, I got the mail today, and I still don't have mine, I guess I wait for another day! Quote
Cory Butcher Posted January 4, 2008 Posted January 4, 2008 rehire status I think, Im not to sure though. Quote
UCbengal985 Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Not returning. It was fun while it lasted. By the way, this is actually just my first time posting here. I've been lurking for a while now though, and I figured I ought to start replying to some of these threads. Quote
PKIVortex Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 When I worked at KI, they use send us a rehire packet in late December. You had to refill out an application, availability sheet etc. Then the second weekend of January was always rehire processing weekend, here you found what your placement was for that upcoming season. At least they did for rides. Quote
geekman Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 For rides this year it has a sheet of paper telling what you will make this year and then it says you can go to HR and put in a new application or go to the website and put one in and say you are returning. You will then get info about paperwork later this month. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Keep in mind that Ohio`s minimum wage went up effective the first of January. It had been $6.85 on December 31st. But it is now $7 an hour. Quote
PKIVortex Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 It's sad to think when I started working at KI in 1999 I only got paid $5.50 an hour. But we had a .50 cent per hour worked end of season bonus. Then between 1999 and 2000, they raised all returns up to $7.00 an hour, and new hires started out at 6.50. With the minimum wage now being at 7 how much do most returns make now? Quote
PKIVortex Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 It was nice though during FearFest we got paid an extra $1.00 an hour. Do they still do that? Quote
Monroe Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 My first job, I made $1.25 an hour with a $.25 an hour bonus, but only if all the horses were happy in their clean stalls. Quote
DeLorean Rider Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 ...I remember when people got fired for posting pay rates and rehire info on here, I guess times have changed... Quote
CoastersRZ Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Back when I started at Coney in 2002, I was making $5.25 an hour (not including the now defunct bonus program, which bit the dust this past season with the hike in the minimum wage). Quote
