Beast1979 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 They're gonna put the ride's highest point in next week? Yey!!! And they are probably putting that piece in last so that they can celebrate it and whatnot, and they can make it an event or something.
tigellinus Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Hey Beast1979.... How sad is it that I haven't (and am not even planning on) checking the D-back webcam today?! But honestly, I know they're not working today, if the weather is like Indy's it sucks and the views won't be good anyway! The only reason to check is the off chance you get a screwed up shot that provides a good view of the areas we can't really see well...like the lift hill, which hopefully they'll re-position the webcam for next week!! Btw, why are you showing up online now?? You should be in school, getting your edjabucation!!
RWildman424 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Sorry if this has been mentioned earlier, I've been busy with school, and I don't have time right now to check the threads because of school. There are now construction pics in the photo gallery of the Diamondback site.

BoddaH1994 Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 The post above is correct. The construction crews have Fridays off. They work almost every other day and work into the night.

PKI_flyer Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm sorry but does anyone else think the mustard yellow supports are ugly? I wish they would have stuck with the tan throughout the ride. My personal opinion is that that those supports will ruin the atmosphere in the back part of the park. It's obvious that they have no love for The Crypt, those supports kill anything theming that was left it.
The Interpreter Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What? How can yellow supports possibly interfere with a steel box? Terpy, whose head hurts....The outside of Crypt themed? Please....
Beast1979 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I Think the alteration of the Yellow Supports on the Lift and tan everywhere else looks nice. I do think it's going a bit overboard making the bottom of the first Drop Supports Yellow to though.
fanofki Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I do think it's going a bit overboard making the bottom of the first Drop Supports Yellow to though. Yeah, those were the ones I didn't care for too much, either. But I don't mind too much.
Fear the Offseason Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Looks like on the webcam, the angle that shows the side of the Crypt, they moved the webcam down a little bit and now you can see part of the Crypt's exit and the small yellow support. So maybe they are going to change it so we can see the lift hill for tomorrow!
Old_Joe Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 ...those supports kill anything theming that was left it. theming-schmeming I'm tired of us being called a theme park. What's wrong with amusement park?
RailRider Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 ^ Very True, and as mentioned earlier how much themeing is there for the big metal box in Rivertown?
gigacoaster2k Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 theming-schmeming I'm tired of us being called a theme park. What's wrong with amusement park? No joke. IMO a great coaster doesn't need a sugarcoating of theming to make it a great coaster. Slight theming is OK, but when you see it everywhere you turn in the queue, you have to wonder if they are trying to make up for something the coaster might be missing.
Go Browns Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I wonder how this held up in the wind yesterday.
flightoffear1996 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Probaly just fine. Since coasters are open wind probaly doesnt effect them too much.
Cory Butcher Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 ^He is referring to that old wooden plank supporting one end of that track piece...
RWildman424 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I spy something yellow. After I posted this, I noticed the smoke coming from the begining of the splash down, any thoughts on what it could be?
