MarketingExpress Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Nice article... Seems like every year around this time or around the time the park opens daily that an article comes out about the maintenance and safety of the rides from one of the local news organizations. Quote
DegenRider Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 This is what we call a "fluff" story. Its not news worthy but hey it will fill some time. Quote

LongliveKingsCobra Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 That was a good comeback...Me like! Quote
Jasper Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Man it is hard to belive that has almost been a year ago. I do not think that is a good thing to joke around about not saying you were or anything though. Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 I'm not. One of the primary reasons that article appeared is due to the Kentucky Kingdom incident. Topics fresh on the viewers' and readers' minds resonate. Quote
Purplehaze Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 That article will be on everyones minds for awhile, such a tragic event. Hopefuly somehow, someway good will come out of it. Quote
Jasper Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Well Superman Tower Of Power is gone and hopefully every park around the world now will take afety very serious to prevent another incident like this from ever happening again. Quote

As true as that statement is Terp, this is a fill story. 9 on Your Side is full of them: Just something to fill in the gaps between major stories. Thus, called a "fluff" story. Its also a moral booster to KI (probably done because KI asked) to reassure visitors, and to get as many who faced concerns about safety back to the park. Quote

Its also a moral booster to KI (probably done because KI asked) to reassure visitors, and to get as many who faced concerns about safety back to the park. It's not a fluff story. A fluff story would be like an, "oh god, we have an empty 5 minute segment that we need to fill!" thing. Channel 9 made very special arrangements with both Kings Island and the state of Ohio to do this story long in advance. They also spent many many hours in the park to get the shots they wanted. They wouldn't do that for a quick shoot. Quote
DegenRider Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Its not news worthy though its still fluff. Only thing they did was try to link it to the SFKK thing Quote
SOB_TOM Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 DEGENS BACK!!!! It is a filler story. I guarantee you that if a bigger story broke, they would delay the story until the next day. That makes it a fluff story. And Ryan, no matter how long they spend in a park, its still a fluff story. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I gotta agree, this is nothing but blatant promotion and a filler spot. Quote
