mikejenkins1 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Did anyone read on Screamscape about a possible renaming of the Fairly Odd Coaster to GrandSon of Beast?
welchce Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Try the search feature... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=232002
ahank Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Umm... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry232389 EDIT:: Dang it welchce, you beat me too it!
dare-to-fly Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Just pull out the old Beastie signs and stick them back up. You couldn't ask for a more perfect name for a kiddie coaster anyway. Which is exactly why I still call it that!
Shaggy Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Why not? It's been yellow, green, blue and purple through the years... ;-)
dare-to-fly Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Why not? It's been yellow, green, blue and purple through the years... ;-) So it's time to try red.
KIBeast Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 No, not red. Then, you'll have some on here complaining that KI has too many red coasters...oh wait, they already are.
dare-to-fly Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 No, not red. Then, you'll have some on here complaining that KI has too many red coasters...oh wait, they already are. One is too many? (Taking into consideration that the new one isn't open yet.)
KIBeast Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Even though it hasn't opened yet, I am already hearing grumblings about it being red. Now, you open the new ride which is red, repaint the FOC red, you have Firehawk which is a shade of red, then there would be three total. Not that I really care, as long as the coaster is kick butt.
BoddaH1994 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 As stated in the other thread, I talked to some very credible Kings Island officials and they asked me to assure you that there are no plans to change the name of the Fairly Odd Coaster or any ride in Nickelodeon Universe.
dare-to-fly Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Not that I really care, as long as the coaster is kick butt. How can it be with the stockpile of...oh why do I even have to say it again? You know what I'm going to post. And yes, Beastie has one of those too. I have a strong preference for riding it when it's off. Last October was a lucky month, and I rode it several times.
The Interpreter Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 And even then, the poor beastie has been reprofiled....missing a bunny hill, and a tunnel, too, for that matter....whilst the similar ride at Kings Dominion has had no such changes...

I think you mean a fairy hill. On a serious note, the changes sadden me. It's a classic and shouldn't be changed. The tunnel is no biggie but the hill?

Jmik22 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 They never should have renamed that ride. Even though all the others got Nickolodeon names that one should have stayed the same.

And if they hadn't renamed it, it'd be Scooby Doo. And still have to be renamed...unless they had bought some licensing rights again.
dare-to-fly Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 IMO The Beastie was the very best name it could have. It was unique and tied that particular coaster to the park with a very special (and very cool) name. It should have remained The Beastie forever, and would have required no licensing to do so, hence the reason that it should be returned!

Beast1979 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I think it'd look great with a natural brown, or a bright blue like Scooby at KD.
Beast1979 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 I wonder how it looked when it was yellow when it opened!
Beast1979 Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 ^Cool, the park was so less crowded those days.
WooferBearATL Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 ^Cool, the park was so less crowded those days. Not really.
