taynes
Kings Island, Ohio - The biggest and most exciting new attraction in Kings Island's 36-year history, a 5,282-foot long steel hyper roller coaster named Diamondback, will change the landscape for thrill seekers when the ride makes its debut in April 2009. Diamondback will be the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster at Kings Island. The ride will stand 230 feet at its highest point with a first drop of 215 feet at a 74 degree angle and reach speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour. The ride features 10 vertical drops overall including drops of 193, 131, 129, 110 and 106 feet, two helixes - one at 323 degrees and the other at 287 degrees - and a spectacular splashdown ending. The ride experience on Diamondback will last more than three heart-pounding minutes.
Ohiocoasterman
Can anyone get the videos to work on that site? Also is the web cam up for any of you either?
DropZone99
The videos work for me, but the webcam doesn't.

RailRider
74 degree angle on the first drop. I thought it looked steeper than your normal drop. Should be one nice first drop.
Tuskin
This will be a great addition to the park. Something long over due, a new massive steel coaster
WooferBearATL
Looks amazingly like what Screamscape posted last November. Diamondback will be located in the western themed Rivertown Hmmmm, someone needs to let the Press Release folk know that Rivertown is not based upon a western theme. teenageninja
Long over due for sure. A fast non looping steel. I still love my baby Vortex though.
standbyme
I was hoping for more of a "creature" kind of theme...but I can live with the Diamondback name...the coaster looks amazing!
Oldiesmann
none of them work for me....sadly Try disabling any popup blockers and make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed. Firefox's popup blocker doesn't have a problem with that site, but I can't say if other browsers will or not. The one thing that really disappoints me is that the RSS feed for the blog is broken. I was planning to subscribe to it, but all it outputs is a page saying "An error has occurred!"
DropZone99
How can i record some of the videos?
RailRider
Glad to see the KIC servers have held together today and that we set a new record today. Oh yeah the ride is awesome. Helbig, I must say, its Helbig
Vortexlover2
well, on mine, the videos have had those green diagonal bars going across the bottom for an hour now, and they aren't loading... and I have a pretty good computer, and firefox 3, so I have no idea what the problem is. RailRider
I find it interesting that the lift hill uses the yellow supports we have seen laying at the plant in Batavia and the rest of the ride uses the grayish supports on site.
Jonathan
The supports remind me of Silver Bullet.
