Beast1979 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I tried looking for this topic until I realised, It was pinned! 79 pages, let's see how many we can get by Diamondback opening!
Beast1979 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Hey Beast1975 do you live on here or what? Jeeze it's 1979 how hard is it to type that?
tigellinus Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Great train photo!!!! Does anyone think the train is really that close to DB track, or is it the perception in the photo. Do you think they will have some sort of nets to protect the riders on the train?? I don't know about nets, but the close-ness is more perception for sure. On Saturday I watched the train go under the lowest part of the track, and there was still a good couple of feet between the track and the top of the train's chimney. But nevertheless, most things (and people!) still don't get as close as they do for D-back, especially at such pivotal moments like the bottom of the first drop!! If that "intamacy" remains, watching riders on the first drop could be a lot more fun to watch than the TTD spectating!!
DizzyEatVortex Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I tried looking for this topic until I realised, It was pinned! 79 pages, let's see how many we can get by Diamondback opening! My pages are set up differently, but I'd guess there'll be about 8,000 posts by DB opening (+/- 100). You'll have about 4,000 of them...
Beast1979 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Gee I wonder what Clifford is picking up?? Probably Lift supports or possibly track.
firehawkboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Hmm... I remember seeing that white crane pick up supports yesterday, so maybe they are puttin that support right there where that one isn't finished.
RailRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Well after going back through the latest images of Diamondback, plus rereading the blog from Don on 10/3, he mentions the lift hill in his last paragraph and describes it as a steep climb to the top. I feel more and more confident about my 45 degree predicition and meassurements. This lift is going to have a very similar feel to Millenium Force...
firehawkboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 ^I am praying that our lift will be a 45* angle. I agree with your opinion on the angle of lift though. Now if only it was cable lift.
RailRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 ^I am praying that our lift will be a 45* angle. I agree with your opinion on the angle of lift though. Now if only it was cable lift. I wouldn't count on it being a cable lift. There isn't the need and its not something B&M even does, not even on their Dive Coasters.
firehawkboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 ^Yeah I know. Just kinda thinking out loud.
RailRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Looks like Clifford is moving a big lift support, also I noticed a concrete truck back near the HammerHead also.
firehawkboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Hmm.. I wonder why there would be a concrete truck headed back that way. Don't they have all footers down?
DropZone99 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Hmm.. I wonder why there would be a concrete truck headed back that way. Don't they have all footers down? They do have footings down, but not all of them. I wander when they will start putting up track by the hammerhead turn? On Saturday there were a few supports up by the hammerhead & there was a truck behind Crypt with some supports on it.
RailRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Well the cam shows a truck behind the crypt that is now empty. They may have been delivered to the hammerhead.
Beast1979 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Looks Like Clifford is about to put in another support: It's probably part of this next support up the lift, which is probably the one they are installing next:
firehawkboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I saw the supports for the hammerhaed like last week sometime. The truck brought it back. But I'm sure there was more supprots to be delivered so that's probably what they did.
firehawkboy Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Looks Like Clifford is about to put in another support: It's probably part of this next support up the lift, which is probably the one they are installing next: Looks about right.
RailRider Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Looks Like Clifford is about to put in another support: It's probably part of this next support up the lift, which is probably the one they are installing next: Covered on previous page...
Beast1979 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Anyone want to venture a guess to why a flatbed carrying a piece of flat track is sitting behind the crypt?
The Interpreter Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 As my beloved father would have said: "For little boys to ask questions about." Worked, too!
fcbaseball Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Anyone want to venture a guess to why a flatbed carrying a piece of flat track is sitting behind the crypt? I'm going to say brakes. Can we say they have completed everything back to the brakes now? If so I feel we deserve a new camera aimed right down the clearing toward the hammerhead. Don't remove the other one though because we want to see that too!! Show it all! Heck just let us bring in lawn chairs and watch this thing go up! -FC now heading to wal-mart for a lawn chair

Beast1979 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 We're supposed to get a nice soaking rain throughout the the day today, so I doubt much will be done today.
standbyme Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Yeah...a rainy ol' day...but better now than during Halloween Haunt.
RailRider Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 What will I do all day with very little to nothing to watch on the webcam. Does this mean I need to work???
kiruler102 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 this may be a rather ' STUPID' question but....... Were exactly will the train and queuing station be?
