Errors on the Site.

Featured Replies

Working on them, a script went haywire and cause the others to disable themselves, causing errors.

Most features should be up now, the rest at 8pm EST.

Having a problem when trying to view posts. If the string "&view=getnewpost" is included in the URL of a post, I just get a blank screen. After manually removing that string, I can view the thread just fine.

Also tons of errors while posting, and blank screen when making the initial post (though the post is still made).

I know you're still working on things, just figured I'd give a heads up, in case it helps.

I'll ask later if you find any problems. As I said ETA is 8pm, I'm just trying to get the site accessible.

Hey Dane, on KIC mainpage and forums, I am getting an message at the top of IE that says "This website wants to run the following add-on: 'Remote Data Services Data Control' from 'Microsoft Corporation'. Is this something you have been working on?

No, but this has just gotten weirder after talking to other invision forum owners, it happened to their sites too.

Heh, no I reverted it all back to default skins. I figured out what had happened and we were not the only ones. Someone exploited a bug in php. Therefore everything that runs on php was effected.

Hey Dane. I do have a question for ya. This board has always looked awesome but I did wonder why when you switched over why you guys left the Invision Power board logo at the top of the forums and not replace it with your own.

That command can be caused by a number of things. Ad placement or even someone hacking into invision. Its usually nothing. But most Likely hidden iframes. I would change passwords for the boards admins.

This wont happen in Firefox of opera.

If you get problems with this kind of virus, simplest fix is to: Tha is commonly a trojan but not by the doing of this site, it happens at times, yay for the internet...lol

Alot of times these things get stored in your cache.

- run MSConfig

- Goto Startup tab

- Disable any startup items that aren't anti-virus

- reboot, and scan computer

- if your av cannot remove the probs, download AVG and scan using that

- Once cleared, run msconfig and switch on any required startup software. AVG should have removed any viral registry entries, but if it hasn't it will detect when they try and start - move to the vault.

Everything should be ok now, let me know is anything pops up and what page you were on.

The site is working good for me now, but last night it froze up my computer a few times.

I still got the trojan last night when trying to check out this site. You might want to call or see if you can make sure it gets fixed.

Here is what I am getting while accessing the KIC forums (I am using IE7 Windows XP SP2):

"qttask.exe made 184 modifications to your Windows Startup Settings"

"A browser exploit at www.KICentral.com was blocked." "MSIE ADODB Stream Object File Installation Weakness"

I got 7 Trojan.ByteVerify

I got 3 Downloader.Zlob!gen.2 (it put fsxlogf.exe, bdmanager.dll, and admgcx.dll on my computer)

These three viruses were supposedly removed by Norton, but I don't trust it.

Every single time I access this site, and every time I change from page to page this pops up. I can close it, remove it, and it pops up every time I change pages. Any advice?

So is this script virus ever going to be fixed anytime soon??

While using FireFox at home has fixed my prior issues with IE, I'm not so lucky to have FireFox at work and every time I go to KICentral at work, my computer crashes at that point!

Thanks a lot and hopefully you can get this fixed as in over 3 years of coming to KIC (the 1st yr as a lurker), this has never been a problem before!? Thanks for your help.

Are you still getting errors after this post? My IE and Norton isnt finding anything with the stock skin.

And just for some history, we have been hacked once before for having a old copy of V1.4 of Invision forums.

I'll load IE now and see....

EDIT:

Sweet!!! I just launched IE and am using it now and am getting no errors!!! The true test will be tomorrow at work, but so far, so good!! Thanks a lot for whatever you did to correct that!

Just wanted to let you know I'm at work and using IE and all seems to be fine!

Thanks again for doing whatever you did!
