Beast1979 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Heres something else to put this in to size terms. The 7th hill on DB will more than likely be taller than the lift on Racer!!! And most definately much steeper!
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 And filled with massive airtime. Although the return is not quite like AC at BGE the floater or bunny hops look very similar. Thats a good sign friends.
FOFreak Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Is there any more activity on the webcams for today? My IPod Touch does not have flash, and my mom put blocks on the computer.
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 You might be an KIC addict if your mom blocks KIC on your computer, instead of porn sites... hahaha, no seriously no more action for today.
Beast1979 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 You might be an KIC addict if your mom blocks KIC on your computer, instead of porn sites... hahaha, no seriously no more action for today. My mom blocked both at one point, found away around both!
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 ^ Wow smart 7th grader but you may not want to post anything incriminating you on a public site
FOFreak Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Tee Hee, Me too: My IPod Touch! She still doesn't know it has Internet on it! My moms a blonde!
JAHill Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 You might be an KIC addict if your mom blocks KIC on your computer, instead of porn sites... hahaha, no seriously no more action for today. My mom blocked both at one point, found away around both! Well then...
FOFreak Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Can someone post a "Track Layout" photoshop?
Beast1979 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 ^Why do you want those so much, it's pretty easy to get an Idea of what's up and what's not.
FOFreak Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Its hard for me to coprahend(sp?) sometimes what has been done day by day, and I like to compare by 3-D illistrations. PS: I like your new sig compared to your last one! It looks gangsta'!

The Interpreter Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 (I was so proud of myself for not doing that! ) Terpy, who hasn't been this excited about a new ride opening at Kings Island since...since...well since ever! :

Beast1979 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Nears Completion? It's not even Halfway done!
The Interpreter Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Nears Completion? It's not even Halfway done! You make a common mistake. Design, permitting, ground preparation, footings are all part of construction. This project is far more than 50 percent complete.
Beast1979 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Nears Completion? It's not even Halfway done! You make a common mistake. Design, permitting, ground preparation, footings are all part of construction. This project is far more than 50 percent complete. Well if I remember correctly there were 2 designs for that area made in advance, correct?
The Interpreter Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Regardless of how many proposals may have been made, the project is being constructed in accordance with the chosen design...and even if you take the design phase out of the project, the construction project itself is well over half complete. I think you are thinking of only the track erection phase, which is an important part, but nowhere near the bulk of the project. A lot more is involved in this than most know. And next April, the thrilling debut of the ride will make most of this irrelevant to all but a few!
CoastersRZ Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I would say that the overall construction phase is about half done. But the ride is certainly no where close to being "near completion." While most of the ground work is done, and a lot of the actual track manufacturing is done, there is still the task of putting the rest of the steel in place, doing all the electrical wiring on the ride, building the station, testing, etc.
Beast1979 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I see now. So, why are they going so fast and getting so much done each day, It's not like there's a time pressure. Is there?
Thrill_Biscuit Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Oh, we have pretty mild winters around here.
firehawkboy Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 All I'm going to say is, if they can work on Behemoth in the blistering Canadian weather, then King's Island has nothing to worry about.
RailRider Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 But why not get it done before winter strikes? Seems safer for the workers and gives more time to work the bugs out of the system before opening day.
firehawkboy Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I'm not disagreeing with you one bit. I would LOVE for DB to get done before winter strikes, but in my opinion, I don't think it will be done by Thanksgiving. Weren't they supposed to be working on the lift last week?? I'm hoping they start the lift hill soon. Especially since I've seen two pieces of lift track near the splash down.
RailRider Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Well they have 2 months to complete track construction before that Thanksgiving deadline. At the rate they have been moving, I think they are on pace.
firehawkboy Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 Hmm... We'll see about that. I really hope the hill gets completed soon because i want to be able to drive by KI soon and see that massive thing! And i wonder where the pictures will be taken?? I think they should have them taken right by the splashdown. And have the camera positioned perfectly so that you can see the water in the air, in the picture.
