Racer1972
I've been noticing quite a bit of trash in the parking lot at KI. has there or will there be trash cans in the parking lot? or would it create a hazard for cars.
TOPGUN1993
At the end of each night there is like a street sweeper that cleans up the parking lot around 2am.

There are indeed trashcans in the parking lot. Cleaners or no cleaners, the trash in the parking lot is the result of people simply being rude and inconsiderate toward others and the envirenment. CoastersRZ
You should have seen how the main midway looked right inside the front gate after the fireworks. There was a ton of trash from people who had sat down on the pavers to watch the fireworks. After the show, they simply got up and exited, leaving all their trash right on the ground! Yeah, ALOT of people at KI seem to be like that. Fortunately for us, the teenagers in the yellow shirts are doing a good job of keeping the park clean so we can have a good day at the park
dare-to-fly
I've even seen some of the ride ops at certain coasters cleaning up trash in non-hazardous areas around the coasters.
The Interpreter
I subscribe to the theory that many, many more people are eating more and more food in the parking lot, due to the higher in park pricing. If you think Kings Island's parking lot is trashy, you should see some Six Flags parks at the end of the day, especially Great Adventure. I truly believe more guests at that park eat outside the park than in it. I also think many guests are so upset with the parks over their in park pricing, they feel entitled to trash the parking lot, the restrooms, the employees and to act belligerently. They aren't entitled, but they feel they are.

iChase
I'm stunned by the sheer volume of people who just think they can throw their trash anywhere. Not only at KI, but anywhere. Why is it okay to flick your cigarette out the window of your car? Why is it okay to toss your "literocola" on the ground before you get in your car to leave the park? How can one possibly justify tossing trash anywhere but it's designated area? I've heard a few lame justifications, "It's convenient" or "Who cares? I'm not going to be here in 100 years." Ugh. dare-to-fly
Why is it okay to flick your cigarette out the window of your car? Something that aggravates me to an ultimate level when traveling behind said morons.
Guest kwindshawne
I agree. I had someone flick a cigarette once coming from the opposite direction, and had the guy waited another second it would have hit my open window. It hit my windshield as it was. People just plain don't care, and it disgusts me. One thing up here-I don't see a lot of that.
MarketingExpress
If you keep it clean they'll respect it; if you let it get dirty, they're only going to make it worse -Walt Disney Your quote reminds me of the 2005 season at IJST when people would continue to pile more and more garbage onto an already overflowing trash can instead of walking 20 feet to the next one that was only half as full. Browntggrr
....and people criticize CF for an insane amount of garbage cans in their parks. It is easier to collect and dispose garbage from a can than it is to collect garbage from the ground.

It's nice when you have to throw something away to be able to just look around (or look 2 feet) and see just what you need a few steps away. Amen to that A couple other parks I've been to (Namely "The Magic Kingdom" and "The Epcot Center, two Disney parks in florida) Are particularly horrible about trash cans. In their infinite wisdom, they placed nowhere near enough cans in their parks, which leads to trash all over the pathways, which, in turn, makes for a very bad experience in their parks. Cedar Fair however, I have no complaints about. They have plenty of cans placed around the park, which makes people more inclined to make a short walk to a garbage can rather than casually tossing their garbage aside. And, for the people who don't care to make that short walk, Cedar Fair makes sure their employees stay on the ball to keep the pathways clean, unlike Disney. cassie_KY
Here is a question- Has anyone else besides me noticed the geniuses that run by and bash the trashcans just so the lid comes off? We were at CP and some guy did that. He was with his girlfriend who called him on it and he just shrugs his shoulder and walked off. Did that prove anything or am I just getting old? iChase
I have yet to notice that but just the sound of it makes me angry.
Guest kwindshawne
I see it a lot. Usually it's a male who is angry about something and decides to take it out on the trash can. Very unimpressive, if that is what he is trying to do.
cassie_KY
They killed a poor trash can at AE and saw a couple in Coney last time I was there. It's a headscratcher. I have given massive props to the parkpeople this year. Seems like I am always seeing them around picking and straightening up. Those that trash just to trash make it harder on the workers. I want to say (and have when aggravated enough) help them out a little!!

You're just getting old Kidding, but I haven't noticed this at the park yet. But it does make me mad hearing about it, it's completely pointless to do something like that. Just creates more problems for the workers (My friends and peers, mainly)
iChase
I'm beginning to grow tired of guys trying to show how manly they are. It's called insecurity.
The Interpreter
When the parks catch people doing this, they should prosecute. This kind of vandalism costs us all....parks do not pay money for things out of the goodness of their hearts...they pass the costs along to us, the guests...as well they must. Trash can bashing is really immature and stupid.
geaugafan2013
Okay no offense people but two weeks ago i went Kings Island for my first time and i wasnt at all pleased the WHOLE park had trash cans overflowing and trash everywhere around the park so its not just the parking lot!
