I rode the crypt today, it was awful, the scenery really makes the ride i guess, well, this ride anyway. And i think that it would be totaly cool it they striped the crypt of its scenery and gave it a sort of futuristic theme, with alot of strobe lights and stuff. what do you think?

I think that would be a good idea if the ride was located else where. But with it's current location in rivertown, that is a VERY bad idea. The way they maintain the themes in areas is okay at best right now, but if they put a futuristic themed ride in rivertown that's over the line!

Fro some reasons your idea reminds me of Disaster Transport at CP.

^Oh yes- let's turn a crappy ride into an even crappier one!

The Crypt, on the other hand, just has a crappy themeing job.

I don't know how expensive they are, but I can think of many things that can be done with those giant LED boards (like at Times Square, NY, or that street in Vegas) to theme an indoor ride like the Crypt.

Again, why would you want them to remvoe the building? Granted, it would provide a visual dominance in Rivertown, the ride and part of the line are enclosed and in air conditioning. Which when the heat indices start topping out above the century mark, The Crypt is a nice ride to go to in order to get a brief respite.

Not to mention, tearing down a building isn`t exactly cheap. And don`t forget that when the actual ride is enclosed, it is not as apt to suffer weather related downtime due to the ride itself being exposed to the elements.

They need to do something, how expensive is turning on the water, flashing a couple lights and funnin' up the place in general?

Remember, this is Cedar Fair. They have a hug debt to pay off. Why spend nickels and dimes on things that only a few guests will notice? Besides, it is not like people aren`t riding the 'new' Crypt anymore. Heck, I`ve ridden that ride more this year then I did all of last year, just because of its new, and very intense ride program!

After walking through the jungle theme into the crypt themed queue it is only natural to look around once you take your seat and observe how it all comes together at the start of the ride. This ride's theme is half-assed and it gives a very poor impression of Cedar Fairs effort and attention to detail. Very little investment could provide a huge boost to the overall entertainment this ride could offer. it is an "amusement" park afterall.

Oh, I'm quite certain that if there were a giant topspin exposed in Rivertown, more than a few would notice.

It actually may be quite a move to remove the building with the opening of the new coaster.

Can you imagine the excitement that would be in that area of the park?

Not to mention the fact that it would basically be a desolate island in a sea of grass what without all the trees behind it now.

Not to mention, for anyone who rode it last year when the sound was off, when there is no music or "wind effects" playing, that thing makes some very nasty noises that while the ride is ok, it sure doesn't sound that way to the average guest.

Did they really still leave the tropical theme outside?! I haven't been yet but sounds to me like someone just threw the theming together in like 5 minutes with out even thinking. So now it's a scary, demon inhabited cavern somewhere in an Africa-esque western town????? And we complained when Paramount slapped this baby down.

Anywho, some additional effects to this ride. I still say a larger scale, WORKING, version of the demon bat thing would be pretty cool inside along with some smoke effects, some sound effects from The Bat. Maybe some skeletons in the bottom and some sound effects like someone screaming for help...oh wait...nevermind. That could work while boarding though. CF has the potential to make this ride into something pretty awesome but I'm not real sure if the ride program allows for these ideas...does it?

i just wanted some strobe lightes, how did the building being torn down into play?

Do you know how many people get effected by stobes? I find it disorenting, and think about how bad it would be flipping upsidedown and such.

And as far as Cheap Theming goes, I really don't care for the themeing! I am just there for the rides. And for me, the themeing doesn't makee the ride as much as it adds to the ride. Like Extra Credit, and the Crypt in my books Aced the test but swung and missed on the bonus points.

Plus it's not like its not within Cedar Fairs power to give it a fantastic themeing, They've got a massive Debt Load! They're trying desprately to payof a debt, and you expect them to pay insert large amount of money here to retheme a ride? Not to mention, they have bigger fish to fry on the other side of the midway! ;)

That bat works, alright. It's just that some members of the general public have a nasty habit of complaining about being too scared when monsters pop up or 'attack' all of a sudden. Apparently a few people got so scared of the giant bat creature or might have fainted or something (bat phobia, I guess?) that now they decided to turn it off to stop the complaints.

Which, after now seeing the general publics' reaction to the sudden 'rash' of cicadas, just about proves the sheer idiocy of a majority of parkgoers.

Also, the new ride program should allow for some more set pieces to be installed in the rid chamber, as certain points along the course of the ride are when the vehicle stops for a second and stares at the old photo cameras or the ceiling where the icicles used to be at.

The lack of the re-themeing makes me think maybe they are thinking of getting rid of it... Although its not that old and it would be a waste of money.

I still say that CF should contact nbc/universal about borrowing rights from Tales From The Crypt... and adding the cryptkeeper and and all his ghoulish fiends and giving us a slamming ride to top it off.

^ I LOVED Tales from the Crypt. Imagine having that music and right when the ride starts, hearing the Keeper's laugh!! :o

Me likes that idea. Can I vote???

What about Elvira and then tie it in with the FX Theater Elvira Gig?

I would run out of that place so fast.. :D

If lack of theming were any indication, Disaster Transport at Cedar Point would have been gone long ago, so I wouldn't worry about that.

I can't believe i just read that. RingMaster you completly made that up, you have no grounds for your information and it is totally false. I hate when people just make up crap.
