tigellinus Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I'm surprised no one else has posted today about the amount of work that's been done!?! The entire turn into the station is almost done!! Seriously, these construction workers need to slow down or else they're going to get a track cramp!
moe2795 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Why did they move the webcam; it now looks as if it's beyond the Cript! Maria
CoastersRZ Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 The webcam has several different angles that rotate about every thirty seconds. One focuses on the station/transfer area, one focuses on the splashdown area, and one point out past The Crypt.
TopThrill Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 There the experts at webcams? I don't know, its like there's nothing going on back there.
RailRider Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Trust me it wont be long till you are thankfull that the webcam rotates to the different areas.
skaterboy22101 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ok did anyone elses webcam just go totally dark and stall for like 2 minutes
welchce Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 today Actually, according to these pictures, yesterday (well they at least started it yesterday).
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 oy, I go to school for just one day and the finish the turn and Station Track? Jeeze! They are booking?
tigellinus Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^^Seriously, these construction workers are out of their skulls right now with this speed!! At this rate, I wouldn't think it's completely crazy at all to see the entire lift hill and drop done when KI throws their glorious gates to heaven open again on Friday, Sept. 19th!!
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^I wouldn't be surprised to se it finished by Thanksgiving.
skaterboy22101 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^I wouldn't be surprised to se it finished by Thanksgiving. now i wouldnt say that. they only have a few pieces up and alot more to go. they havent even started working on the lift hill yet. mabye by mid to late january.
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Well they have finished putting up track that is allready supported, which means if they want to put in another piece they're gonna have to put in supports first. My guess? The Splashdown Area is next.
skaterboy22101 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Well they have finished putting up track that is allready supported, which means if they want to put in another piece they're gonna have to put in supports first. My guess? The Splashdown Area is next. yea. then the lift hill
Thrill_Biscuit Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I got my eye on that tree line...soon the "hills" will sprout up and dominate the KI skyline! (pretend they're binoculars...)
UncleHenry Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 oy, I go to school for just one day and the finish the turn and Station Track? Jeeze! They are booking? You know what that means, right? Never go to school again... Ever.
flightoffear1996 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 its looking good. I guess supports towards the back are next or supports leading from the splash down.
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 They moved the first piece back to the origional position.
markalan Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 oy, I go to school for just one day and the finish the turn and Station Track? Jeeze! They are booking? You know what that means, right? Never go to school again... Ever. NOOO....he needs to stay in school longer every day. Then they'll finish faster!
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 he needs to stay in school longer every day. Be quiet!
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 So when are they going to put up lift hill supports, since most of the lift hill doesn't cross the midway.
G-Force Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Wow, I'm still amazed how quickly this is going! The whole turn into the station in one day! This has to be some sort of record! I literally checked the webcam before dinner, and there was a gap between the turn and the station/braking areas. I finished dinner, looked at the webcam, no more gap! Amazing!
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Something for me to look forward to eah day at school. Wait, they don't work Fridays, do the workers?
tigellinus Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Looks like they're done for the day as well... The way I see it, if the weather's good and they can do a lot, then there's nothing bad about trying to be ahead of schedule. According to Wiki Behemoth finished a month behind schedule, and I wonder if CF is just being more perseverant while they have the opportunity!?!
Beast1979 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^Sure! Hell let's finish it by Holloween then have a season pass preview day on November 3rd!
Thrill_Biscuit Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 This is going up fast! It's like "Extreme Makeover, Coaster Edition!" -They're going to need a really, really huge bus, though.
CoastersRZ Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Uh, there is NO way they can finish the ride by November 3rd. The last footings by The Beast entrance plaza aren`t even going to be poured until after the park closes in November. And keep in mind that Behemoth did not open until mid-May. Kings Island is saying that Diamondback is going to open in April. Which means that they only have about eight months to finish building the ride and complete testing. It will not be like Firehawk which opened on Memorial day weekend last year.
