I just have a question for anyone who may have the information.

This year at Kings Island, can we expect to be parking in for example, FLIGHT DECK, rows 1-8 in the main parking lot.

Or Backlot Stunt Coaster rows 1-8, Invertigo rows 1-8, etc.?

Well from following the current trends of naming stuff outta Cedar Fair, I'd say to expect Row 1, Row 2, Row 3, Row 4.

Also the north and south toll booths will become Entrance A, and Entrance B.

Well, to the best of my knowledge, Kings Island has only used the North parking lot entrance on the busiest of days, typically Saturdays, for many many years now. Long before Cedar Fair purchased the park, in fact.

Too bad we can't go back to the days of HB named rows. Much easier to remember.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! I thought those were so cool. Even the current characters---Scooby Doo, Dora, Spongebob, Rugrats, Shaggy, Bill, etc... would be a breath of fresh air. That would be a great idea. KI you should think about that one. B)

ALSO BRINGING BACK THE TROLLEY WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I usually just remember where I park. Not too complicated. I don't even need row names or numbers.

Yes, but you are very familiar with the park. If I had a dollar for every time I have lost my car at Kings Dominion (and ONLY at Kings Dominion....that's the poorest marked parking lot I have EVER been to, and the similarity to Kings Island's parking lot just makes it worse!)

The solution to never getting lost in the parking lot at an amusement park is simple, arrive early. That way you are always right near the gate.

Huh? Ever hear of preferred parking? Arrive as early as you like at Great Adventure, for instance...and you will still be a LOOOOONG way from the gate. Unless'n you want to pay $25, or more, for parking, that is...or are disabled.

Shuttle services make preferred parking less necessary....just a thought.

Then again, Six Flags has shuttle service at Great Adventure and still has preferred parking. Cedar Point, a park that desperately needs shuttle service, has neither it nor preferred parking, last time I checked.

I miss the shuttle Service. :(

I agree with you. Why did they take that away and when? They should bring it back. After walking around the park all day and night, its a very long walk to and from the car.

And how are they to sell preferred parking if they have trams again?

Sorry, but revenue is a major concern right now for Cedar Fair and for the entire industry. Virtually no one doesn't go to parks just because they dropped the trams.

No, but it's all part of an "experience."

Sets the stage and helps bring a great day to nice conclusion.

Not certain why that is not considered.

Why not? Because people just keep coming back for more, and spending, spending, spending. Listen to conference calls...its all about EBITDA and per caps. And shuttle services help neither....

And people would continue to come without costumed characters.

But it's part of an experience.

If you keep cutting back on the areas that create that experience, there no longer is an "experience."

Not saying that trams make or break anyone's time at a park.

But the culmination of everything eventually does have an effect.

Not having the trams doesn't change how much I enjoy the park, but I always parked by the tram stop so that when I left and was all worn out and footsore, I knew that I had a ride right back to my car. It was just nice to not have to walk.

yeah it was nice to know that you would have a ride back to your car at night after you were worn out

Well, at least Kings Island and Kings Dominion only have one parking lot! Coney has two parking lots. One (the east one) is for pass holders and people that purchase tickets. The other parking lot (the west one) is for group sales picnic groups. So when you get guests asking which way to the parking lot, you often have to look and see if they are wearing a group picnic wristband or not, so you can give them directions to the proper parking lot!

If you've been walking all day long, what's a few more steps to the car?

Have we really gotten that lazy as a society?

Why does it got to be that society is LAZY? A FEW more steps to the car, for some it could be another walk to the other end of the parking lot! After walking the park from open to close for some, a ride even somewhat close to the car would be nice. Besides that like someone said earlier, It's the experience. For years KI had the tram. I've always remembered it. Last year was the first time in awhile I've been to KI, and I was telling my family about it. When we got there, no tram. How long has it been gone anyway? Hopefully one of these days they will bring it back. :)

Were they expensive to run??? because they are still sitting by the old greenhouse behind GWL.

I want to say that it was last used in 2005. I`m not sure if they used the trams at all in the early part of 2006. Part of the demise of the tram is when the park removed removed the tram circle by the front gates for the 2005 season. And except for on those extremely busy Saturdays in the summer, there really was no need for the trams on most typical summer days.

I guess its like the reason you send Thank You notes to people who bring you gifts. Does not sending them mean you get less gifts? Probably not.

Its like anything else. A company can run itself any way it wants to. They are free to pay their executives as many millions as they want. Personally I like to think that the companies that survive in the future are ones that go out of their way for their customers, not just see how much they can bleed from them.
