[off topic]

Speaking of volcanoes and lahars, Mt. Redoubt started to erupt earlier in the week.

[on topic]

I don't know how snakes have to do with lahars, but it does sound kinda catchy. Did anything happen as to the landscaping today or anything else that was visible on the webcam.

Wow this is the only time I get to check KIC (because school has been keeping me way too busy lately) were talking about volcanoes which I have a test on tomorrow hahahahahaha ^_^

I wonder why Don hasn't been snapping pictures of all the new queue work going on, like the sign, station, and whatever those white things are? . I guess he's probably busy with opening day just around the bend!

Perhaps he thought no one would be interested in such pedestrian things.

Terpy, who once astounded a turnstyle salesguy at IAAPA, by being interested and knowing more about the product than did the salesguy

What?! Terpy, Terpy, Terpy. You should know by now to read before you post ;)

Anyways, I assume you meant more than the sales person, and if so, that is pretty bad on the salesguy's part.

How does one end up in the business of selling turnstiles? I think I want that job.

The post had been edited before you replied but not on your screen. And yes, the product....

All too many salespeople know all too little about their products...

Are you sure? It's commision based, and you make money only when you make a sale.

Well, fair enough. I'd rather have a salary based pay.

I was about to refer you to the Perey people...leaders in people counting...

(And to think Terpy had fallen into the habit of spelling turnstile with a y, like the musical groups.

There still is one question to ask...how did you learn what you know about turnstiles?

The same way I did about most things...I am a quirky reader, who devours all kinds of stuff...and I am VERY interested in design and architecture, as at least one person here can testify, even though I am not in any way employed in the field. I bet I am one of the few here who takes Architectural Digest AND Car, Landscape Architect, Advertising Age and Fast Food News...I am sure my postmaster is still trying to figure out how many different people share my post office box! :)

Ummm. I don't even know what to say to that!! And you bet you are one of the few people who read all of that. I bet you're the only one :P .

p.s.- I'm not trying to be rude if that is how I sound.

Landscape architect...I might have to start taking that one.

All this talk about turnstiles reminds me of one bad memory...While leaving KI one day (I was probably about 4 or 5) I decided I could squeeze through the turnstile in front of a family member. Somehow I managed to wedge my head and body into the turnstile. It hurt, and I cried. Luckily my mother was able to free me from the grip of the turnstile.

Are they just gonna have the cave entrance opened for crypt like they did this year? it would make since saying the ride isnt as popular as before and usually doesnt fill up outside.

Actually, many times throughout the season, I would see Crypt with a line that extended into the midway. I hope there is at least a small section of queue still left so this no longer happens.

I see a train emerging onto the transfer... more testing?

Don would appreciate me asking if there is steam coming out its smokestack yet!

Noticing they have a basket on the crane on the lift hill. Wonder what they are doing?

It's been located at different parts of the coaster close to the midway for the past few days. My guess... touch up-painting.

Looks like they are adding a fence around the track in the splash down so I don't think we'll see any testing until everyone around the splashdown is out of the way.
