Does anyone know whether or not Kings Island is planning to repaint whatever they will call Top Gun? If this is unknown...any theories as to whether they will? It was looking rather...shall we say...under the weather last season with the faded blue paint and the rust. The rust is what gets me...it actually makes it look unsafe whether or not it is. Did I ride it...of course! But it still doesn't make for the greatest looks.

This surprises me. Most people seem to like TG. I wouldn't call it a favorite of mine either, but I really don't want to see it go...that's just one less coaster to ride.

First they are no blue paint on Top Gun. It would be nice if they do repaint it for the 2008 season, but I have no idea if they will or not.

LOL, and Top Gun is not the worst ride in the park. At least it doesn't beat you up, unlike that big woody next to it. I know it's smoother but it still kinda jolts ya in the rose bowl.

By your opinion it is, which is a minority. Top Gun is still a popular ride for a short line, and although it is short, it still packs a punch.

I have to give you that! The walk is longer than the ride. I read somewhere that it has the longest queue in the park.

IMO I find White Water Canyon to have a longer queue but know one ever complains about it.......

I don't think Top Gun's Que is anywhere as near as long at White Water Canyon's. I even have waited the entire length of that que to ride WWC.

don't forget about the "aircraft carrier" portion of the queue under the station. I'm not sure how much that would add, as I've never had to wait in it (or been willing) to see how much is under there.

that is because wwc is a long enough ride you can take a breather while on it before you have to take the walk back

and top gun has a longer queue than wwc

Aw, they're just mad 'cause TG's not a Beemer. If it was a suspended Beemer, then there wouldn't be any complaints.

Heck, if Italian Job was an Intamin, there wouldn't be any complaints about its location or ride experience.

I beg to differ. IJST would be ugly and ill-sited even if John Miller designed it, IF it looked and sounded as it does right now. The Tiques, it ain't.

^Nahh it probably looks crowded because of the extremely long path....Hurler & Rebel yell at KD are pretty much the same setup in terms of overly long physical path length from the midway to the station.

I saw several long lines for TG in 2007.

The only time ive waited over 20 minutes for TG is in 07'. TG isn't the most popular ride in the park but alot of people enjoy it... i love TG.

If they are hitting all of the intervals, they could still be sending out full trains, yet the queue line could be virtually non-existant.

Well this past year i waited 25mins for TG.The same day i rode The Beast 5 times in a row with little to no wait at all.The Beast was running full speed with full trains as long as TG.Yeah Tg would look alot better if it had new paint.Just casue the line is not long dont mean people dont ride it.It could just be that the ride is running goog dand there sendn out full trains.Plus there is always people in line for TG somewhere along the line that is lol.

This coaster has some bad things going for it...

It's built by Arrow. It's in Ohio. It's owned by Cedar Fair. It's on the edge of the park.

Which means it has similarities to Magnum XL-200.

It's not that much more. At least it's not as much as you're probably thinking. The effects were pretty cool when they were working. The "smoke" made me sick each and every time I went through it. darn, I'm old.

When it first opened, and Top Gun had all of its' theming working, it was one of the best themed rides. And I don't expect the theming to get any better considering who is running KI now.
